An electronic device may be provided with an antenna module having a substrate. A phased antenna array of dielectric resonator antennas and a radio-frequency integrated circuit for the array may be mounted to one or more surfaces of the substrate. The dielectric resonator antennas may include dielectric columns excited by feed probes. The feed probes may be printed onto sidewalls of the dielectric columns or may be pressed against the sidewalls by biasing structures. A plastic substrate may be molded over each dielectric column and each of the feed probes in the array. The feed probes may cover multiple polarizations. The array may include elements for covering multiple frequency bands. The dielectric columns may be aligned a longitudinal axis and may be rotated at a non-zero and non-perpendicular angle with respect to the longitudinal axis.
MULTI-BAND ANTENNA SYSTEM AND BASE STATION
This application describes multi-band antenna systems and base stations. An example multi-band antenna system includes: a plurality of radiating element arrays, feeding networks separately corresponding to the plurality of radiating element arrays, at least one layer of a frequency selective surface (FSS), and a reflection panel. The plurality of radiating element arrays are located above the reflection panel. All or some of the plurality of radiating element arrays are stacked. The at least one layer of the FSS is located between the stacked radiating element arrays. A feeding network corresponding to at least one radiating element array in the stacked radiating element arrays is electrically connected to the at least one layer of the FSS, or the feeding network corresponding to the at least one radiating element array is integrated on the at least one layer of the FSS.
MULTI-BAND ANTENNA
A multi-band antenna includes a first column of radiating elements that are configured to operate in a first operating frequency band mounted on a reflecting plate; a second column of radiating elements that are configured to operate in a second operating frequency band mounted on the reflecting plate; a first fence and a second fence located on both sides of the reflecting plate that extend forward from the reflecting plate, where the first and second columns of radiating elements are arranged in between the first and second fences, the first fence and the second fence respectively comprise a frequency selective surface with a passband and a stopband, the passband covers at least the first operating frequency band, and the stopband covers at least the second operating frequency band.
Lens structure
A communication terminal may include an array of antenna modules. Each module may include an array of radiators on a substrate and a radio-frequency lens overlapping the array. The lens may include a tapered base on the substrate and a curved portion on the tapered base. The tapered base and curved portions may be rotationally symmetric about a central axis of the lens. The curved portion may be hemispherical. The tapered base portion may be conical and may have a first radius at the hemispherical portion and a second radius that is less than the first radius at the substrate. At least one radiator in the array may be located beyond the first radius and within the second radius from the central axis. The lens may be formed from lattice having interleaved layers of dielectric segments separated by gaps to reduce the overall weight of the module.
Antenna aperture in phased array antenna systems
In some embodiments, a phased array antenna includes a carrier; a first plurality of antenna elements carried by the carrier and configured to transmit and/or receive signals at a first value of a parameter, and a second plurality of antenna elements carried by the carrier and configured to transmit and/or receive signals at a second value of the parameter different from the first value of the parameter. The antenna elements of the first plurality of antenna elements and the second plurality of antenna elements are located within a common aperture of the phased array antenna.
Radiating element, antenna assembly and base station antenna
Radiating elements, antenna assemblies, and base station antennas including the same. For example, a radiating element is provided that includes a feed stalk and a radiator mounted on the feed stalk. The feed stalk includes a dielectric substrate, a first metal pattern printed on a first major surface of the dielectric substrate, and a second metal pattern printed on a second major surface of the dielectric substrate that is opposite the first major surface. The first metal pattern includes a first feed transmission line and a first feed welding region electrically connected to the first feed transmission line. The second metal pattern includes a second feed welding region electrically connected to the first feed welding region.

Base station antenna
A base station antenna includes a column of radiating elements comprising first and second sets of radiating elements, each radiating element being configured to operate in a first frequency band that has first and second sub-bands. The second set of radiating elements is located above and/or below the first set of radiating elements. The antenna further includes a feeding assembly that is configured to feed first RF signals that are in the first sub-band and second RF signals that are in the second sub-band to the column of radiating elements, where the feeding assembly is configured to partially attenuate sub-components of the second RF signals that are fed to the second set of radiating elements more than sub-components of the first RF signals that are fed to the second set of radiating elements.

Antenna oscillator unit
An antenna oscillator unit includes a radiator and a balun support. The radiator is fixed to the balun support and includes a plurality of low-frequency oscillator arms circumferentially distributed along the balun support. Each of the low-frequency oscillator arms includes two radiating sections connected to each other and a connecting section connecting the two radiating sections to form a closed loop. The two radiating sections are substantially perpendicular to each other.
