Methods, systems and devices for administering medication
Systems, methods and devices for administering medication are disclosed. One or more embodiments of a medication delivery device may include a syringe, a needle, a guiding element, and a volume limiter for limiting the amount of medication that can be drawn from a vial. At least one method for administering medication using a medication delivery device, may include: inserting a vial into a guiding element, drawing back on a plunger, removing the guiding element and the vial from a needle to expose the needle, inserting the needle into a patient, depressing the plunger to inject the medication into the patient, and withdrawing the medication delivery device from the patient.
ASSISTIVE DEVICE FOR USE WITH A SYRINGE
An assistive device for use with a syringe comprises a housing for accommodating the syringe, a dispense member to be moved in a distal direction for dispensing a medicament from the syringe and a needle guard for covering a needle of the syringe before operation of the device. The dispense member comprises a first locking device and the housing comprises a second locking device for locking the dispense member to the housing when the needle guard in is a distal position, such that a movement of the dispense member in the distal direction is prevented.
SYRINGE
A syringe (100) comprising a barrel (111) with a lumen is provided. The barrel (111) is adapted to contain a drug, the barrel (111) having a distal end wall portion (198) and a tubular wall (112) extending proximally from said distal end wall portion (198), whereby the barrel (111) extends along an axis (1000). The distal end wall portion (198) has an opening (199) extending into a syringe head (140) adapted to receive a syringe needle, said syringe head (140) having a lumen smaller in transversal cross-section than the barrel lumen; the syringe (100) further comprising: a plunger (196) extending along the axis, said plunger shaft being displaceable along the axis (1000) within said barrel (111).
INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device for injecting an injectable substance, the injection device comprising a housing having an interiorly facing wall with the wall having a plurality of ribs formed thereon, the ribs defining a channel extending therebetween, a plunger rod mountable within the housing and having at least one protrusion engageable within the channel, a vial containing the injectable substance, a spring mounted at the distal end of the housing with the spring being biased between the distal end and the needle hub, and a pusher rod raised such that pressure thereon from the plunger rod will cause the pusher rod to push the injectable substance into the hollow needle for injection, the pressure causing the spring to act on the needle hub to move the needle hub and vial upwardly within the housing such that the needle is an enclosed position within the housing and cannot be reused.
Safety and filling system for retractable needles syringes
The present invention relates to an innovative system which definitively prevents the re-use of syringes with retractable needles, allowing at the same time to fill the tank by means of a mechanical system installed inside the piston. The operation that aims at preventing the re-use of the device takes place through a mechanical system that prevents the return of the piston towards the initial position of aspiration and restricts, therefore, its action in a single direction and prevents the return of the plunger to the initial position of injection and therefore restricts its action in a single direction. Moreover a rotating mechanical transition system prevents the re-positioning of the piston in the previously used position. The filling of the container, instead, takes place through the use of a system via a flexible cannula placed inside the piston.
DEVICE FOR LOCKING A PLUNGER ROD OF A SYRINGE AFTER USE AND PREVENTING RE-USE OF THE SYRINGE, AND SYRINGE ASSEMBLY
In a locking device for locking a plunger rod a plunger rod locking portion is provided for locking a plunger rod of a syringe after use and preventing re-use of the syringe. A chamber is formed inside the plunger rod locking portion for receiving the disc-shaped proximal end of the plunger rod after use of the syringe. The plunger rod locking portion comprises at least one positive locking device configured to positively lock the axial position of the plunger rod by positive-fit engagement with the disc-shaped proximal end of the plunger rod and retain the disc-shaped proximal end of the plunger rod inside the chamber. The locking device provides the functionality of a tamper-evident plunger rod locking device once a dose of medication has been injected by pushing the plunger rod forward, for preventing inadvertent re-use of the syringe.
Safety syringe
Disclosed is a safety syringe capable of preventing needle-stick injuries, filtering foreign matters in a fluid, and preventing reuse thereof. The safety syringe includes: a safety needle part provided with a safety cap, the safety cap being configured to pop out by an elastic force of an elastic body connected thereto when the safety cap is unlatched and to be fixed while surrounding a needle tip; a filter part being configured such that a first end thereof is coupled with the safety needle part, and filtering fluid introduced or discharged through the needle; and a main body part being configured such that a first end thereof is coupled with the filter part, and having a barrel with a piston mounted therein, the piston being provided at a fore end thereof with an insertion part pushing out the fluid by being inserted into a luer of the syringe.
Retractable needle syringe
A pneumatically activated retractable-needle syringe comprising a syringe barrel, a plunger, a needle, a needle hub, a locking tip, a propellant gas release cell and a rupture mechanism is provided. The plunger has a retraction lumen defined therein for receiving the needle when the retractable-needle syringe is actuated.
Dual Chamber Syringe With Retractable Needle
Embodiments of a retractable syringe assembly are provided that include a dual syringe barrel configuration. One or more embodiments include reuse prevention features and features that prevent premature activation of the retraction mechanism. Methods for aspirating and expelling liquid from medical devices are also provided.
Systems and Methods Related to Syringes
An improved system and method for a syringe capable of reducing re-usage and limiting wasted contents. The syringe has a plunger with a plunger plug that extends beyond the barrel of the syringe when the contents are fully dispensed and prevents the plunger from being drawn backward. The plunger may also consist of a two-piece design that separates upon exceeding a predetermined force when attempting to draw the plunger backward after use.
