Bistable retractable buttons
An electronic device includes an enclosure and a keyboard positioned within the enclosure. The keyboard includes a substrate and a key mechanism. The key mechanism includes a keycap support mechanism, a keycap supported by the keycap support mechanism and movable relative to the substrate, a ferromagnetic component attached to the keycap support mechanism, and a selectively magnetizable magnet. The selectively magnetizable magnet system may include a magnetizable material and a coil configured to selectively magnetize and demagnetize the magnetizable material. The key mechanism may include a collapsible dome biasing the keycap toward the extended position.
Wireless devices with flexible monitors and keyboards
A portable device (e.g., a wireless device such as a cell phone) is provided with a flexible keyboard and a flexible display screen. Such flexible components may be stored in the housing of the portable device when not in use. The flexible display screen and flexible keyboard may be expanded from the housing when the flexible components are utilized by a user. Non-flexible display and input components may be provided on the exterior of the portable device such that the device may be used, in some form, while the flexible components are stored. In one embodiment, a portion of the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) may be utilized when the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) is stored in said first housing.
LOW-PROFILE KEYBOARD
A keyboard (110) comprises a base board (116), keys (112), pitfalls (120) and a mode control mechanism (118). The keys (112) include cups (1124), and the mode control mechanism (118) may switch the keyboard (110) especially the key cups (1124) between different modes. In case that the keyboard (110) is not in use, these cups (1124) can be received in the pitfalls (120) to reduce the profile of the keyboard (110). In case that the keyboard (110) is to be used, the keys (112) may be raised up and arranged on the base board (116) in order to enable long keystroke and provide good typing experience.
Cover structure and electronic device
A cover structure is suitable for a portable device. The cover structure includes a body, a first flexible component, an accommodation component, a second flexible component and a connection component. The first flexible component is connected to the body, and the accommodation component is connected to the first flexible component. The accommodation component has an accommodation groove configured for accommodating an object. The second flexible component is connected to the accommodation component, and the first flexible component. The connection component is connected to the second flexible component. The connection component is connected to the body, and the connection component is configured for being connected to a portable device. An electronic device is also provided.
Keyboard with touch sensor
A keyboard may be provided that has keys overlapped by a touch sensor. The keyboard may have key sensor circuitry for monitoring switching in the keys for key press input. The keyboard may also have touch sensor circuitry such as capacitive touch sensor circuitry that monitors capacitive electrodes in the touch sensor for touch sensor input such as multitouch gesture input. The touch sensor may be formed from a layer of fabric. The fabric may be woven fabric or other fabric in which conductive strands of material serve as the electrodes for the touch sensor.
SINKABLE KEYBOARD DEVICE
A sinkable keyboard device includes a substrate, a first keycap, a second keycap, and a sliding plate. The substrate has an upper surface. The first keycap is liftably disposed on the upper surface and includes a first abutting portion. The second keycap is liftably disposed on the upper surface and includes a second abutting portion. The sliding plate is parallel to the substrate and movable relative to the upper surface along a sliding direction. The sliding plate includes a first guiding member and a second guiding member arranged along the sliding direction. The first guiding member has a first inclined guiding surface, and a first inclined angle is between the first inclined guiding surface and the upper surface. The second guiding member has a second inclined guiding surface, and a second inclined angle different from the first inclined angle is between the second inclined guiding surface and the upper surface.
RETRACTABLE KEYBOARDS
Keyboards are disclosed that are retractable. Movable magnetic or mechanical linkage elements are configured to reposition keycaps and stabilizers between different relative positions. Structures in a movable layer can act on the keycaps or stabilizers to move the keycaps and stabilizers into a retracted position for storage and for saving space in an electronic device. The stabilizers can be scissor mechanisms, butterfly mechanisms, and similar devices. The movable layer can be moved in response to rotation of a hinge or other mechanical element in the electronic device.
KEYBOARD ASSEMBLY
A keyboard assembly is provided. The keyboard assembly includes an enclosure for protecting the keyboard and other components associated therewith. The enclosure is configured to engage with one or more bracket or bracket assembly, thereby providing a mounting system for supporting the enclosure. By engaging the enclosure with the bracket, the position of the keyboard can be controlled and maintained. By disengaging the enclosure from the bracket, the bracket can be moved and/or the enclosure can be engaged with a different bracket, thereby satisfying different requirements and/or preferences associated with the location of the keyboard.
Rollable and flexible input device
A rollable and flexible input device includes a drum, a reel received in the drum, an input device body connected to the reel, and a battery. The reel is rotated relative to the drum so that the input device body is in a rolled-up state or a stretched state. The reel defines a battery cavity, and the battery is disposed in the battery cavity.
