A manifold for a medicament delivery device configured to deliver discrete doses of medicament contained in a plurality of individual compartments spaced along a carrier strip and sealed by a sealing layer to form a medicament carrier, the manifold comprising: at least one opening mechanism comprising a release member arranged to engage between the carrier strip and the sealing layer of a medicament carrier so as to separate the sealing layer from the carrier strip and thereby open a compartment of the medicament carrier as it is advanced into an entrainment position; wherein the release member includes a surface configured to cover the opened compartment when in the entrainment position so as substantially to contain the medicament dose of said opened compartment.

A fluid permeable healer assembly for aerosol-generating systems comprises a substrate (1) comprising an opening (100) through the substrate, an electrically conductive substantially flat filament arrangement (2) arranged over the opening, and clamping means (3) mechanically fixing the filament arrangement to the substrate. The clamping means are electrically conductive and serve as electrical contacts for providing a heating current through the filament arrangement. The invention also relates to a method for assembling a fluid permeable heater.
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHODS
A device for releasing discrete doses of medicament carried in a plurality of spaced-apart compartments on a medicament carrier, each compartment being arranged in a carrier strip and sealed by a sealing layer, the device comprising: a release mechanism arranged to engage between the carrier strip and the sealing layer so as to unseal at least a portion of the compartment and expose the medicament dose contained therein, wherein the release mechanism preferably covers said exposed compartment in place of the sealing layer.

An inhaler device for delivering a powder substance contained in a capsule includes a main body having a first body portion and a second body portion jointly defining a first capsule seat part adapted to retain a first capsule part. The first and second body portions are hinged to each other so as to be rotatable between a closed main body position, adapted to retain the first capsule part in the first capsule seat part, and an open main body position adapted to allow expulsion of the first capsule part from the first capsule seat part. A slider, formed by a first slide portion and a second slide portion jointly defining a second capsule seat part adapted to retain a second capsule part, is slidingly housed in the main body.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING A SUBSTANCE TO A BODY CAVITY
Methods and devices for delivering one or more substances within at least one body cavity are provided. The device includes at least one nosepiece including at least one capsule having a volume V.sub.sub of the substances; at least one base in communication with the nosepiece, the base including at least one chamber configured to confine pressurized fluid at volume V.sub.PF and pressure P.sub.PF; and at least one hollow puncturing member. The hollow puncturing member includes at least one end in fluid communication with the nosepiece and a second end in fluid communication with the base. The first and second ends are fluidly interconnected by a hollow tube. The fluid inlet port of the capsule is configured in terms of size and shape to interface in a sealable manner with the one end of the at least one puncturing member.

A pulmonary drug delivery system is disclosed, including a breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, and a cartridge for delivering a dry powder formulation. The inhaler and cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, peptides and proteins such as insulin and glucagon-like peptide 1 for the treatment of endocrine disease, for example, diabetes and/or obesity.

A disposable capsule, containing herbal product such as Cannabis, can be used with a vaporizer for vaporizing the volatile constituents. The limited battery capacity of portable vaporizers necessitates efficient energy use in order to generate vapor from the herbal product. This is achieved through various features of the invention. Aided by airtightness of the vaporizer capsule connection, the airflow through the capsule can be guided in a controlled fashion. In fact, the capsule (1) is for use in a vapor producing device, the capsule (1) being filled with a herbal product (30) and comprising a shell (202), an upstream part (40) and a downstream part (41), wherein an inlet orifice (401) is in the upstream part (40) and/or in the shell (202) and an outlet orifice (411) is in the downstream part (41), the inlet orifice (401) and the outlet orifice (411) comprising a multitude of perforations (10), and wherein a flow-through-area A2, being a combined surface area of the perforations (10) of the outlet orifice (411), is larger than a flow-through-area A1, being a combined surface area of the perforations (10) of the inlet orifice (401).

A cartridge for an aerosol-generating system is provided, including: a liquid storage portion including a housing containing a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, the housing having an open end; and a fluid-permeable heater assembly including: an electrical heating element configured to heat the liquid aerosol-forming substrate to form an aerosol, the electrical heating element including a planar filament arrangement having one or more electrically conductive filaments, an electrically insulating substrate including a ceramic material and having a planar attachment face, the filament arrangement disposed in contact with the planar attachment face, and connectors arranged at opposite ends of the electrical heating element and forming two separate electrical contacts configured to apply power to the filament arrangement, the fluid-permeable heater assembly being arranged over the open end of the housing.
