RATCHET-SLIDE HANDLE AND SYSTEM FOR FIDUCIAL DEPLOYMENT

Embodiments include a fiducial deployment system with a handle configured for actuation of same. A fiducial may include one or more protuberances configured to engage one or more slots in a needle of the system. The needle may be configured to deliver a plurality of fiducials to a target location in serial fashion, one at a time. The handle includes an actuation mechanism with a recessible-toothed rack and actuation member(s) configured for incrementally or otherwise controlledly deploying one or more fiducials at a time by advancing a stylet through and/or retracting the body of a slotted needle in which fiducials are disposed with a fiducial protrusion extending into the needle slot, which needle slot also includes retaining structures that do not impede the needle lumen.

GRIPPING AND PUSHING DEVICE FOR MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
20170042571 · 2017-02-16 ·

In one representative embodiment, a gripping and pushing device for a medical instrument comprises an elongated main body defining a lumen. The elongated main body comprises one or more deflectable portions that can be pressed radially inwardly toward a shaft of the medical instrument extending through the lumen. One or more elastomeric gripping layers can be secured to the inner surface of a respective deflectable portion at axially spaced apart attachment locations. The one or more gripping layers are axially deformable relative to the one or more deflectable portions between the attachment locations when manual pressure is applied to the one or more deflectable portions to press the one or more gripping layers against the shaft and move the shaft longitudinally into a patient's body.

Methods of urging a catheter from a closed urinary catheter system

A sterile closed intermittent urinary catheter system which is an easier to use by virtue of ergonomic shaping to facilitate advancement and retrieval of the catheter from the collection bag. The bag may have a closed internal hole adjacent an indent in one edge that creates a narrow channel through which the catheter passes. The narrow channel is located near to and in alignment with an outlet assembly so that the catheter extends from the narrow channel directly to the outlet. A user may easily grasp the catheter from outside the bag at the narrow channel and urge the catheter forward or backward to alternately extend and retract it through the outlet. A flexible pusher sleeve with gripper features may be added around the narrow channel to further facilitate catheter advancement.

Soft cylindrical torque tool for medical devices with lumen

The present disclosure is related to a device for gripping catheters that are used in interventional cardiac procedures without causing internal catheter damage. The present disclosure will allow the operator to maintain improved stability and maneuverability compared with current approaches, including, primarily, digital manipulation, which can lead to fatigue, instability and inappropriate catheter movement. Specifically in the pediatric population where small movements can lead to severe and permanent complications, the present disclosure has the potential to increase the safety profile of already high-risk interventional catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.

Catheter applicator and method of use

A catheter applicator is disclosed which allows an aseptic and stable catheter insertion and handling. The applicator comprises, in particular, clamping members cooperating with a bearing surface for handling a catheter. A method of using the applicator is further provided.
