Patient specific guide wire method
10967148 · 2021-04-06 ·

A guide wire control device and methods of use are described herein. A novel method for optimizing a guide wire for a patient is described. The method includes steps of scanning a patient's anatomy and then fabricating, or selecting, a guide wire with optimal geometry for a particular patient and/or procedure. The guide wire may optionally be secured to a guide wire control device for improved control during transcatheter surgical procedures.

An apparatus includes a tube configured for insertion into a body of a subject, the tube comprising a plurality of strips, which are angled obliquely with respect to a longitudinal axis of the tube, by virtue of the tube being shaped to define a plurality of slits having respective oblique proximal ends and respective oblique distal ends. The distal end of each of the slits is nested between the proximal end of a first other one of the slits and the proximal end of a second other one of the slits such that (i) one of the strips is disposed between the distal end of the slit and the proximal end of the first other one of the slits, and (ii) another one of the strips is disposed between the distal end of the slit and the proximal end of the second other one of the slits.

Force measurement instrument for sinuplasty procedure

A dilation instrument includes a body, a dilation catheter, a guide member, and a force sensor. The dilation catheter has an expandable dilator. The guide member extends distally from the body and is configured to guide movement of the expandable dilator. The force sensor is operatively connected to the guide member and is configured to sense a force imparted against the guide member for monitoring engagement with an anatomy of a patient.

GUIDE WIRE HOLDER

A guide wire holder includes a sheath having a lumen, an operation wire which is inserted through the lumen to be able to advance and retract, and a hook which is continuous with a distal end of the operation wire and protrudes from a distal end of the sheath, wherein the sheath has an inner wall surface which forms a groove configured to extend from the distal end of the sheath to a proximal end side of the sheath, the groove has an opening portion which opens to an outer peripheral surface of the sheath, the hook has a guide wire engagement surface which is engageable with a guide wire, and the guide wire is able to be held between the guide wire engagement surface and the inner wall surface.

DELIVERY DEVICES FOR DELIVERING AND METHODS OF DELIVERING COMPOSITIONS

Disclosed embodiments relate to devices and related methods for delivering a composition to a subject. In some embodiments, a device may include a catheter coupled to a handle. The handle may include proximal and distal handle portions that are moveable relative to one another to selectively expose a needle at a distal end of the catheter. The proximal handle portion may include a container coupling and a grip extending proximally from the container coupling.

A built-in front wheel with a guidewire inside that can be advanced easily with one finger (usually the index finger, but variations are allowed based on preference). Once the guidewire is in the vein, the user can then use his/her same finger to advance the plastic catheter by use of a push off tab. A built-in all-in-one IV catheter system that has a front wheel in the usual grip position that allows for guidewire advancement while using IV catheters. A blood flash chamber can be incorporated into the system, method or device to indicate engagement between the catheter and the vein of the patient, and indicate the timing of the use of the wheel to move the guidewire.

Dilation system with illuminating orientation indicator features

An apparatus includes a body and a dilation catheter operatively coupled with the body and configured to translate between proximal and distal positions. The dilation catheter includes a dilation member configured to dilate an anatomical passageway when the dilation catheter is in the distal position. A guide catheter is coupled to the body and defines a longitudinal axis. The guide catheter is selectively positionable in a plurality of rotational orientations about the longitudinal axis relative to the body, and is configured to guide the dilation catheter therethrough between the proximal and distal positions. The apparatus further includes at least one illuminating indicator feature configured to emit light to facilitate positioning of the guide catheter in one or more of the rotational orientations.

Devices and methods obtain and use endovascular electrograms in a number of clinical applications and settings. In one embodiment, methods for triggering analysis of an endovascular ECG waveform are based on the detection of a peak in a skin-based ECG waveform in order to determine a location of an indwelling medical device, such as a catheter. In another embodiment, the position of a catheter or other medical device within the vasculature can be determined by analysis of the energy profile of a detected P-wave. In yet other embodiments, magnetic connecting devices are used for establishing an operable connection through a sterile field.
