SINGLE-USE SYRINGE WITH SYRINGE LOCK

A single-use medical syringe has a syringe lock that prevents repeated syringe aspiration and dispensing of fluids to patients. A pivoting syringe lock is coupled to the proximal open end of the syringe barrel. The syringe lock has or more cantilever lock forks in continuous, biased, sliding, abutting contact with the plunger. Each lock fork engages a corresponding plunger detent oriented on a proximal end of the syringe plunger, after the plunger is fully advanced within the syringe barrel. The plunger remains locked in an advanced position within the syringe barrel while each lock fork is engaged in its corresponding plunger detent. In some embodiments, a removeable plunger clip is coupled to the syringe to prevent inadvertent advancement of the plunger into the syringe barrel and premature locking of the syringe prior to administration of medication to a patient.

Flush syringe having anti-reflux features

An I.V. flush syringe assembly includes a barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining fluid, an open proximal end and a distal end with a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. An elongate plunger having a proximal end, a distal end and a flexible stopper is slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel for drawing fluid into and out of the chamber by movement of the stopper relative to the barrel. The barrel includes anti-reflux structure for holding said stopper in a partially deflected position after fluid has been delivered from the chamber and the stopper is being force against the distal end of the chamber.

Injection device with dosing control means

An injection device provides a casing which accommodates or forms a reservoir for a liquid drug; a plunger rod which can move relative to the casing in an axially forward direction to deliver the drug; and a dosing means which can move in the forward direction relative to the casing to prime the reservoir and which can rotate relative to the casing for selecting a dose to be injected. Rotation of the dosing means relative to the casing is prevented until a priming operation for priming the reservoir is completed. The dosing means comprises a dosing control means which is configured to enable rotation of the dosing means at the end of the priming stroke for selecting the dose and to prevent a rotation of the dosing means back into the position which the dosing means had at the end of the priming stroke relative to the casing.

INJECTION SYSTEM

Methods and systems for an injection system are provided. An example injection system includes a container for a pharmaceutical that is sealed at a proximal end with a plunger having a pushing surface for engaging an inner surface of the hollow body. A plunger rod extends axially from the proximal end of the container and is covered with a plunger rod cover. Removal of the cover activates the system and allows for delivery of the pharmaceutical product from the container by advancing the plunger within the container towards the seal.

Positive displacement flush syringe

A flush syringe assembly comprises a barrel including a cylindrical side wall having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining fluid, an open proximal end and a distal end having a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. A plunger including an elongate body portion having a stopper at its distal end is provided. The stopper is slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel for driving fluid out of the chamber through the passageway. The stopper includes a distal portion and a proximal portion separated by a spring element and configured to compress when fluid is being driven through the passageway by motion of the plunger and to continue to drive fluid through the passageway after motion of the plunger has stopped.

MULTI-CHAMBER SEQUENTIAL DELIVERY SYRINGE

It is known that fluids, for example, drugs, may be administered via a syringe. It is further known that in some instances, a second fluid must be administered following the administration of a first fluid in order to flush the first fluid. There are numerous reasons for why such flushing may be required and/or desirable. For example, flushing ensures that a patient has received the entirety of a dose of the first fluid (e.g., a drug), that the first fluid does not mix and/or react with a subsequently administered (third) fluid that may be incompatible with the first fluid, and/or that the infusion lines are clean and/or primed for a subsequent infusion, to cite a few examples. The present invention is a novel syringe design that houses the flushing solution as part of the syringe to streamline the fluid delivery (drug) and the flushing solution subsequently.
