A catheter assembly is disclosed, which includes a catheter; a catheter hub fixed to a base end portion of the catheter; an inner needle having a needlepoint, inserted into the catheter; a needle hub coupled to the inner needle; a needle support portion configured to support the inner needle through the catheter on a leading end side beyond the catheter hub, the needle support portion having a pair of support arms openable and closeable in a lateral direction; a restraining portion capable of restraining the pair of support arms in a closed state and releasing a restraint of the pair of support arms; and wherein the restraining portion is movable with respect to the pair of support arms by a distal movement of the catheter hub relative to the inner needle, which releases the restraint with respect to the pair of support arms.

CATHETER DEVICE AND CATHETER PACKAGE

Provided are a catheter device and a catheter package which are capable of preventing a bend from being formed in a catheter body.

The catheter body includes a wire state discrimination portion which discriminates a protruding state and a non-protruding state, in which the wire state discrimination portion includes a stopper which allows a transition from the protruding state to the non-protruding state, and blocks a transition from the non-protruding state to the protruding state.

Central Venous Cannulation Device and Method

A device and method are disclosed for intravenous cannulation. The device employs a spring to precisely and accurately control the force and velocity imparted to a piercing needle, with mechanical constraints built into the device to precisely and accurately control the distance through which the piercing needle travels. A sheathed-needle configuration is used with an outer, echogenic needle that can be seen via ultrasound; and an inner needle used to pierce the vein. The operator releases the piercing needle with a controlled velocity, controlled force, and controlled travel distance. The device reduces the human error and complications that have previously been associated with manually piercing a vein for cannulation.

Medical device with anti-rotation push tab

A catheter system may include a catheter hub, a septum disposed within the catheter hub, a catheter tube extending from the catheter hub, a needle hub, and an introducer needle secured within the needle hub. The catheter hub may include a push tab and one or more ribs, which may extend outwardly from an upper surface of the catheter hub. The ribs may be shorter in height than the push tab and/or may be generally parallel to the push tab. The introducer needle may include a flashback notch. In response to insertion of the introducer needle into vasculature, blood may flow into the introducer needle, through the flashback notch, and into a flashback chamber disposed between the septum and the catheter tube. The flashback chamber may be disposed distal to the push tab and the ribs, which may improve visualization of the flashback chamber by a user.

Splitable Tissue Cutting Device

Tissue-cutting devices and methods thereof, where a tissue-cutting device is coupleable with a needle used to define a needle tract. The tissue-cutting device includes a blade that cuts the skin during insertion of the device in a needle track to enlarge to needle tract. The tissue-cutting device can be configured for lateral separation from an elongate medical device (e.g., a guidewire). The tissue-cutting device can include a channel for receiving the elongate medical device. The channel can be configured to (i) retain the elongate medical device within the channel in the absence of a deliberate action by the clinician and (ii) facilitate lateral removal of the elongate medical device from the channel in response to the deliberate action. A needle assembly includes a needle coupled with the tissue-cutting device. The tissue-cutting device may include a sheath extending along a distal portion of the tissue-cutting device.

Removable Skin Nicking Blade for Catheter Placement System
20230277814 · 2023-09-07 ·

A catheter placement system including a removable skin nicking device coupled with a catheter, e.g., a Rapidly Insertable Central Catheter. The skin nicking device includes a handle and a blade extending therefrom. The blade is disposed within a notch extending along a dilation section of the catheter. The blade includes a radially outward directed sharp edge configured to cut the skin adjacent a catheter insertion site. A distal end of the blade is disposed within the notch to prevent a skin bridge during insertion of the catheter. A needle is inserted into an access lumen of the catheter via a needle access port and an access guidewire is disposed within a lumen of the needle. An advancement guidewire is also disposed within the access lumen.

Catheter assembly with guidewire, catheter and puncture needle

A catheter assembly includes a catheter, a catheter hub fixed to a proximal end portion of the catheter, a hollow inner needle removably located in the catheter and including a distal end portion at which is located a needlepoint to puncture skin of a patient, and a guide wire slidably positioned in the inner needle. The guide wire is longer than both the inner needle and the catheter. A wire operating member is connected to the guide wire and is displaceable in a forward direction relative to the inner needle and the catheter. A main body is detachably connected to the catheter hub and includes a finger-engaging projection at a distal portion of the main body that is engageable by a user's finger to advance the main body and the catheter in the forward direction.

A catheter assembly includes a catheter having a main lumen and a sub lumen and an inner needle inserted through and disposed in the main lumen and allowing blood to flow in the proximal direction of the catheter from a needle tip exposed at the distal end of the catheter. The gap between an outer peripheral surface of the inner needle and a first inner peripheral surface of the main lumen continuous with the distal end of the catheter is narrower than the gap between the outer peripheral surface of the inner needle and a second inner peripheral surface closer to the proximal end side than the first inner peripheral surface.
