DETERMINISTICALLY CONTROLLED HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM

A respiratory humidification system for providing humidification to gases that pass through a gas passage way before being provided to an airway of a patient is disclosed. The respiratory humidification system may include a liquid flow controller providing a controlled flow of liquid, a heating system including a heating surface configured to be located in a gases passage way and provide humidification to gases passing through the passage way, wherein the heating system receives the controlled flow of liquid, and one or more hardware processors providing deterministic control of a humidity level of gases passing through the gas passage way by instructing the liquid flow controller to adjust the controlled flow of liquid received at the heating system.

AEROSOL DELIVERY SYSTEM

An aerosol delivery system is disclosed, the system comprising: an aerosol delivery unit, the aerosol delivery unit comprising: a cartridge receiver, which is configured to receive a cartridge assembly; and an inductor configured to receive the cartridge assembly and heat a liquid formulation within a capillary tube to produce an aerosol by induction heating. The cartridge assembly including an active part of the cartridge assembly including a capillary tube; a susceptor, the susceptor configured to partially surround the capillary tube; and a pair of displaceable covers, which surround at least the capillary tube and the susceptor.

Manual resuscitators, ventilation control assemblies, and methods suitable for delivering a volume-controlled tidal volume of air to a patient's lungs. Such a resuscitator has a piston that pushes a selected volume of air out of a ventilation chamber of a cylinder in response to pressurized gases being introduced into an actuation chamber of the cylinder. A volume adjuster adjusts the maximum tidal volume of patient air that the piston pushes out of the ventilation chamber by adjusting the maximum length of the piston stroke in the cylinder. The volume adjuster may have a bypass mode that allows the manual resuscitator to operate without volume control. The manual adjuster may also be pressure regulated by one or more pressure regulation valves.

NASAL CANNULA

The disclosure relates to a nasal cannula comprising a port configured for delivery of a medicament into a flow of a fluid being delivered by the nasal cannula to a user and/or configured for interfacing with a medicament delivery device or an instrument. The disclosure also relates to a nasal cannula comprising an asymmetric profile to reduce an amount of occlusion of one nare of a user to provide access for an instrument to the nare with the nasal cannula in use.

An adaptor for a respiratory assistance system delivers aerosols to a patient. The adaptor is lightweight with a small footprint to increase patient comfort. The adaptor has a nozzle and a sealing mechanism to maintain pressure therein regardless of whether the nozzle is inserted into the adaptor. The adaptor is configured to connect to medical tubing and a medicament delivery device.

A nebulizer includes: a suction mechanism configured to suck a liquid for humidification from a water bottle containing the liquid and form an aerosol of the sucked liquid by a negative pressure produced by an oxygen gas jetted from a gas jetting part of a nozzle member; a liquid receptor configured to store the liquid residing in the form of droplets into which the aerosol turns; and a receptor-side aerosol forming member configured to suck the liquid from the liquid receptor and form an aerosol of the sucked liquid by the negative pressure. Consequently, germs are prevented from getting into the liquid in a container during use, and the liquid is prevented from dripping when the container is replaced.

SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN DELIVERY SYSTEM

A supplemental oxygen delivery system is described in which Aerosol is delivered into a housing 10, 20, which sits in the circuit from the supplemental oxygen supply and optional humidifier. The supplemental oxygen passes through this chamber 10, 20 in which the aerosol is located, and collects the aerosol transporting it to a patient via a nasal cannula 3 or a face mask 4. An aerosol generator 9 is mounted to the housing 10, 20 and delivers aerosol into an oxygen stream 13 flowing between an inlet 14 and an outlet 15 of the housing 10. The housing 10 also has a removable plug 16 in the base 17 thereof for draining any liquid that accumulates in the housing 10. There is no disruption of oxygen delivery to patients using nasal cannulas who currently have to use a separate face-mask when receiving nebulized medication.

VAPORIZER

A vaporizer for delivery of a volatile medium to a gas flow, the vaporizer comprising: a gas delivery unit (3) which receives a flow of gas and provides a flow of gas containing a metered amount of a vaporized medium; a reservoir unit (5) which contains a volatile medium and maintains a supply of the vaporized medium, wherein the reservoir unit is selectively fluidly connected to the gas delivery unit; a gas sensing unit (7) for sensing a flow rate and/or composition of the gas flow; a vaporized medium sensing unit (9) for sensing a flow rate of the vaporized medium; a manifold (10) which includes flow paths for the vaporized medium and fluidly connects the reservoir unit and the vaporized medium sensing unit; and a control unit (11) for controlling a flow rate of the gas flow and an amount of the vaporized medium which is metered into the gas flow.
