Negative Pressure Therapy System
A negative pressure therapy system is provided for inducing negative pressure in a portion of a urinary tract, the system including: (a) at least one ureteral catheter configured to be positioned within a ureter and/or kidney; (b) one or more sensor(s) configured to determine information about at least one of blood composition, blood flow, respiration, heart rate, glucose, protein, or creatinine; and (c) a controller configured to increase urine production by adjusting one or more operating parameters of a negative pressure source for inducing negative pressure through the at least one ureteral catheter into the urinary tract, based at least in part upon the information determined by the one or more sensor(s).
Anchor instrumentation and methods
Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system includes an anchor sleeve and a catheter (or other medical instrument) to advance though a working channel of the anchor sleeve. The anchor sleeve may have a subcutaneous cuff device arranged along an outer surface. In such circumstances, the embedded cuff device can inhibit the migration of infection from outside the skin and into the blood stream.
Device and Method to Control and Manipulate a Catheter
In various embodiments of the invention, a manipulator attaches to and allows a sheath to be positioned inside the cervix and a catheter to thereby be inserted through the sheath and be positioned in a desired location in the uterus. In various embodiments of the invention, the manipulator may be attached or permanently connected to the sheath. In various embodiments of the invention, the sheath is fenestrated to allow the catheter to be detached from the sheath. In various embodiments of the invention, the manipulator allows the sheath to be positioned through the cervix canal to allow for catheter transmitted intrauterine pressure monitoring or balloon catheter assisted ripening of the cervix.
MEDICAL DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A medical device comprising a first tube, a second tube configured to sheath at least a portion of the first tube and configured to translate along a length of the first tube, an expandable device at a distal portion of the first tube, the expandable device having a collapsed state and an expanded state, a patch surrounding at least a portion of an outer surface of the expandable device, and a connector for holding the patch to the expandable device when the second tube covers the patch and the expandable device and for releasing the patch from the expandable device after the second tube uncovers the patch and the expandable device.
MEDICAMENT CARRIER FOR THE TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF PATHOLOGICAL CONDITIONS IN THE UROGENITAL REGION
The application relates to a medicament carrier which is suitable for the treatment and prevention of pathological conditions in the urogenital region of a person, in particular in the area of the urethra. Said medicament carrier comprises a biocompatible material that cannot melt at the person's body temperature. The medicament carrier is prepared, e.g. at least partially coated, with an active substance or with a mixture of active substances. The medicament carrier is provided with a recovery string (6) for removing same from the body orifice after completion of the treatment. Active substances can be administered generally in the urogenital region using the medicament carrier. The medicament carrier can also be used for microbial reconstitution of the urogenital tract and for sterile catheterization.
Tracheostomy tube with filleted flange
Various embodiments of a tracheostomy tube having neck flanges with filleted ends are provided. In certain embodiments, the neck flange may include a fillet extending from a bottom surface of the neck flange to a tip of the neck flange. In addition, the filleted end may also be tapered from a top surface of the neck flange to the tip of the neck flange. The neck flange may also include several curved edges, such as curved edges from the tip of the neck flange to side surfaces of the neck flange, and a curved bottom surface from side surface to side surface of the neck flange.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING UMBILICAL STUMPS
A device for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: a shield having a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient; and an opening at the shield for allowing an umbilical catheter to extend therethrough. A method for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: providing a device having a shield with a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient, and wherein the device further includes an opening at the shield; shielding the umbilical stump from an environment using the shield; and accommodating an umbilical catheter using the opening at the shield.
CATHETER PLACEMENT DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS
An intravenous (IV) therapy system to facilitate the insertion of a catheter or another suitable IV device into a patient may include a band made of flexible material to be secured around a limb of a patient. The IV therapy system may include a window formed through the band to provide access to the patient's body. The IV therapy system may include a tourniquet formed within the band to selectively apply a pressure against the patient's body. The IV therapy system may include a blood vessel indicator to indicate where the catheter or other suitable IV device is to be inserted.
Catheter fixing band
Provided is a catheter fixing band for fixing a tube bent and connected to a catheter to the catheter fixing band, according to the present disclosure, a catheter fixing band includes: a body detachably fixed to a human body and having a catheter hole open to expose a portion of the human body; and a cover unit detachably attached to the body to open or close the catheter hole, in which the cover unit includes a fixing member fixing the catheter to a predetermined position of the cover unit, and has a shape forming integral concept in relation to flow of fluid in the catheter when the cover unit covers the catheter hole and the catheter is fixed to the fixing member.
External catheter stabilizer
An external catheter stabilizer device for stabilizing and retaining a catheter tube includes a base portion configured to adhesively attach at a patient, a retaining element configured to retain a catheter tube thereat, and a pivot element that pivotally attaches the retaining element to the base portion so as to allow for pivotal movement of the retaining element about a pivot axis generally normal to the patient where the base portion is attached. The retaining element includes a guide pin protruding therefrom and spaced from the pivot element. Pivotal movement of the retaining element relative to the base portion is limited to a selected range via engagement of the guide pin of the retaining element with an arcuate slot at the base portion.
