Device for attaching a catheter

A medical device for fixing a catheter to a patient is disclosed. It includes a base having a planar main development, a first face configured to be glued to a patient's skin, a second face, opposite to the first face, adapted to receive a catheter according to an axis of insertion of the catheter, and at least two pegs which rise substantially perpendicular to the second face. Each peg has a stem which rises from the second face and has a cross section suitable to freely pass through a through hole of a fin of a catheter. The peg also has an enlarged free terminal end having a cross section greater than the cross section of the stem so that it cannot freely pass through the through hole. The enlarged terminal end is able to pass through the through hole only by elastically widening the through hole.

UMBILICAL ARTERIAL CATHETERIZATION DEVICE

An umbilical arterial catherization device comprising a brace and a dilator. The brace has a body for supporting and stabilizing an umbilical cord end. The body may have resilient foam for grasping the umbilical cord, and may include a strap operable to secure part of the body to itself, after being wrapped around the umbilical cord. The dilator has a hook for engaging an open end of an arterial lumen, and a catch operable to fix the dilator to the brace in a position for dilating the arterial lumen. Both hands may be used to place the dilator while the device serves to stabilize and support the umbilical cord without use of the hands. The device may include a lighting element for illuminating the end of the umbilical cord to aid in visualization of the arterial lumen and facilitate proper placement of the catch within the arterial lumen.

Method of removing excess fluid from a patient with hemodilution

A method for removing excess fluid from a patient with hemodilution is provided. The method includes: deploying a urinary tract catheter into the patient such that flow of urine from the ureter and/or kidney is transported within a drainage lumen of the catheter; applying negative pressure to the ureter and/or kidney through the drainage lumen of the catheter to extract urine from the patient; periodically measuring a hematocrit value of the patient; and if the measured hematocrit value is greater than a predetermined threshold value, ceasing the application of the negative pressure to the ureter and/or kidney. A system for removing excess fluid from a patient with hemodilution including a ureteral catheter and a pump is also provided.

Pump, System and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion

A pump for inducing negative pressure in the ureter and/or kidney is provided. The pump is configured to be in communication with at least one lumen of at least one ureteral catheter and to draw fluid from the ureter and/or kidney into the at least one lumen of the at least one ureteral catheter for removal of the fluid from the ureter and/or kidney. The pump is configured to induce negative pressure ranging from about 0.1 mmHg to about 50 mmHg gauge pressure proximate to the pump inlet, and the pump is configured to have an accuracy of about 10 mmHg or less proximate to the pump inlet.

Ureteral and bladder catheters and methods of inducing negative pressure to increase renal perfusion

Ureteral catheters and assemblies are provided including: a drainage lumen including a proximal portion configured to be positioned in at least a portion of a patient's urethra and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's ureter and/or kidney, the distal portion including a coiled retention portion including at least a first coil having a first diameter and a second coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter; or wherein the retention portion extends radially outwardly from a portion of the distal end of the drainage lumen portion, the retention portion including a proximal end having a first diameter, a distal end having a second diameter, and a wall and/or surface extending therebetween, the retention portion having a second diameter is greater than the first diameter when deployed; or wherein the retention portion includes a plurality of drainage tubes.

An external catheter stabilizer device includes a base portion that attaches at a patient, a retaining element that retains a catheter tube, and a pivot element that pivotally attaches the retaining element to the base portion. The pivot element includes a shaft and a larger diameter head at an end of the shaft. The housing includes a key hole having a wider portion and a narrower portion. The housing is positioned at the base portion by receiving the head of the pivot element through the wider portion of the key hole and moving the shaft of the pivot element along the key hole to position the shaft of the pivot element at the narrower portion of the key hole. With the pivot element positioned at the narrower portion of the key hole, the housing maintains the pivot element at the narrower portion when the housing is closed.

A PICC line support apparatus can include a flexible conforming material forming a cylinder with a first opening and a second opening at opposite ends of the cylinder.
