Systems and Methods Related to Syringes
An improved system and method for a syringe capable of reducing re-usage and limiting wasted contents. The syringe has a plunger with a plunger plug that extends beyond the barrel of the syringe when the contents are fully dispensed and prevents the plunger from being drawn backward. The plunger may also consist of a two-piece design that separates upon exceeding a predetermined force when attempting to draw the plunger backward after use.
Syringe assembly with pivoting plunger and integral tip guard
The invention provides a syringe assembly comprising a syringe barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber, an open proximal end, and a distal end having an opening therethrough. An elongated plunger rod extends between a first end and a second end, with a cap or guard disposed on the first end of the plunger rod. A plunger head extends within the chamber of the syringe barrel, and is adapted for slidable movement within the syringe barrel between the proximal end and the distal end, with the second end of the plunger rod connected with the plunger head through a pivotable connection. The plunger rod is adapted to pivot with respect to the plunger head between a first position in which the guard is adjacent the distal end of the syringe barrel and a second position in which the plunger rod is in general axial alignment with the syringe barrel, and is further adapted for axial movement so as to cause sliding movement of the plunger head through the syringe barrel to expel contents thereof.
INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device including a barrel having a medicament reservoir therein capable of fluid communication with a needle assembly at a distal end thereof and sealed at a proximal end thereof with a stopper. The injection device further includes a plunger rod having a distal rod end which is couplable with said stopper, wherein, when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper, forward axial movement of the plunger rod causes forward axial movement of the stopper coupled thereto into the medicament reservoir in order to expel medicament through the needle assembly. Further, the plunger rod can be decoupled from the stopper by applying a rearward axial force on the plunger rod, said rearward axial decoupling force being less than a rearward axial force required to move the stopper rearwardly with respect to the barrel.
Dental syringe
A device or arrangement for a carpule for a dental syringe permits the harpoon on the distal end of the plunger rod to engage the rubber or rubber-like plug or piston of the carpule, but blocks the piston from being pulled out the open proximal end of the tubular glass body of the carpule. A preferred version has an apertured cap that fits onto the proximal end of the carpule, a retaining neck ring that fits onto the penetrable seal at the proximal end of the carpule, and a bar connecting them. The bar also serves as a grip to assist in handling the carpule.
Reuse Prevention Flush Syringe
A syringe includes a barrel having first and second ends, with the barrel defining an interior space and a stopper positioned therein, the stopper moveable within the interior space relative to the barrel, a plunger connected to the stopper, and a collar having threads configured to engage threads of a medical connector. The collar is at least partially received by the barrel, with one of the barrel and the collar defining a slot and the other of the barrel and the collar having a pin received within the slot. The collar has a connection position where the collar is fixed relative to the barrel when the syringe is being connected to the medical connector, a disconnection position where the collar is fixed relative to the barrel when the syringe is being disconnected from the medical connector, and a reuse prevention position wherein the collar is rotatable relative to the barrel.
SINGLE USE SELF-DISABLING SYRINGE
Disclosed is a single use self-disabling syringe capable of preventing the syringe from being reused after the syringe is used once on a patient, thereby preventing syringe reuse. The single use self-disabling syringe includes: a barrel having a needle attached to a tip end thereof and a fluid containing space defined therein, the fluid containing space being open at a rear end of the barrel; a plunger contained in the barrel and configured to draw in and expel a fluid; and a syringe reuse prevention means provided in the barrel along an inner surface thereof in an axial direction and configured to tear a part of the plunger so as to prevent the syringe from being reused.
Thumb press frangible feature for re-use prevention
Syringe assemblies having a passive disabling system to prevent reuse are provided. According to one or more embodiments, the syringe assembly comprises a barrel, plunger rod and detachable thumb press wherein the plunger rod further comprises flexible locking petals that lock the plunger rod within the barrel, a ramp disposed adjacent to the locking element, and one or more frangible connection or break point at the proximal end of the plunger rod disposed either inside the thumb press or immediately adjacent to the thumb press to separate the thumb press from the main body of the plunger rod when a user applies sufficient proximal force to the plunger rod after it has been locked within the barrel.
SYRINGE TIP CAP ASSEMBLY, SYRINGE COMPRISING SUCH A SYRINGE TIP CAP AND METHOD OF SEALING A SYRINGE BARREL
A syringe tip cap is provided for retaining a resilient closure at a distal end of a syringe tip of a syringe barrel, comprising a distal cap and a proximal sleeve connected via a coupling strip. An annular first breaking line is formed between the distal cap and the proximal sleeve. Frangible portions are provided as tamper indicator means. The proximal sleeve comprises a second breaking line extending nearly perpendicular to the first breaking line. For opening the cap, first the annular first breaking line is broken so the distal cap and the proximal sleeve can be partially separated. Thereby, the coupling strip serves as a hinge for pivotally coupling the distal cap and the proximal sleeve. Afterwards, the user further pulls down the distal cap in axial direction for breaking the second breaking line. The user may tear-off the syringe tip cap to access to the resilient closure.
INJECTION SYSTEM
Methods and systems for an injection system are provided. An example injection system includes a container for a pharmaceutical that is sealed at a proximal end with a plunger having a pushing surface for engaging an inner surface of the hollow body. A plunger rod extends axially from the proximal end of the container and is covered with a plunger rod cover. Removal of the cover activates the system and allows for delivery of the pharmaceutical product from the container by advancing the plunger within the container towards the seal.
