Medical device management system
A medical device or catheter management system comprises several layers where a top layer has one or more channels to receive one or more elongated medical devices or members and a bottom layer comprises adhesive to secure the catheter management system to a patient or other secure site in the operating field. A firm upper surface causes the elongated medical devices or members to stay in the channels, whereas a firm inner layer facilitates maintaining the shape of the catheter management system and providing resistance for an operator to easily release an elongated medical device or member.
CAPS FOR NEEDLES AND CATHETERS
Needle assemblies 500 are disclosed having a multi-purpose protective cap 5. The needle assemblies 500 can embody catheter assembly 120 having a catheter hub 75 and a catheter tube 76 or a hypodermic needle 15 mounted on a needle hub 35. The multi-purpose cap 5 includes a first section 10 covering the needle 15 and a second section 20 having a base portion 40 for covering a hub, such as needle hub 35 or a catheter hub 75. The first section 10 and the second section 20 are separable from one another along a detachment line 30 and the second section 20 is re-useable as a securement device.
Modular robotic system for driving movement of surgical tools
A modular robotic surgical system includes one or more tool-receiver units arranged as separate units, each tool-receiver unit operable to move a first elongate surgical tool received therein. The device also includes a base comprising one or more motors, the base operable to move a second elongate surgical tool attached to the base or received therein, the base serving as a mounting for the one or more tool-receiver units, each of the tool-receiver units is independently and interchangeably attachable to the base via a mechanical coupling interface which transfers one or more of: driving force for driving movement of the first elongate surgical tool received within the unit; electrical power supply to one or more components of the unit which drive movement of the first elongate surgical tool received within the unit; and data for controlling movement of the first elongate surgical tool received within the unit.
Wrap Systems for Medical Device Kits
Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient are disclosed. Such medical device kits can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. In accordance with present embodiments, the one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure. In one embodiment, a medical wrap assembly is disclosed, comprising a foldable wrap body that includes a front surface, wherein the front surface is configured to define a sterile field. A plurality of pockets is included on the front surface of the wrap body. The pockets are configured to contain therein a plurality of medical components. The medical components are arranged in the pockets in a predetermined order of use for the medical procedure.
MEDICAL APPARATUS TO BE PLACED ON THE SURFACE OF A LIVING BODY AND AN INDWELLING DEVICE THAT INCLUDES SUCH A MEDICAL APPARATUS
A medical apparatus to be placed on the surface of a living body includes a main body, a main-body-side attaching sheet, and a plate-shaped intermediate member that is configured to be elastically deformable and is stacked between the main body and the main-body-side attaching sheet. The intermediate member includes a base, and a central piece and an arm piece extending in parallel from the base. The intermediate member is fixed to the main-body-side attaching sheet from the base to the central piece, and is fixed to the main body from the base to the arm piece. The central piece is not fixed to the main body, and the arm piece is not fixed to the attaching member.
DENTAL SUCTION DEVICE
The present invention relates to a dental suction device for managing fluid in a patient's mouth during a dental procedure. The dental suction device comprises a pliable tube having a first end for connection to a vacuum source and a second end that can be looped to form a suction end for positioning in a patient's mouth. The loop is adjustably secured by a pair of retaining collars positioned a certain distance apart from each other along the second end of the tube and connected together by a tie. The loop, adjusted to accommodate the shape of the patient's mouth, is secured around the terminal end of a row of teeth in the patient's mouth. In this way, the dental suction device can be maintained and operated in the patient's mouth during a dental procedure.
Interlocking low profile gripping device
A low profile gripping device having a locking assembly attached to a base, wherein the locking assembly comprises a locking strap with pairs of fins disposed for insertion into an aperture of a buckle. The locking assembly comprises an offset anchor block having opposing sides, the locking strap attached to one side, and the buckle attached to the opposing side. The interface between the locking strap and the anchor block forms a groove for seating a flexible polymer tube or polymer coated cable. The groove is located above the base such that the seated tube or cable is substantially centered above the base. The locking strap is inserted through the aperture to secure the tube or cable in the groove, and the fins retain the locking strap in fixed relation to the buckle.
Catheter securement device including extended anchor pad and release liner clasping features
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a securement device including a retainer defining a channel and at least one mounting wing extending therefrom. The mounting wing extends distally of an insertion site a skin surface adjacent to the insertion site to prevent “rocking” or “pistoning.” The mounting wing further includes channels of reduced thickness configured to impart malleable properties on the mounting wing. This can allow the mounting wing to be shaped to fit different portions of the patient. The retainer further includes various locking and anti-rotational features to guide the catheter into position within the retainer and further prevent “rocking” or “pistoning.” The securement device also includes a protective pad to inhibit abrasions from a medical line, spin nuts, and the like, and includes a clasping feature to retain a portion of the release liner to prevent obstructing ingress/egress of the catheter.
Offset catheter securement device
A catheter securement device adapted to be adhesively mounted to the skin of a patient to secure a catheter in place, the device having a flexible, thin, sheet-like base member with a distal edge and a midportion, and a releasable, flexible, thin, sheet-like retention member comprising a fixed end, a releasable end, a and a distal edge, wherein the distal edge of the retention member is offset from the distal edge of the base member to define an uplift focus area in the midportion of the base member, such that upward pull on the catheter is transferred to the midportion of the base member to preclude the base member from being peeled from the patient's skin.
Sealed sterile catheter dressings
Devices and methods are provided for sealing a catheter insertion site to maintain sterility. In one embodiment, a catheter dressing is provided that includes an adhesive plate configured for attachment to the skin of a patient and a flexible sheath that extends proximally from the adhesive plate. The sheath can be capable of longitudinal extension from a compressed to an extended state and can be configured in its extended state to surround an external segment of a catheter implanted in the patient and circumferentially seal to a portion of the external segment at a distance from the adhesive plate. The dressing can also be configured to restrict longitudinal movement of the catheter while at the same time permitting non-longitudinal movement. One-piece rigid or semi-rigid dressing bodies are also disclosed, as are various methods and devices for facilitating removal and or replacement of a catheter dressing.
