INTRAOCULAR GAS INJECTOR
A gas mixture apparatus includes a measurement control system, an activation system, a pressurized chamber with one or more gases, and a mixing chamber. A filter can be preattached to the outlet of the mixture apparatus, allowing excess gas to be discharged therethrough and then atmospheric air to be drawn into the mixture apparatus through the filter for creating a therapeutic gas mixture.
Sealed medication dispensing and administering device
A sealed medication dispensing and administering device has a syringe, a plunger, a connecting holder, an elastic valve, and a liquid stopper. The syringe has an outer barrel having an air inlet tube and an inner barrel inserted inside the outer barrel and having a medication inlet tube. The plunger is inserted within the outer and inner barrels. The connecting holder is connected to the syringe and has a connecting cover with at least one outer connecting hole and two piercing needles respectively piercing inside the air inlet tube and the medication inlet tube. Inner spaces of the two piercing needles communicate with the at least one outer connecting hole. The elastic valve selectively covers the two piercing needles. The fluid stopper is disposed within the connecting cover and blocks one of the at least one outer connecting hole and the inner space of the air inlet tube.
Telescoping syringe with one-way valve
A telescoping syringe suitable for use with medications and other materials is presented. The telescoping syringe includes a valve, a plunger, and a barrel. The valve further includes a barrier, an outlet(s) through the barrier, and an annular extension extending from the barrier. The plunger further includes an inlet(s) and a first side wall with a proximal wall. The barrel includes a second side wall with a distal wall at one end and an open end at another end. The plunger is extendable from and retractable into the barrel at the open end via slidable engagement between first and second walls. The valve directly contacts one end of the first wall so that an annular flange slidingly engages an annular groove. The valve and the barrel slidingly contact the plunger so as to open and to close the inlet(s) and/or the outlet(s). The inlet(s) in the open position permits gas to enter a first reservoir within the plunger as fluid is transferred from the first reservoir through the outlet(s) in the open position to a second reservoir within the barrel.
SYRINGE WITH SYRINGE CLOSURE
A syringe including a barrel, a plunger, and a vented closure. The barrel has a bore, and an end with an opening in communication with the bore and a barrel flange disposed outwardly of the opening. The plunger is disposed in the bore, and is movable along the bore. The vented closure is attached to the barrel at the end, and includes a stopper, a cap and a filter. The stopper is disposed over and/or in the opening in communication with the bore. The cap includes a body disposed over the stopper, and a fastener engaged with the barrel flange. The filter is disposed between the stopper and the cap, or in at least one of the stopper and the cap.
Nested Molded Piston Parts For Multi-Chamber Syringes
Nested piston apparatus is disclosed for making free pistons used to provide multi-chamber mixing and sequential delivery syringes within conventional syringe barrels. Each such syringe comprising one or more free pistons made according to the instant invention whereby syringe contents are selectively kept disparate until acted upon by forced displacement of an associated plunger rod. As well, nested piston apparatus is disclosed for using nested piston apparatus as multiple free pistons for making triple chamber syringes.
Device and method for storing and mixing bone cement
One aspect relates to a device for mixing a polymethyl methacrylate bone cement formed of two starting components and for storing the starting components of the bone cement. The device has a tubular cartridge with a cylindrical interior. A powder is contained in a front of the cartridge and a container containing a monomer liquid is arranged in a rear of the cartridge. A discharge piston is arranged between the container and the powder, and a conveying piston is on the side of the container opposite the discharge piston. The discharge piston and the conveying piston are arranged in the interior of the cartridge movably in the longitudinal direction. A conduit is provided that connects the front part and the rear part of the interior of the cartridge to one another in a manner permeable for the monomer liquid and for gases and which is impermeable for the powder.
FILTER APPARATUS FOR USE IN AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR THE PREPARATION OF A SAMPLE FOR A CHEMICAL OR COMPOSITION ANALYSIS
The present invention relates to a filter apparatus (1) for use in an automated system (100) for the preparation of a fluid sample for a chemical or composition analysis. The filter apparatus (1) comprises an inlet portion (2) with a conduit (3) ending in an entry port (4) for receiving the sample in an unfiltered state; a septum (5) held at and closing the entry port (4) of the conduit (3) of the inlet portion (2); an outlet portion (6) with a channel (7) for dispensing the filtered sample to a receptacle (70); and an intermediate portion (8) having a filter chamber (9) in fluid connection with the conduit (3) of the inlet portion (2) and with the channel (7) of the outlet portion (6) and a filter layer (10). The filter chamber (9) of the intermediate portion (8) has a diameter larger than a diameter of the conduit (3) of the inlet portion (2) and than a diameter of the channel (7) of the outlet portion (6). The filter layer (10) extends through the filter chamber (9) such that the conduit (3) of the inlet portion (2) is separated from the channel (7) of the outlet portion (6) by the filter layer (10). The present invention also deals with an automated system (100) for the preparation of a sample for a chemical or composition analysis and with a correlated method of preparing such a sample. The automated system (100) comprises an injection head (50) for the injection of an amount of sample in a receptacle (70) and a filter apparatus (1) as above introduced. The injection head (50) is equipped with a needle (51) adapted to be affixed to the filter apparatus (1) by piercing a septum (5) of the filter apparatus (1).
BLOOD FILTERING COMPONENT, APPARATUS, AND METHOD
An apparatus including a hollow body, an inlet fluidly coupled to the hollow body, a piston slidably engaged within the hollow body, and a filter module arranged within the hollow body between the inlet and piston. The piston and hollow body cooperatively generate a negative pressure, relative to ambient, within the hollow body during distal piston translation from a first position to a second position, thereby drawing a fluid, such as blood, through the filter module into the hollow body. The piston and hollow body cooperatively generate a positive pressure, relative to ambient, within the hollow body during piston translation from the second position to the first position to egress the filtered fluid from the hollow body. The filter module may include a filter housing, a filter medium disposed within the housing, and a body valve configured to seal an open distal face of the filter housing.
