Smoke evacuation tubing assembly
A smoke evacuation tubing assembly includes a base sheet having an adhesive disposed on a top side thereof. An elongate tubing member is operably coupled with a top side of the base sheet and includes a cross-section with first and second opposing rounded sidewalls and first and second generally planar sidewalls disposed between the first and second opposing rounded sidewalls. A plurality of apertures are defined through the first rounded sidewall. A central axis of each aperture is directed downwardly toward the top side of the base sheet. A cover sheet is operably coupled with the top side of the base sheet and is configured to engage the first generally planar sidewall of the elongate tubing member.
INTRAVENOUS LINE HOLDER
Described is an apparatus for supporting an intravenous line. The apparatus includes an intravenous line housing defining an intravenous line guide. The intravenous line guide is configured to hold the intravenous line and direct the intravenous line along a reversing path and to a substantially proximally-directed entry angle for entry into a dorsal surface of a user's hand. The apparatus further includes a glove that is secured to the intravenous line housing, where the glove is configured to hold the intravenous line housing to the user's hand.
CATHETER SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
A catheter system includes abase plate having a bottom surface, an outer circumferential wall, a circular flange extending inwardly from the outer circumferential wall, and an inner ring that is spaced apart from the outer circumferential wall, extends upwardly from the bottom surface, and defines a central opening in the base plate. A catheter is placed within the central opening of the base plate. A cover is placed over and secured to the base plate. The cover has a closed upper portion defining an internal chamber of the cover and a lower portion defining an opening in the cover. The lower portion includes a skirt with a flange extending outwardly around a periphery of the skirt to engage the circular flange of the base plate and form a closed reservoir. Methods of accessing cerebrospinal fluid using the catheter systems are also provided.
MEDICAL DRESSING
A medical dressing is provided. The medical dressing includes a patch configured for adhering to a skin surface of a patient, the patch comprising a first ring formed unitarily of an elastic material, the first ring having an orifice configured to correspond with an opening in the skin surface when the patch is adhered to the skin surface, the first ring being configured to elastically adapt in size to enable longitudinal movement of a procedural device therethrough while maintaining contact with the procedural device around a periphery of the procedural device, and a sleeve in sealing connection with the first ring at a proximal portion of the sleeve, the sleeve being configured to surround the procedural device over an external length of the procedural device. The sleeve includes a second ring at a distal portion, the second ring comprising a semi-elastic material configured to grip the procedural device to seal about the periphery of the procedural device and to maintain a position along the external length of the procedural device.
GUARD FOR ADAPTOR IN AN INTRAVENOUS LINE
There is provided a guard for an intravenous adaptor. The guard comprises a polymer sheet formed of a polymer film, the polymer sheet having left, right and middle portions; tear lines within the polymer sheet, located on either side of the central extent of the middle portion; a pull strip extending lengthwise, generally parallel to the central extent and positioned between the tear lines; and an adhesive applied to a periphery of the polymer sheet and over the ends of the pull strip, the tear lines penetrating through the adhesive. The left and right portions of the polymer sheet are arranged to be folded onto each other to form a folded polymer sheet adhered by the adhesive to define a pocket, which is openable by tearing the folded polymer sheet and adhesive along the tear lines.
Subcutaneous anchor device for securing a catheter
Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that receives a medical instrument (such as a catheter or the like) and secures the instrument in place relative to a skin penetration point. In some circumstances, the anchor device may allow the anchor device to be used after medical instrument is already in place without the need for a second penetration point for the anchor device.
CATHETER SHIELD
A catheter shield is described herein. The catheter shield has a sleeve configured to receive and house a proximal end of a catheter projecting from a patient, a retention structure configured as an outer protective barrier, a first adhesive layer disposed on a bottom portion of the retention structure, wherein the first adhesive layer provides adherence to the patients skin; a second adhesive layer provided on an outer edge of the sleeve and located within a diameter of the retention structure, wherein the second adhesive layer is configured as a middle protective barrier, a third adhesive layer located within a diameter of the second adhesive, wherein the third adhesive is layer is configured as an inner protective barrier, and wherein the third adhesive layer comprises a moisture indicator posited thereon.
Systems and methods for protecting umbilical stumps
A device for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: a shield having a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient; and an opening at the shield for allowing an umbilical catheter to extend therethrough. A method for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: providing a device having a shield with a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient, and wherein the device further includes an opening at the shield; shielding the umbilical stump from an environment using the shield; and accommodating an umbilical catheter using the opening at the shield.
CATHETER HOUSING
A catheter housing device for securing a catheter and needle assembly to a patient. The device can include a cover, an IV/catheter lock, a hub, and one or more fastening straps. The device can replace conventional devices and techniques for securing a catheter and needle to a patient that utilize adhesive materials and/or methods, which are ill-equipped to solve complications including infection/contamination of the insertion site, irritation/damage to the vein or insertion site due to inappropriate angling of the catheter/needle, etc. The devices and methods disclosed herein can provide catheter/needle securement and optimal inclination, a hermetically sealed chamber to resist infection and/or contamination, inert gas or soothing anesthetic vapor drugs in and around the device, and various skin-contacting layers and structures that promote ventilation and patient comfort in and around the insertion site.
