This application describes multi-band antenna systems and base stations. An example multi-band antenna system includes: a plurality of radiating element arrays, feeding networks separately corresponding to the plurality of radiating element arrays, at least one layer of a frequency selective surface (FSS), and a reflection panel. The plurality of radiating element arrays are located above the reflection panel. All or some of the plurality of radiating element arrays are stacked. The at least one layer of the FSS is located between the stacked radiating element arrays. A feeding network corresponding to at least one radiating element array in the stacked radiating element arrays is electrically connected to the at least one layer of the FSS, or the feeding network corresponding to the at least one radiating element array is integrated on the at least one layer of the FSS.

According to an embodiment, an electronic device includes a housing including a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and an antenna including a printed circuit board (PCB) positioned between the first surface and the second surface. The PCB includes a feed pattern including a first connector region, and a ground pattern including a first ground region in contact with a first portion of the first surface, a first coupling region connected to the first ground region, a second ground region connected to the first coupling region and including a second connector region, and a second coupling region connected to the second ground region and in contact with a second portion different from the first portion of the first surface.

ANTENNA AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

According to an embodiment, an electronic device includes a housing including a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and an antenna including a printed circuit board (PCB) positioned between the first surface and the second surface. The PCB includes a feed pattern including a first connector region, and a ground pattern including a first ground region in contact with a first portion of the first surface, a first coupling region connected to the first ground region, a second ground region connected to the first coupling region and including a second connector region, and a second coupling region connected to the second ground region and in contact with a second portion different from the first portion of the first surface.

ANTENNA DEVICE

An antenna device according to embodiment includes: a first dielectric layer; a second dielectric layer disposed on the first dielectric layer; a third dielectric layer disposed on the second dielectric layer; a first antenna including a first feed via passing through the first dielectric layer and a first antenna patch disposed in a first surface of the first dielectric layer; and a second antenna including a second feed via passing through the first dielectric layer and a second antenna patch disposed in the first surface of the first dielectric layer, wherein a dielectric constant of the second dielectric layer is lower than a dielectric constant of the first dielectric layer and a dielectric constant of the third dielectric layer, and the second dielectric layer has a cavity overlapping the second antenna patch.

ANTENNA DEVICE

An antenna device according to embodiment includes: a first dielectric layer; a second dielectric layer disposed on the first dielectric layer; a third dielectric layer disposed on the second dielectric layer; a first antenna including a first feed via passing through the first dielectric layer and a first antenna patch disposed in a first surface of the first dielectric layer; and a second antenna including a second feed via passing through the first dielectric layer and a second antenna patch disposed in the first surface of the first dielectric layer, wherein a dielectric constant of the second dielectric layer is lower than a dielectric constant of the first dielectric layer and a dielectric constant of the third dielectric layer, and the second dielectric layer has a cavity overlapping the second antenna patch.

Lens structure

A communication terminal may include an array of antenna modules. Each module may include an array of radiators on a substrate and a radio-frequency lens overlapping the array. The lens may include a tapered base on the substrate and a curved portion on the tapered base. The tapered base and curved portions may be rotationally symmetric about a central axis of the lens. The curved portion may be hemispherical. The tapered base portion may be conical and may have a first radius at the hemispherical portion and a second radius that is less than the first radius at the substrate. At least one radiator in the array may be located beyond the first radius and within the second radius from the central axis. The lens may be formed from lattice having interleaved layers of dielectric segments separated by gaps to reduce the overall weight of the module.

Lens structure

A communication terminal may include an array of antenna modules. Each module may include an array of radiators on a substrate and a radio-frequency lens overlapping the array. The lens may include a tapered base on the substrate and a curved portion on the tapered base. The tapered base and curved portions may be rotationally symmetric about a central axis of the lens. The curved portion may be hemispherical. The tapered base portion may be conical and may have a first radius at the hemispherical portion and a second radius that is less than the first radius at the substrate. At least one radiator in the array may be located beyond the first radius and within the second radius from the central axis. The lens may be formed from lattice having interleaved layers of dielectric segments separated by gaps to reduce the overall weight of the module.

Radio frequency device and display device having the same

A display device includes a display panel, a conductive layer disposed on the display panel and including a plurality of first patterns and a plurality of second patterns having a shape different from the first patterns, and an antenna element spaced from the conductive layer and operating in each of a first frequency band and a second frequency band. A first signal within the first frequency band constructively interferes with a first reflected signal corresponding to the first signal reflected at least partially by the first patterns, and a second signal within the second frequency band constructively interferes with a second reflected signal corresponding to the second signal reflected at least partially by the second patterns.

Radio frequency device and display device having the same

A display device includes a display panel, a conductive layer disposed on the display panel and including a plurality of first patterns and a plurality of second patterns having a shape different from the first patterns, and an antenna element spaced from the conductive layer and operating in each of a first frequency band and a second frequency band. A first signal within the first frequency band constructively interferes with a first reflected signal corresponding to the first signal reflected at least partially by the first patterns, and a second signal within the second frequency band constructively interferes with a second reflected signal corresponding to the second signal reflected at least partially by the second patterns.
