ARTERIOTOMY POSITIONING DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE THEREFOR
20220211991 · 2022-07-07 ·

A method and device for positioning an expandable support in a blood vessel is disclosed herein. The device may include a handle, a catheter assembly, a core wire, and an expandable support. The expandable support may be used to position the device relative to the arteriotomy, as well as to provide temporary hemostasis. The expandable support may be attached to the catheter assembly at a first end, and to the core wire at a second end to optimize the width of the expandable support based on the function being performed by the expandable support at a given time. The catheter assembly may be able to move relative to the handle and the core wire, thereby moving the first end of the expandable support relative to the handle and the core wire.

ELECTRICALLY ENHANCED RETRIEVAL OF MATERIAL FROM VESSEL LUMENS
20220218372 · 2022-07-14 ·

Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to the thrombectomy system. The system can include a catheter having a distal portion configured to be positioned adjacent to a thrombus in a blood vessel, an electrode disposed at the distal portion of the catheter, and an interventional element configured to be delivered through a lumen of the catheter. The electrode and the interventional element are each configured to be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal power supply.

SINUPLASTY INSTRUMENT WITH DEFLECTABLE GUIDE RAIL

An apparatus includes a body, a first shaft, an actuation assembly, and a dilation catheter. The first shaft includes a malleable distal portion. The actuation assembly includes a second shaft and an actuator. The second shaft is coaxially positioned about the first shaft. The actuator is operable to selectively bend the malleable distal portion of the first shaft. The dilation catheter is coaxially interposed between the first shaft and the second shaft. The dilation catheter includes an expandable dilator. The dilation catheter is operable to translate along the malleable distal portion of the first shaft.

A treatment system includes a guide, tubular dilator members, an operation portion, and a holding portion. The guide extends linearly or curvilinearly. The dilator members pass the guide inside and are configured to move forward along the guide. The operation portion is configured to sequentially move the plurality of dilator members from a proximal end side of the guide to a distal end side of the guide. The holding portion is provided on the guide. A distance between outer edges of the holding portion in a direction intersecting a direction from the proximal end side toward the distal end side of the guide is larger or is configured to be larger than a distance between outer edges of the guide.

RADIALLY ADJUSTABLE STENT GRAFT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE

A stent graft delivery system and method for implanting a stent graft includes and employs at least one control rod that extends along a luminal wall of a stent graft and at least one ligature. The ligature extends about radial stents. Rotation of the control rod or a tube extending about the control rod wraps the ligature about the control rod, thereby radial constricting the stent about which the ligature extends.

A portable hand-held medical device includes a body having a gun-type formation that includes a barrel. A guide wire device is housed in the body and is configured to advance and retract through the barrel. The guide wire device carries a bundled arrangement including a video system, an illumination system to support the video system, a fluid irrigation line, and a guide wire mechanism. The bundled arrangement is packaged as a unit in an insertion tube. The tip section of the insertion tube incorporates a camera, a light source, and a fluid irrigation port. A catheter is disposed at the end of the barrel, so that during operation the guide wire device passes through the catheter lumen. The combination guide wire device and catheter enter the urinary tract and perform a bladder evacuation process.

GUIDEWIRE FOR DILATING EUSTACHIAN TUBE VIA MIDDLE EAR

A guidewire includes a guidewire shaft and an inflatable element arranged at a distal end of the guidewire shaft. At least a portion of the guidewire shaft is formed of metal, and the guidewire shaft includes a lumen that fluidly communicates with an interior of the inflatable element. The inflatable element is operable to transition between a deflated state in which the inflatable element is configured to pass through an isthmus of a Eustachian tube (ET), and an inflated state in which the inflatable element is configured to dilate the ET.

This medical device (Li-VanThiel tube) is designed to add 21st century technologies to a 20th century device in order to ease application and increase safety. The current Shengstaken-Blakemore tube is very difficult to use and dangerous to deploy. The Li-VanThiel tube utilizes guided tube insertion, inflates by using a pressure regulated pre-charged air canister, It has a smaller pre-deployment diameter and a variable stiffness tube feature to overcome the short comings of the old design.
