PLUNGER-BASED DELIVERY DEVICE TO FACILITATE VASCULAR ACCESS
A delivery device for delivering an instrument into a catheter assembly may include a syringe, which may include a barrel and a plunger movable within the barrel. The plunger may include a handle and a stopper coupled to a distal end of the handle. The stopper may include a channel. The delivery device may include a guidewire disposed within the barrel and extending through the channel. In response to depression of the plunger, the guidewire may move through the channel and a first end of the guidewire may be advanced in the distal direction. A second end of the guidewire may be fixed.
SUCTION CATHETER SYSTEMS WITH DESIGNS ALLOWING RAPID CLEARING OF CLOTS
A suction catheter system is described with a suction extension interfaced with a guide catheter to form a continuous suction lumen extending through a portion of the guide catheter and through the suction extension. The suction extension can be positioned by tracking the suction nozzle through a vessel while moving a proximal portion of the suction extension within the lumen of the guide catheter. The suction extension can comprise a connecting section with a non-circular cross section for interfacing with the inner lumen of an engagement section of the guide catheter. Proximal fittings attached to the guide catheter can facilitate safe removal of the catheter system from the patient by allowing for the removal of some or all of a tubular extension of the suction extension from the guide catheter behind a hemostatic seal. The fittings can include a docking manifold that can dock the connection suction of the suction extension to allow removal of the suction extension from hemostatic isolation and clearing of clots from the suction extension without further fittings such that the cleared suction extension can be efficiently reinserted for additional use.
EXTENSION SET WITH A PATENCY INSTRUMENT
An extension set may include a tube, which may include a distal end, a proximal end, and an outer surface. The extension set may include a distal connector coupled to the distal end of the tube and/or a proximal connector coupled to the proximal end of the tube. The extension set may include a patency instrument disposed within the tube. The extension set may include a translation handle coupled to the outer surface of the tube. The translation handle may be configured to move along the outer surface of the tube between a proximal position and a distal position to translate the distal end of the patency instrument between a retracted position and an advanced position. In response to the distal end of the patency instrument being in the advanced position, the distal end of the patency instrument may extend beyond the distal end of the tube.
Focusing Catheter
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a coaxial stream delivery device having an inlet section and outlet section in fluid communication via a plenum chamber. In an illustrative example, an inner radius of the plenum chamber may monotonically decrease distally along a longitudinal axis. The inlet section may include an inner tubular wall extending along the longitudinal axis. At least one bridge may extend radially inward from the inner tubular wall to coaxially align an inner conduit therewithin relative to the longitudinal axis. The at least one bridge may define a corresponding number of annular sector apertures bounded by the inner tubular wall and an outer wall of the inner conduit. Various embodiments may advantageously be disposed in a fluid path to coaxially align a therapeutic fluid stream entering the inner conduit within a sheath fluid stream entering the annular sector apertures.
HOLLOW PROBE WITH SLEEVE
A hollow probe enabling insertion and accommodation of endoscopic and other instruments advancing within a lumen includes a central valve unit featuring a central bore and at least one valve for controlling the introduction and withdrawal of fluid into the central bore. A sliding tubular sheath is movably disposed inside the central valve unit. An impermeable flexible sleeve is sealingly anchored to the central valve unit and folds over to cover both the inside and outside of the sheath to sealingly envelop the sheath and contain the fluid, together with the valve unit, while allowing sliding of the sleeve-covered-sheath. An endoscope adapter is mountable to the proximal end of the sleeve-covered-sheath, for allowing insertion of the endoscope through the adapter into the sleeve-covered-sheath, includes at least one gasket for sealing at least one gap between the endoscope and the sleeve-covered-sheath for withholding fluids from escaping.
SERVICE LOOP RING
A medical device including a catheter body, a first elongate body, and a service loop ring. The catheter body has a catheter shaft. The first elongate body extends through at least part of the catheter shaft and is configured to move longitudinally in the catheter shaft. The first elongate body is looped through the service loop ring to form a service loop configured to expand and contract as the first elongate body moves longitudinally in the catheter shaft.
System, device and method for advancing an article along a path
Provided is a system for advancing an article along a path. The system may include a head member, a dispatching member, and an eversion sleeve. Also provided is a method for assembling a system for advancing an article along a path.
MINIATURIZED INTRA-BODY CONTROLLABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device includes a host structure that has an interior area and one or more propulsion systems linked to the host structure. The host structure and the propulsion systems are configurable into a peripheral boundary of a size adapted to fit in a lumen or cavity of a living organism such as a human being or animal. The medical device includes one or more power supplies in communication with the propulsion systems. The medical device includes a control unit in communication with the propulsion systems and the power supplies. The control unit has a computer process controller configured to control the propulsion systems to move the host structure and the propulsion systems in the lumen so that the host structure and the propulsion systems are self-maneuverable within the lumen.
Catheters and related equipment
A catheter including at least one distal opening positioned at or near the distal end and at least one proximal opening near the proximal end and proximal to the at least one distal opening is described. The catheter may be configured for delivering at least a first fluid through the at least one distal opening to a central circulation system of a patient and delivering at least a second fluid through the at least one proximal opening to a peripheral circulation system of the patient.
Method and apparatus for advancing a probe
Some embodiments relate to an apparatus comprising an elongate flexible tube sized to be received within a tract and having a proximal end and a distal end; a drive mechanism coupled to the proximal end of the tube; and a liquid column extending from the proximal end to the distal end; wherein the drive mechanism is configured to cause movement of the liquid column within the tube to impart forward momentum to the tube and thereby promote advancement of at least the distal end of the tube within the tract when at least the distal end is received within a part of the tract.
