HOLDING MECHANISM ASSEMBLY
A holding mechanism assembly 1 includes: a tubular inserting member 2; a fixing device 3 having a fixing portion 31 and a communicating portion 32; and a holding structure 4 to hold the inserting member 2 to the fixing device 3 in a liquid tight manner. The communicating portion 32 has a first opening 321 opened toward the outside of the living body; a second opening 322 opened toward the inside of the living body; and a communication path 323 formed between the first opening 321 and the second opening 322. An outer surface 2a of the inserting member 2 has a covered region A1 covered with fiber that can guide cells and a non-covered region A2 not covered with fiber, and the non-covered region A2 extends between the holding structure 4 and the second opening 322.
Endotracheal tube securement devices and methods
ET securement devices and methods are provided wherein the ET securement devices generally include two portions: a first portion for securing an ET tube and a second portion for attaching to the patient. The first portion is configured to releasably attach to the second portion to secure the ET tube relative to the patient.
CATHETER MANAGEMENT DEVICE
An elongate shaft management device has an upper plate and a lower plate. The lower plate has at least one groove that is sized to receive the elongate shaft. The at least one groove in the lower plate cooperates with the upper plate to capture the elongate shaft and prevent movement of the elongate shaft. The upper plate is releasably coupled to the lower plate to provide access to the elongate shaft and allow it to be manipulated.
Catheter anchor system and method thereof
A method and system of and for securing a lumen or catheter, after placement in a patient, to prevent unwanted removal or dislodgement of the lumen or catheter caused by patient movement and/or further medical interventions such as cardiopulmonary chest compressions, electrical defibrillation, surgical procedures, and the like. The method and system comprising simple and sterile materials that preclude the use of excessive suturing and ineffective ad-hoc methods with tape and gauze. The catheter is secured by a rubber on plastic frictional force and will resist external forces while preventing the tube structure from bending and subsequent occlusion. The device can be comfortably attached to the patient in all of the anatomical locations typically targeted for large catheter installment. The method of securement is rapid and requires only a single personnel to handle the device and the catheter tube simultaneously.
SURGERY PILLOW AND DEVICE COMBINING ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE HOLDER, BITE GUARD, AND PATIENT EYE PROTECTOR
A surgery apparatus includes a resilient foam pillow having an arrangement of labeled tabs for holding lines leading to/from a patient during and after surgery. A central cutout area in the pillow accommodates the patient's eyes, nose and mouth when in the prone position. Left and right channels in the foam pillow extend from a top edge of the pillow to the central cutout area for holding a breathing tube system. The foam pillow further includes a removably attachable chest support and opposite shoulder supports. A multipurpose holder device for placement on the patient's head has an arrangement of straps for securing an eye shield, a bite block and ventilator tube securing straps on the patient during surgery.
ANTIMICROBIAL LIGHT-EMITTING PERCUTANEOUS SITE DRESSING
An antimicrobial light dressing device, system and method for a percutaneous treatment that bathes a treatment region around the percutaneous insertion with an antibacterial illumination source for preventing pathogens around the insertion from entering via the dermal puncture created by the insertion. The antimicrobial light dressing device combines a circumferential body centered around the insertion, and an arrangement of LEDs around the body that focus the light around the insertion and onto a therapeutic region of the insertion. An opening in the circumferential body has an articulated protrusion for offsetting a medicinal vessel such as an IV tube off the skin surface to avoid blocking light to an area under the vessel.
Fixation Devices for Catheters
Fixation devices are disclosed herein that can be used to secure to a catheter and to tissue. The fixation devices include a body having a bore extending therethrough to receive a catheter. The fixation devices can also include suture openings or grooves to secure the devices to tissue.
INTEGRATED PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING AND TISSUE ANCHORING DEVICE
An integrated physiological monitoring and tissue anchoring device is provided. The device includes a detachable clamp at the distal portion that includes a sensor configured to sense a physiological parameter from the gastrointestinal tract. A handle at the proximal portion of the device is configured to actuate the clamp into a closed configuration in which gastrointestinal tissue is grasped by the clamp. A cable connects the handle to the clamp and has a frangible section near the clamp such that the clamp is detachable from the cable at the frangible section.
Drainage tubing management device
A drainage tubing management device is provided. The drainage tubing management device generally comprises a body including a planar field, and having plural pairs of spaced-apart protrusions extending from said field, each pair of protrusions sized to accept flexible drainage tubing therebetween, wherein pairs of the protrusions are arranged in at least first and second rows such that drainage tubing may be retained with respect to said body along the first and second rows, at least one aperture in said body, and a securement mechanism comprising one or more of (a) a post having a longitudinal axis, said post being insertable through within said aperture and having a terminal flange occluding passage of said post through said aperture, said post being sufficiently rigid to support said body and (b) a flexible hanging strap insertable through said aperture and having a terminal flange occluding passage of said strap through said aperture.
PATIENT ACCESS SITE SECUREMENT SYSTEM
A patient access site securement system includes a housing with an inlet, an outlet and an internal fluid path between the inlet and the outlet. The housing also has a connecting portion that connects to a catheter and/or a fluid line attached to the catheter. A contact surface is located on an underside of the housing and positions the patient access site securement system on the patient. A first reservoir with an interior holds a liquid and transitions from a first state to a second state. The interior is in fluid communication with the inlet when the reservoir is in the second state to allow the liquid to flow from the inlet, through the internal fluid path and exit the outlet. The liquid interacts with the contact surface and/or the patient to alter a level of securement between the catheter and the patient.
