INFLATABLE MEDICAL DEVICES
Inflatable medical devices and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. The devices can be medical invasive balloons, such as those used for transcutaneous heart valve implantation, such as balloons used for transcatheter aortic-valve implantation. The balloons can have high strength, fiber-reinforced walls.
MEASUREMENT DEVICE
The application describes embodiments including, e.g., a measurement device comprising: a casing, a first magnet arranged within the casing such that it is rotatable out of an equilibrium orientation responsive to an external magnetic torque acting on the first magnet, a second magnet to provide a restoring torque to force the first magnet back into the equilibrium orientation responsive to an external magnetic torque rotating the first magnet out of the equilibrium orientation, allowing for a rotational oscillation of the first magnet, which is excited by the external magnetic torque, with a resonant frequency, and a temperature sensitive magnetic material to modify the resonant frequency.
Radiofrequency perforation apparatus
Medical devices are disclosed having improved visualization of a portion of the medical device insertable into a patient's body while minimizing obstruction of fluid flow through a lumen of the device and while minimizing an increase in the outer diameter of the device attributable to the feature providing improved visualization. The device can include, for example, an imaging marker distal to lumen openings (exit ports), or, where the device comprises a tube, such as a metallic tube, an imaging marker embedded into a wall of the tube. Another embodiment includes attaching a marker to the surface on the inside of a lumen of a medical device without embedding the marker. Various alternative embodiments, methods and applications of using such devices are disclosed as well.
INDUCTIVE DOUBLE FLAT COIL DISPLACEMENT SENSOR
A catheter adapted to measure a contact force includes a proximal segment, a distal segment, a spring segment extending from the proximal segment to the distal segment, and at least one inductive sensor. The at least one inductive sensor includes a first plate of high magnetic permeability material disposed on the proximal segment, a second plate of high magnetic permeability material disposed on the distal segment opposite the first plate, at least one first coil disposed adjacent to the first plate between the first plate and the second plate, and at least one second coil disposed adjacent to the second plate opposite the first coil between the first plate and the second plate. The second coil is electrically connected in series with the first coil. The first coil and the second coil are configured to output a signal indicative of displacement between the first coil and the second coil.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS, AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING A PERCUTANEOUS TRACHEOSTOMY
Devices, systems, and methods for creating a percutaneous tracheostomy are described herein. In some embodiments, a system can include an inflation assembly and a guidewire assembly. The inflation assembly can include an elongated tube, an inflatable member, and a magnetic member. The elongated tube can have a first end, a second end, and can define a lumen. The inflatable member can be coupled to the first end of the elongated tube and can be fluidically coupled to the lumen such that the inflatable member can receive fluid via the lumen. The magnetic member can be coupled to the first end of the elongated tube. The first end of a guidewire of the guidewire assembly can include a coupling member, the coupling member configured to couple to the inflatable member such that translation of the elongated tube translates the guidewire assembly.
Invasive Medical Devices Including Magnetic Region And Systems And Methods
Devices, systems, and methods are described including an invasive medical device with a magnetic region. The magnetic region can include a discontinuity in the magnetic region providing a diameter transition, a plurality of spaced magnetic regions can be provided or the magnetic regions can be encoded with data. Systems and methods are described that include ways to read the data.
Magnetized Catheters, Devices, Uses And Methods Of Using Magnetized Catheters
Catheters, vascular access devices using such catheters, methods of using such catheters and uses of such catheters are disclosed. The catheter comprises polymeric tubing including a composition that can be magnetized by application of an externally applied magnetic field, thereby magnetizing the tubing. Detection of the magnetic field provides location information for the catheter in the vasculature.
Medical Devices, Systems And Methods Utilizing Permanent Magnet And Magnetizable Feature
Systems, methods and devices are described including a catheter adapter subassembly including a magnetic feature. Systems include such a catheter adapter subassembly and a needle subassembly including a magnetic feature, and relative movement of the catheter adapter subassembly and the needle subassembly can be determined using a magnetometer.
