A reconfigurable quadrature coupler is disclosed. The reconfigurable quadrature coupler includes an input port transmission line connected to a first port, a coupled port transmission line and a coupled port transformer connected between the coupled port transmission line and a second port. The coupled port transformer is configured to have a selectable second port reflection coefficient. The reconfigurable quadrature coupler further includes an isolation port transmission line and an isolation port transformer connected between the isolation transmission line and a third port. The isolation port transformer is configured to have a selectable third port reflection coefficient. Also included is a through port transmission line and a through port transformer connected between the through port transmission line and a fourth port. The through port transformer is configured to have a selectable fourth port reflection coefficient.

The present disclosure provides a dual-band dual-polarization splitter connecting a cross-shaped waveguide power divider to with an E-plane waveguide magic T and an ortho-mode transition through an E/H-plane 90° curved waveguide to form a new type of coaxial waveguide ortho-mode transition, thereby implementing the structure of coaxial circular waveguide feeding in high and low frequencies at the same time, reducing the length of the high-frequency transmission line, and reducing the transmission loss. Meanwhile, the present disclosure implements dual-polarization transmission in each frequency band, and can flexibly switch between vertical polarization and horizontal polarization when the dual-polarization has been converted to the single-polarization.

BROADBAND MICROWAVE AND MILLIMETER-WAVE BALANCED-TO-UNBALANCED TRANSFORMER

Techniques are provided for a broadband microwave/millimeter-wave balanced-to-unbalanced transformer (balun). A balun implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes a first impedance matching network configured to reduce insertion and return losses of a single-ended signal at a first port of the balun. The balun also includes a first planar bifilar coupled transmission line coupled to the first impedance matching network and configured to transform the single-ended signal into a differential signal. The balun further includes a second planar bifilar coupled transmission line coupled to the first bifilar coupled transmission line and configured to compensate for amplitude and phase imbalance induced on the differential signal by the first bifilar coupled transmission line. The balun further includes a second impedance matching network coupled to both planar bifilar coupled transmission lines and configured to reduce insertion and return losses of the differential signal at second and third ports of the balun.

A switchable combiner and/or splitter circuit comprising at least two Wilkinson elements is suggested. The switchable circuit comprises one first terminal and for each Wilkinson element one pair of second terminals associated with the corresponding Wilkinson element. Each Wilkinson element connects the first terminal with the associated pair of second terminals. Each Wilkinson element includes a switchable component enabling selectively activating the associated pair of second terminals. The proposed solution combines a Single-Pole-Double-Through switch and a Wilkinson element and, thus, reduces the chip area required for integrating the circuit.
