SECUREMENT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR CENTRAL VENOUS ACCESS DEVICES AND SURGICAL DRAINS
A securement assembly for supporting and stabilizing a vascular access device, such as a tunneled central venous access devices (CVAD) or a surgical drain, is provided herein. The securement assembly may comprise a base and a lid. The base may include a central post about/around which the external portion of the access device or surgical drain may be wrapped. The lid may extend from the base and may be configured to cover the external portion of the access device or surgical drain (when installed). In various embodiments, the base and the lid collectively define an annular chamber around the central post of the base.
Apparatus to couple a drainage reservoir to a body of a patient
An apparatus to couple a drainage reservoir to a patient is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a device having, a first end, a second end, and a tab with an orifice. The first end comprises an adhesive surface. Further, the apparatus includes a clip attached to the orifice in the tab of the device. The first end of the device is attached to the body of the patient, and the clip is coupled to the strap on the drainage reservoir such that the drainage reservoir is coupled to the body of the patient with the help of the device and the included clip.
DEVICE FOR SECURING A PERIPHERAL VENOUS CATHETER
A device for securing a peripheral venous catheter, including a body comprising first and second fastening extremities and a connecting section that interconnects said fastening extremities, the latter feature a tubular shape and comprising corresponding first and second longitudinal grooves; a portion of the catheter may be inserted through said grooves to grasp the same in a folded manner, the connecting section comprises first and second portions extending between the longitudinal grooves, in such a way that the fastening extremities and the portions of the connecting section form a closed perimeter outline defining a hollow internal space adapted to be set between an open position and a closed position, where, the hollow internal space being open, the portion of the catheter may be inserted for the attachment thereof to the fastening extremities, and then secured to the latter when the hollow internal space is closed.
CATHETER INTERFACE PROTECTION DEVICE MANIPULATION TOOLS
A tool for manipulating a catheter interface protection device includes a base, a first arm extending from the base, and a second arm extending from the base. The first arm includes an outwardly projecting first hook configured to engage a first vent of a catheter interface protection device. The second arm includes an outwardly projecting second hook configured to engage a second vent of the catheter interface protection device. A method of manipulating a catheter interface protection device includes positioning the base around the catheter interface protection device so that the first arm is on a first side of a slot of the catheter interface protection device and the second arm on a second side of the slot of the catheter interface protection device opposite the first side, and bending the catheter interface protection device from the slot towards and around the first hook to create an opening.
SHEATH/CATHETER SECURING DEVICE
An apparatus (100), having: a first body (102); a second body (104); and a rotatable joint (108) that pivotally secures the first body to the second body, wherein in a closed configuration (200) the first body is folded onto the second body via the rotatable joint; a securing feature (110) that maintains the closed configuration; a catheter sheath feature (124) that is part of at least one of the first body and the second body that geometrically locks a catheter sheath (202) between the first body and the second body in the closed configuration; and a catheter feature (126) that is part of at least one of the first body and the second body and that frictionally locks a catheter (208) that is disposed in the catheter sheath between the first body and the second body in the closed configuration.
Radial artery sheath assembly
A radial artery sheath assembly includes a cuff that is wearable around a patient's wrist and a receiver is integrated into the cuff. The cuff is inflatable to compress an incision in the patient's wrist to achieve homeostasis for stopping bleeding. A ring is removably attachable to the cuff and a radial sheath is extendable through the ring to retain the radial sheath in the incision in the user's wrist when the ring is attached to the cuff. The ring is inflatable for compressing the radial sheath in the ring to inhibit the radial sheath from being removed from the incision. A lock is coupled to the ring and the lock releasably engages the receiver in the cuff for attaching the ring to the cuff.
VENTRICULAR DRAIN OR SHUNT ASSSEMBLY WITH RECORDING ELECTRODE
A device is configured to receive a catheter. The catheter may be a catheter of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt or an external ventricular drain. The device includes (ii) an upper flange having an opening, and (ii) elongate body defining a lumen in communication with the opening. The catheter may be inserted through the opening and the lumen. The device includes an electrode disposed on the elongate body. When the device is implanted in a subject, the upper flange rests on a skull of the subject adjacent to a burr hole, the elongate body is inserted through the burr hole, and the electrode is positioned intracranially in the subject.
System for anchoring medical devices
Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that receives a catheter (or other medical instrument) and secures the catheter in place relative to a skin penetration point. In some embodiments, the anchor device can secure the catheter in an operative position relative to the skin without the use of sutures or skin tapes. In particular embodiments, the anchor device can be adjusted to a folded condition so that subcutaneous anchors are partially rotated prior to removal from the skin penetration point.
Method of stabilizing catheter tube using stabilizing device
A method of stabilizing a tube at a stoma of a patient includes providing a stabilizing device having a base portion and a tube holding portion that is attached at the base portion via at least two legs and that, with the base portion affixed to the patient, is spaced from the stoma of the patient. The tube holding portion has a passageway therethrough that is configured to receive the tube that passes through the stoma. The tube holding portion may be adjusted to position the tube in a free-flow orientation or a restricted-flow orientation. The tube holding portion may include a disinfecting wiping element. The stabilizing device may have pads coupled to respective legs via an elastomeric connecting element to allow for adjustment of the pads relative to the legs. The tube holding portion may include flexible tabs that deflect to enlarge an effective diameter of the passageway.
