Catheter Securing Devices and Methods
A device that has a head having an inside surface and a base integral with the head, the head smoothly transitioning to the base, the base comprising a first opening where the head transitions to the base and a lateral circular channel that travels from the first opening to a second opening on a bottom of the base. Further, the device has a clamp that clamps the base to a catheter.
Apparatus and Methods for Securing Medical Tubes on Patients
Securing a medical tube in fluid communication with the interior of a patient is accomplished with an apparatus having a support portion with a mounting surface thereon, a cover portion for the mounting surface that releasably attaches to the mounting surface to define an inner chamber, and a plurality of fingers to define at least one access slit for a medical tube to pass through. The assembly also has a detachable fastener element for securing the medical tube in the assembly. The plurality of fingers releasably connect to one another to define at least one access slit with the medical tube extending through the access slit. The plurality of fingers can be disconnected from one another to open the access slit, thereby facilitating removal of the substrate from the patient without disturbing the fluid communication between the medical tube and interior of the patient.
Multi-Directional Catheter Guard
In aspects of a multi-directional catheter guard, a first end is configured for fitment with an anatomically male patient, and a second end is configured for fitment with an anatomically female patient. The multi-directional catheter guard can include an expandable enclosure that expands and closes for fitment, encompassing a catheter tubing in a direction corresponding to patient anatomy. The multi-directional catheter guard may also include a friction material that resists lateral movement of the multi-directional catheter guard from an attached position on the catheter tubing.
PATIENT INTERFACE AND COMPONENT PARTS
This invention relates to a patient interface and component parts which may be integrated or form a part of an assembled interface for use by a user. In various embodiments, the component parts may include: a component may be provided as a clip for supporting a gas supply tube to the interface; a buckle may be provided at an end of a headgear strap for releasable attachment to the interface; a manifold part of a patient interface may be attachable to the interface in a manner allowing for adjustment or re-orientation such that an associated gas supply conduit is re-routed to be to a left- or a right-side of the interface (or user); one or a pair of support side arms of the interface may be configured to be twisted or bent so as to more comfortably accommodate the shape of a user's face upon which they are to be located in use; parts of a manifold at the connection of a gas supply tube to the interface may be configured to be of a multi-part manifold assembly.
"Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion"
A ureteral catheter is provided, including a drainage lumen including a proximal portion and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis, and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis, the distal portion including a retention portion for maintaining positioning of the distal portion of the drainage lumen, the retention portion including at least two openings on a sidewall of the retention portion for permitting fluid flow into the drainage lumen wherein a total area of a proximal most opening of the at least two openings is less than a total area of more distal opening(s) nearer to the distal end of the drainage lumen, and wherein when negative pressure is applied through the ureteral catheter, fluid is drawn into the ureteral catheter through the at least two openings.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECTAL ANAESTHESIA
A system and method for delivering a medicament including a catheter configured for implantation in different target tissue sites, extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and having a sidewall which defines an internal lumen. The distal end has one or more apertures in the sidewall for the release of the medicament into the target tissue site; the system also comprises a medicament reservoir fluidly communicable with the internal lumen of each catheter, an adhesive member configured to adhere to the skin of the patient around the exit wound and having an opening therein to allow the catheters to pass through the adhesive member and a retaining member configured to be overlaid on the adhesive member and comprising a guide surface configured to receive a length of the two or more catheters and a plurality of retaining portions to retain the catheters against the guide surface.
A SPLINT FOR AN INFANT
The invention relates to a splint for an infant. It has a body including an insert of a malleable material, wherein the body has a longitudinal axis, a first arm extending from an edge of the body in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; and a second arm, spaced apart from the first arm, extending from the edge of the body in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The arms wrap around the limb of the infant and provide a surface for using medical tape or the like, thus avoiding the need for the tape to come into contact with the skin of the infant. In addition, the malleable insert allows the splint to be deformed and hold its shape if the splint is to be used on a joint of the limb.
Catheter protector
There is described a protective cover for a body member of a patient having a catheter inserted therein at a catheter insertion point. A sleeve wraps around the body part over the catheter, and comprises a sleeve body covering a substantial surface of the body member. The sleeve body is made of a material that is non-rigid and flexible, to adapt to the surface of the body member. An openable window covers and provides access to the catheter when the protective cover is worn, the openable window being openable with respect to the sleeve body and fastenable by a waterproof fastener. The inner surface of the openable window is for securing an antiseptic agent, wherein the inner surface of the openable window is applied onto the catheter insertion point when the openable window is closed. The protective cover is free of any rigid member.
DEVICES FOR ASSISTING SELF-CATHETERIZATION AND METHODS FOR USING SUCH DEVICES
Devices and methods are provided to facilitate self-catheterization of a urethra. In an exemplary embodiment, the device includes an elongate anchor member comprising a proximal end and a rounded distal end to facilitate insertion into a user's vagina, a bridge extending laterally from an intermediate location of the anchor member, a guide on the bridge spaced apart from the anchor member such that the guide is aligned with the user's urethra, the guide including a passage therethrough sized to receive a urinary catheter therethrough, and a handle on the proximal end of the anchor member to facilitate manipulation by the user and consistent, accurate alignment of the guide.
Bi-directional access to tumors
An apparatus for guiding the migration of cancer and other cells includes a reservoir device, a cover, a tube, a nanofiber structure, and a lock device. The reservoir device defines a reservoir having an open top. The cover is configured for removable installation over the open top of the reservoir. The tube has a proximal end portion reaching into the reservoir. The nanofiber structure communicates an inlet port in the tube with the reservoir. The lock device interlocks the tube with the reservoir device, and also interlocks the nanofiber structure with the reservoir device.
