Catheter anchor system and method thereof

A method and system of and for securing a lumen or catheter, after placement in a patient, to prevent unwanted removal or dislodgement of the lumen or catheter caused by patient movement and/or further medical interventions such as cardiopulmonary chest compressions, electrical defibrillation, surgical procedures, and the like. The method and system comprising simple and sterile materials that preclude the use of excessive suturing and ineffective ad-hoc methods with tape and gauze. The catheter is secured by a rubber on plastic frictional force and will resist external forces while preventing the tube structure from bending and subsequent occlusion. The device can be comfortably attached to the patient in all of the anatomical locations typically targeted for large catheter installment. The method of securement is rapid and requires only a single personnel to handle the device and the catheter tube simultaneously.

An apparatus for providing dialysis is described. The apparatus is a patch which provides structural support to a blood vessel, such as vein or fistula. The patch provides a location for puncturing the blood vessel with a needle, either at the puncture site or on the back side to prevent the needle from going through the blood vessel. The patch may also be palpated, allowing health care provider to easily locate a preferred puncture site.

Fixation Devices for Catheters

Fixation devices are disclosed herein that can be used to secure to a catheter and to tissue. The fixation devices include a body having a bore extending therethrough to receive a catheter. The fixation devices can also include suture openings or grooves to secure the devices to tissue.

SYSTEM FOR ANCHORING MEDICAL DEVICES

Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that receives a catheter (or other medical instrument) and secures the catheter in place relative to a skin penetration point. In some embodiments, the anchor device can secure the catheter in an operative position relative to the skin penetration point without use of sutures or skin tapes.

Beginning with symptomatic indicia sensors, data is analyzed and passed up through successively higher-level nodes that generate a cross-morbidity view passed up to an implanted microprocessor which effectuates a release of drugs calculated to optimize homeostasis.

Dual lumen sheath for arterial access

A sheath assembly for the insertion of a percutaneous pump includes a tubular sheath body dimensioned for insertion into a blood vessel through a vessel aperture. The tubular sheath body includes a wall having a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, a longitudinal axis, an outer surface, an inner surface defining a first lumen substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, and a second lumen disposed within the wall between the inner surface and the outer surface and extending from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion. The first lumen is dimensioned to allow passage of a portion of the percutaneous pump, and the second lumen is dimensioned for passage of a guidewire. A stylet is removably positioned to substantially occlude the second lumen. The stylet has a proximal end releasably secured to the sheath assembly.

A catheter securement device includes a body having a generally curved channel configured to receive a central venous catheter and reposition it in a different direction than the direction of the catheter as it exits the skin of the patient. The securement device includes a cover that slidably connects to the securement device body to prevent the catheter from being pulled out of the curved channel.

The volume of the disc has a three-dimensional network of interconnected micropores forming microchannels connecting both external faces of the disc through the external micropores to the internal flexible mesh wherein the flexible mesh is formed by crossed longitudinal and radial elements or plates which form a plurality of holes.
