Balloon catheter
A balloon catheter is provided, which includes a balloon guide tube, a balloon moving part, and a bending adjustment part for bending an end of the balloon guide tube, wherein the bending adjustment part includes first and second wires of which one ends are fixed to a ring part, respectively, and a steering handle to which the other ends of the first and second wires are fixed, the central portion of the steering handle is positioned on an extension line from a center line of the balloon guide tube, the other ends of the first and second wires are respectively inserted into wire guide holes of the steering handle formed at a same distance from the central portion of the steering handle, and a plane formed by the first and second wires is perpendicular to the central portion of the steering handle.
Subintimal catheter device, assembly and related methods
Catheter devices, assemblies and related methods for percutaneous crossing of an occlusion in a blood vessel are disclosed. A catheter device can include a central catheter, two side tubes, and a distally-protruding, curved subintimal guidewire. The central catheter can define a central lumen that extends from a proximal end to a distal end of the central catheter. The lumen can be configured to receive a primary guidewire. The central catheter can also define at least one reentry aperture oriented transverse to the central lumen. The first and second side tubes can be coupled with the central catheter, extending along a longitudinal axis thereof, with the first side tube flanking an opposite side of the central catheter relative to the second side tube. The subintimal guidewire can extend from the first side tube, distally beyond the distal end of the central catheter, to the second side tube.
INTRODUCER ASSEMBLY PARTICULARLY FOR BALLOON CATHETERS
An introducer assembly (10) includes a catheter (12) having a proximal end (14), a distal end (16) extending to a distal tip of the introducer assembly, and an outer catheter wall. The catheter (12) includes a medical device holding portion (34) proximate the distal end, a guide wire lumen (100) extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a side opening (50) extending through the outer wall to the guide wire lumen. The side opening (50) and the guide wire lumen (100) are simultaneously open and the guide wire lumen and side opening are able to receive a guide wire therethrough. The catheter (12) is flexible at least in the location of the side opening, such that a guide wire (28) fed from the distal end (16) can pass through to the proximal end (14) when the catheter is substantially straight and can pass from the distal end through the side opening (50) when the catheter is curved at the location of the side opening. The catheter (12) also includes a plurality of one stiffening mandrel lumens (104, 106) extending from the proximal end (14) and a plurality of stiffening mandrels sized to fit within the stiffening mandrel lumens and in some forms able to slide therewithin and in other forms enclosed within the stiffening mandrel lumens. The mandrels have different lengths disposed along the length of the catheter and can be of substantially uniform diameter.
TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENLARGING NARROW PORTION
A treatment system includes a guide, tubular dilator members, an operation portion, and a holding portion. The guide extends linearly or curvilinearly. The dilator members pass the guide inside and are configured to move forward along the guide. The operation portion is configured to sequentially move the plurality of dilator members from a proximal end side of the guide to a distal end side of the guide. The holding portion is provided on the guide. A distance between outer edges of the holding portion in a direction intersecting a direction from the proximal end side toward the distal end side of the guide is larger or is configured to be larger than a distance between outer edges of the guide.
CATHETER WITH MOVABLE INDICATOR
An apparatus for performing a medical procedure is provided. A catheter includes a tubular body having a plurality of markings indicative of a distance to an end portion of the catheter. A movable indicator repositionable on the tubular body to indicate a position of at least one of the plurality of markings. The indicator may also be provided with a magnifier for facilitating reading any indicia on the catheter.
Methods and devices for facilitating visualization in a surgical environment
Devices and methods for visually confirming the positioning of a distal end portion of an illuminating device placed within a patient include inserting a distal end portion of an illuminating device internally into a patient, emitting light from the distal end portion of the illuminating device, observing transillumination resulting from the light emitted from the distal end portion of the illuminating device that occurs on an external surface of the patient, and correlating the location of the observed transillumination on the external surface of the patient with an internal location of the patient that underlies the location of observed transillumination, to confirm positioning of the distal end portion of the illuminating device.
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Hollow Guidewire with Balloon
A medical probe includes a hollow guidewire, a balloon, and a magnetic position sensor. The hollow guidewire is configured for insertion into a channel of an organ of a patient. The balloon is fixed to a distal end of the hollow guidewire, is configured to be inserted into the channel using the hollow guidewire, and is further configured to be inflated by pumping of fluid through the hollow guidewire. The magnetic position sensor is fitted at the distal end of the hollow guidewire.
INTRAVASCULAR DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS TO ADDRESS EYE DISORDERS
A method may include accessing an artery in communication with an ophthalmic artery of a subject, and advancing a microcatheter along the accessed artery so as to align a distal end of the microcatheter with an ostium of the ophthalmic artery, wherein the microcatheter includes a lumen having a guidewire positioned therein. In addition, the method includes proximally withdrawing the guidewire relative to the microcatheter so as to enable a distal portion of the microcatheter to assume a curved relaxed configuration, and cannulating the ostium with the distal portion of the microcatheter when the distal portion is in the curved relaxed configuration.
