A battery pack (e.g., a battery pack for marine environments) can include a lower enclosure having an upper wall and defining a cavity, a plurality of battery cells positioned within the cavity, a radiator assembly positioned above the upper wall of the lower enclosure, a vent in the upper wall of the cavity, and/or a valve configured to selectively facilitate fluid communication between the cavity and the radiator assembly via the vent. In some embodiments, the valve is configured to open in response to increased pressure in the cavity resulting from a thermal runaway event. In some embodiments, the radiator is configured to create a tortuous path and collect flammable particulates from the thermal runaway event.

The housing comprises a safety valve or vent configured to allow gas build up within the housing to vent outside the housing, and a felt filter covering the safety valve or vent, such that gas may pass through the felt filter, but sparks are contained within the felt filter.

The housing comprises a safety valve or vent to allow gas build up within the housing to vent outside the housing, and a fabric envelope surrounding the housing. Any sparks generated by the battery are contained within the fabric envelope, thereby reducing or eliminating the chances of fire or explosion.

A housing outlet is arranged in the housing, which outlet is configured so as to discharge gas out of the interior in an outgoing direction to the diffuser element. The outgoing direction is directed from the housing outlet towards the head face. The diffuser outlets are arranged on the side faces.
