The electronics module may include a communication circuit, a pressure sensor, and a switch. The slider may be configured to engage the switch when the mouthpiece cover moves from a closed position to an open position. The switch may be configured to switch the electronics module from an off state or a sleep state to an active state. The electronics module may be configured to never return to the off state after the mouthpiece cover is moved to expose the mouthpiece for the first time by the user.

Vaporizer related systems, methods, and apparatus

A personal vapor inhaling unit is disclosed. An electronic flameless vapor inhaler unit that may simulate a cigarette has a cavity that receives a cartridge in the distal end of the inhaler unit. The cartridge brings a substance to be vaporized in contact with a wick. When the unit is activated, and the user provides suction, the substance to be vaporized is drawn out of the cartridge, through the wick, and is atomized by the wick into a cavity containing a heating element. The heating element vaporizes the atomized substance. The vapors then continue to be pulled by the user through a mouthpiece and mouthpiece cover where they may be inhaled.

APPARATUS FOR DEFINING CPAP VENTILATION WITH A MINIMUM VOLUME

A ventilator for respiration gas supply, comprising a respiration gas source, a control unit, a memory, a pressure sensor and/or a flow sensor, an exchangeable respiration gas tube, at least one connection stub for the respiration gas tube, a patient interface and a valve. The control unit is set up to use signals from the pressure sensor and/or flow sensor to ascertain the patient's respiration phase and to ascertain the patient's current tidal volume during successive inhalations and exhalations and to compare a first set volume threshold for the tidal volume with the current tidal volume and to determine whether the latter is below the former and if so, to react by driving the respiration gas source to set a second pressure for the respiration gas for inhalation and driving the respiration gas source to set the CPAP pressure for the respiration gas for exhalation.

Electronic cigarette

An electronic cigarette includes a liquid supply including liquid material, a heater operable to heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol, a wick in communication with the liquid material and in communication with the heater such that the wick delivers the liquid material to the heater, at least one air inlet operable to deliver air to a central air passage upstream of the heater, and a mouth end insert having at least two diverging outlets. The electronic cigarette can also include an air flow diverter which directs incoming air away from a heating zone of the heater.

Aerosol generating device with multiple heaters

An electrically heated aerosol-generating device includes a storage portion configured to contain an aerosol-forming substrate and having a fluid permeable internal surface surrounding an open-ended passage extending through the cartridge. The device includes a housing having a cavity for receiving the cartridge, and a heater assembly positioned in the cavity. The heater assembly includes an elongate support member connected to the housing and arranged to extend into the open-ended passage of a cartridge inserted in the cavity. The heater assembly also includes a plurality of electric heaters fixed to and spaced along the length of the elongate support member.

RESPIRATOR DEVICES WITH SOURCE CONTROL MECHANISMS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

The present technology relates to respirator devices including source control features. In some embodiments, a source control mask device can include a shield that substantially covers the mouth and nose of a user and a mechanism that can actively extract air as it is exhaled by the user. The extracted exhaled air can then be sanitized before the mask device discharges it into the atmosphere. The mask device may selectively form a seal to the user's face dependent on air flow conditions.

PATIENT ATTACHMENT DETECTION IN RESPIRATORY FLOW THERAPY SYSTEMS
20220134028 · 2022-05-05 ·

Systems and methods can determine whether a patient is attached to a respiratory device (such as to via a patient interface) by analyzing a flow parameter signal in the time domain. Additionally, the processes can classify the patient attachment status into one of the four categories: detached, attaching, attached, or detaching. The system can include a non-sealed patient interface, such as a nasal cannula in a nasal high flow therapy, or any other patient interfaces. Data of the patient's use of the respiratory system can provide therapy compliance and long-term trend of use information and/or progress in the patient's respiratory functions and/or other physiological functions.
