DEVICE COUNTER
The present application provides a priming member for an inhaler and a method of loading an inhaler with a carrier for treating a respiratory disease by inhaling a powder from the inhaler. The priming member comprises a cantilever blade configured to engage a chassis of the inhaler, the cantilever blade having a proximal portion, a body and a distal portion, the body being disposed between the proximal portion and the distal portion of the cantilever blade and the cantilever blade having a flexible portion extending with the proximal portion of the cantilever blade to allow movement of the cantilever blade relative to the chassis.
Metered dose inhaler
The invention relates to a metered dose inhaler (1) for dispensing aerosol doses with an actuation housing (2) and a canister (5) with an aerosol. A triggering unit (8) comprises one single trigger member (21) on a flexible member (22) for activating a switch (19) of a circuit assembly. The flexible member (22) is configured to interact with the canister (5) in such a way that the trigger member (21) is moved in a lateral direction by the canister (5) so that the trigger member (21) engages the switch (19).
INHALER
There is disclosed an inhaler 10 for delivery of a medicament by inhalation. The inhaler 10 comprises a drive mechanism comprising a canister drive 22 for receiving a canister 50 of medicament, a biasing means 20, and a trigger mechanism. The trigger mechanism comprises a latch 35. The latch 35 has a locked position in which it contacts the canister drive 22 to prevent linear movement of the canister drive 22 and holds the biasing means 20 in a loaded configuration; and an unlocked position in which the latch 35 is disengaged from the canister drive 22 and releases the biasing means 20 from the loaded configuration to drive the canister drive 22 from a rest position to an actuated position. The trigger mechanism comprises a blocker 32. The blocker 32 has a blocking position in which it contacts the latch 35 to block movement thereof from the locked position to the unlocked position; and a rotated position in which the blocker 32 is disengaged from the latch 35 and allows movement of the latch 35 from the locked position to the unlocked position. The blocker 32 is rotatable in response to a force applied to the blocker 32. A method of operation of an inhaler 10 is also disclosed.
INTEGRATED DOSE COUNTER
An indicating device includes a mechanical dose counter adapted to count the number of doses that have been dispensed from or remain in a container and an electronic module coupled to the mechanical dose counter and adapted to record when the doses have been dispensed from the container. Methods of using and assembling the device are also provided.
Systems, methods, and devices to incentivize inhaler use
The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and devices that may be used to incentivize inhaler use.
Multidose inhaler
The present invention relates to an inhaler which comprises a durable unit and a replaceable (cartridge) unit, and which comprises systems, subsystems and elements to provide an “open-inhale-close” user experience. A durable unit comprises a breath-actuated trigger mechanism, and optionally electronics for providing user feedback, and telehealth can capability. A replaceable unit comprises a mouthpiece, blister strip, aerosol path dose counter and a blister piercing and aerosolization engine assembly assembly. A lockout mechanism may be provided to prevent further use of the cartridge when the dose counter reaches a preselected limit, such as zero.
INHALER SYSTEM
Provided is a system for determining a probability of a respiratory disease exacerbation in a subject. The system comprises an inhaler arrangement for delivering a medicament to the subject. The medicament may be a rescue medicament and/or a maintenance medicament. The inhaler arrangement has a use-detection system configured to determine an inhalation performed by the subject using the inhaler arrangement. A sensor system is configured to measure a parameter relating to airflow during the inhalation. A user interface enables user-input of an indication of a status of the respiratory disease being experienced by the subject. A processor is configured to determine the probability of the respiratory disease exacerbation based on the recorded inhalation(s) from the use-detection system, the parameter(s) received from the sensor system, and the indication received from the user interface. Further provided is a method for determining the probability of a respiratory disease exacerbation in a subject.
FLUID PRODUCT DISPENSING DEVICE
A fluid dispenser device having at least one reservoir (20) that is suitable for containing fluid to be dispensed; a pump (1) that is mounted on the reservoir (20); and a dispenser head (2) including a dispenser orifice (3) via which the fluid is dispensed, which dispenser head is suitable for actuating said pump (1). At least a rigid and/or non-deformable portion of the dispenser device is made out of a material comprising an aliphatic polyketone.
MEDICAMENT DISPENSER
A medicament dispenser for dispensing medicament comprising: an assembly comprising: at least one peelable medicament carrier carrying multiple distinct medicament portions; a medicament carrier advancing mechanism; a flow channel; and a hinged cover for the flow channel.
MEDICAL DEVICE WITH ENERGY HARVESTING SYSTEM
A medical device includes a user interface component and an energy harvesting system coupled to the user interface component. The energy harvesting system energy includes a harvesting component, a power storage device connected to the energy harvesting component and an output is coupled to the user interface and operably connected to the power storage device. A method of using the medical device is also provided.
