A device for holding a tracheostoma device over a tracheostoma of a patient including a passage having a distal and a proximal opening for receiving the tracheostoma device at the distal opening thereof. A flange may extend laterally, caudially, and cranially from the passage. The flange may have a proximal side facing the tracheostoma of the patient and a distal side facing outwardly from the patient. At least a part of said proximal side may include skin adhesive. The flange may have a higher moment of resistance in the caudal/cranial direction than in the lateral/medial direction for said device by having a higher moment of resistance in the caudal/cranial direction than in the lateral/medial direction for at least a part of said flange.

UNIVERSAL RESPIRATORY DETECTOR

A universal respiratory detector for detecting a respiratory gas. The universal respiratory detector may include a plurality of layers with a visual indicator to quickly and reversibly change color to detect a respiratory gas parameter such as carbon dioxide. The color change may be visible from both sides of the detector. In some examples, the respiratory detector may be a biocompatible and conformable sticker for mounting on a person's face or an oxygen delivery device.

PORTABLE HUMIDIFICATION APPARATUS FOR TRACHEOSTOMY PATIENTS
20220184338 · 2022-06-16 ·

A portable humidification apparatus for a patient having a tracheostomy including a tracheostomy tube includes an adapter having a central lumen and arranged to be coupled to the tracheostomy tube, the adapter including a first magnet disposed therein. A vaporizer assembly is configured to be removably coupled to the adapter in fluid communication with the central lumen and includes a second magnet disposed therein. The first magnet and the second magnet releasably connect the adapter and the vaporizer assembly and allow for relative rotation between the adapter and the vaporizer assembly when connected. An ultrasonic emitter is disposed within the vaporizer assembly for generating a water mist from water in a water supply system in fluid communication with the vaporizer assembly, wherein the water mist is ducted from the vaporizer assembly to the central lumen of the adapter to provide humidification of air inspired by the patient through the tracheostomy tube.

A breathing protector for use in a stoma of a laryngectomized or tracheotomised person is described. The breathing protector includes at least one inlet, at least one outlet, a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) and an air filter, such that an air flow will pass through the HME and the air filter when the air flow passes through the inlet to the outlet. A housing is provided with an upper part and a lower part. According to an example, the inlet is provided in the upper part and the outlet is provided in the lower part. The upper part is provided with a closing member that when activated closes the communication between the inlet and the outlet via a closing valve.

TWIST TO LOCK TRACHEOSTOMA HEAT AND MOISTURE EXCHANGER

A twist to lock heat and moisture exchanging device includes a housing having a first opening that is adapted to open to a tracheostoma and a second opening that opens to ambient. A foam filter is disposed in the housing and a closure member is mounted to the housing and adapted to close a passage between the first opening and the second opening. A locking mechanism is engageable to prevent movement of the closure member to close the passage and disengageable to allow movement of the closure member to close the passage. The twist to lock tracheostoma heat and moisture exchanger allows a user to protect from accidental closure during activities when it would be preferred like sleeping and exercising.
