Inhalation device and method for inhaling powders
To disperse inhaling powders, a powder is positioned in a passage of a device for dispersing powders, wherein the passage has one or more exits, one or more inlets and one or more obstructions to block the movement or to contain the powder within the device before use. A breaching pressure differential between the one or more exits and the one or more inlets of the passage is applied to breach the one or more obstructions, which fully or partially aerosolizes the powder, thus releasing a fully or partially aerosolized powder from the device.
DRY POWDER INHALER
A dry powder inhaler with a blister folding device can include a housing to receive a single blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a mouthpiece through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user and a blister opening device. The blister opening device can include a blister support element for supporting a blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a blister folding element co-operable with the blister support element. The blister folding element and the blister support element can be movable relative to each other between a first position, for insertion of the blister into or onto the blister support element, and a second, burst, position in which the blister folding element has co-operated with the blister support element.
INTRANASAL PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING ANTICANCER DRUGCONTAINING NANOPARTICLES FOR TREATING BRAIN DISEASES
The present invention relates to an intranasal pharmaceutical composition comprising anticancer drug-containing nanoparticles for treating brain diseases. More specifically, the anticancer drug-containing nanoparticles are nasally administered to deliver the anticancer drug to only brain cells, thereby increasing therapeutic effects on brain tumor and reducing cytotoxicity to normal cells by an organic solvent used in the conventional delivery of the anticancer drug.
DRY POWDER INHALER WITH BLISTER BURSTING DEVICE
A multi-dose dry powder inhaler with a blister folding device is provided. The inhaler comprises a housing containing a blister strip, and a blister opening device. The blister strip comprises a plurality of individual blisters, each blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user. The blister opening device comprising a blister support element for supporting one of said blisters, and a blister folding element co-operable with the blister support element, the blister folding element and the blister support element being movable relative to each other between a first position, permitting movement of said blister into or onto the blister support element, and a second, burst, position in which the blister folding element has co-operated with the blister support element. Movement from the first position to the second position causes two spaced apart portions of said blister to each fold relative to the remainder of the blister to produce two spaced apart openings, each opening extending along the circumference of the blister bowl, beginning and terminating at points located on the fold line No piercing of the blister at any stage is required.
Resealable aerosol-generating article
An aerosol-forming article is provided, including an airflow inlet and an airflow outlet; a medicament source and a volatile delivery enhancing compound source disposed between the airflow inlet and the airflow outlet, and a moveable portion moveable between an open position in which the medicament source and the volatile delivery enhancing compound source are in fluid communication with both the airflow inlet and the airflow outlet, and a closed position in which each of the medicament source and the volatile delivery enhancing compound source is in communication with only one or none of the airflow inlet and the airflow outlet.
Apparatus and method for providing aerosolized powder delivery
An apparatus for aerosolized powder delivery includes first and second chambers containing gas at first and second pressures, respectively, above atmospheric pressure. A powder is contained within the first or second chamber. The first chamber has a first external wall and a separating wall shared with the second chamber. The first external wall or the separating wall is configured to rupture if the pressure difference across it becomes equal to or greater than a threshold pressure difference. Specifically, the apparatus is configured so that the difference between the second pressure and atmospheric pressure is greater than the threshold pressure difference. Initially, the difference between the second and first pressures is less than the pressure difference required to rupture the separating wall, and the difference between the first pressure and atmospheric pressure is less than the pressure difference required to rupture the first external wall.
Aerosol-generating device and aerosol-generating system
The aerosol-generating device includes a device housing, and a receiving chamber defined within the device housing. The receiving chamber is configured to receive at least a first-type consumable and a second-type consumable, the receiving chamber including a first structure for receiving the first-type consumable and a second structure for receiving the second-type consumable. A structure selector selects between the first structure and the second structure, the first and second structures differing in at least one of a shape, a size and a position within the receiving chamber. An aerosolization system is included with at least a portion of the receiving chamber, where the receiving chamber is configured to prevent an insertion of more than one consumable into the receiving chamber.
Delivery devices
A delivery device for and method of delivering substance, the delivery device comprising: an outlet member through which substance is in use delivered in an entraining gas flow; and a substance supply unit for supplying substance to be entrained by an entraining gas flow as one or both of a vapor or a fine aerosol mist, wherein the substance supply unit comprises a flow channel which is fluidly connected to the outlet member, and a substance supporting element for supporting substance, at least a surface of which is in use disposed in the flow channel.
DRY POWDER INHALER COMPRISING A CASING WITH A FIRST CASING PORTION AND A SECOND CASING PORTION
A dry-powder inhaler may include a first casing portion, a second casing portion, and a hinge arrangement connecting the first casing portion and the second casing portion. The dry-powder inhaler may be assembled by folding the first casing portion and the second casing portion together. The first casing portion may include a cavity for receiving a dose blister foil, said cavity being adapted to contain a dry-powder medicament. The first casing portion and the second casing portion when folded together may be adapted to form an inlet for allowing a lidding foil extending out there from and an outlet for providing the medicament.
