An apparatus (100), having: a first body (102); a second body (104); and a rotatable joint (108) that pivotally secures the first body to the second body, wherein in a closed configuration (200) the first body is folded onto the second body via the rotatable joint; a securing feature (110) that maintains the closed configuration; a catheter sheath feature (124) that is part of at least one of the first body and the second body that geometrically locks a catheter sheath (202) between the first body and the second body in the closed configuration; and a catheter feature (126) that is part of at least one of the first body and the second body and that frictionally locks a catheter (208) that is disposed in the catheter sheath between the first body and the second body in the closed configuration.

Unitary Strain-Relieving Intravenous (IV) Anchor System

A system for strain relieving intravenous (IV) assembly includes a dressing and an anchor portion for use with the dressing. In various embodiments, the dressing may cover an injection site into a portion of a patient's body for an intravenous (IV) assembly that provides fluid communication between the injection site and a fluid reservoir remote from the injection site through a flexible tube. In an illustrative example, the anchor portion may include a first member and a second member. The first member may be secured, for example, to the dressing and may, in some examples, wrap around the tubing so as to resist axial movement of the tubing relative to the dressing. The second member may be secured to the dressing and may wrap around the tubing and a portion of the patient's body so as to resist radial movement of the tubing relative to the body.

Dressing

In one embodiment, the dressing has a base which is to be adhered to a patient about a catheter site, an aperture in the base to pull a catheter line through and a cover with a window that is folded over and onto the base in a sealed manner. In another embodiment, the dressing has two covers with windows for folding over separate sections of a base to seal in the components of a catheter assembly with multiple catheters extending from a common housing.

Wrap Systems For Medical Device Kits

Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient are disclosed. Such medical device kits can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. In accordance with present embodiments, the one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure. In one embodiment, a medical wrap assembly is disclosed, comprising a foldable wrap body that includes a front surface, wherein the front surface is configured to define a sterile field. A plurality of pockets is included on the front surface of the wrap body. The pockets are configured to contain therein a plurality of medical components. The medical components are arranged in the pockets in a predetermined order of use for the medical procedure.

FACIAL SKIN INDENTATION PREVENTER

A facial skin indentation preventer has a central base core surrounded by an entrapment flap and a securing flap. The core and flaps have at least a single layer of soft moleskin, felt, or similar material forming an outer skin-contact layer that is non-adhesive. A rigid component is attached to the outer skin-contact layer in a center of the preventer, thereby defining a central base core. The central base core can have a cannula or similar item placed thereon. The flaps are then folded inwards, over the rigid component, creating a cannula pocket above the rigid component and entrapping and holding the cannula therein. An entrapment hinge and securing hinge ensure the folds remain rounded and soft. A flap attachment is used to lock the securing flap to the entrapment flap and ensure the cannula stays within the cannula pocket.

Medical apparatus

A medical apparatus can include a garment having a body portion with an outward facing surface and an inward facing surface and defines an access opening. The access opening provides access from the outward facing surface to the inward facing surface. An anchor secured on the outward facing surface can be configured for releasable securement of a first portion of a medical device. An outer panel can span at least a portion of the access opening and define a selectively closesable pocket configured to retain a second portion of the medical device. The garment can have a sleeve that defines an opening through which a third portion of the medical device extending through the arm opening can be routed and secured.

System for anchoring medical devices

Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that receives a catheter (or other medical instrument) and secures the catheter in place relative to a skin penetration point. In some embodiments, the anchor device can secure the catheter in an operative position relative to the skin penetration point without use of sutures or skin tapes.

Foldable IV catheter securement dressing for protecting against inadvertent contamination

Sterile intravenous catheter securements and securement dressings that provide simpler, more effective, and lower risk intravenous catheter placement and securement in a patient are described. Catheter securement dressings may include one or more adhesive portions positioned and configured to maintain a position of a catheter assembly following catheterization. Catheter securement dressings may be secured to a patient with an adhesive portion, and the catheter assembly may then be placed into the patient through an access opening in the catheter securement dressing. Portions of catheter securement dressings may then by folded over and adhered to each other and portions of the catheter assembly to secure the catheter assembly to the patient.

Microneedle based stabilisation system for medical devices

A stabilisation system for securing a medical device such as a catheter to tissue, in particular skin, the stabilisation system comprising a main body having a first section and a second section displaceable relative to one another to translate the system between an undeployed state and a deployed state, each section including an array of microneedles extending from a tissue contacting surface of the body and which penetrate the skin in response to the above displacement, the stabilisation system further comprising a closure member displaceable between an open position exposing a retention zone on the body and a closed position at least partially occluding the retention zone, within which retention zone the catheter or other medical device may be captured.
