A sealing device and method for sealing an electrical terminal. The sealing device includes a heat shrinkable tubing having an inner wall. A first sealant/adhesive is configured to cooperate with the heat shrinkable tubing. The first sealant/adhesive has a first sealant/adhesive first surface and an oppositely facing first sealant/adhesive second surface. The second surface of the first sealant/adhesive is bonded to the inner wall of the heat shrinkable tubing. A second sealant/adhesive is configured to cooperate with free ends of electrical conductors which are in electrical engagement with the electrical terminal. The second sealant/adhesive has a second sealant/adhesive first surface and an oppositely facing second sealant/adhesive second surface. The second sealant/adhesive first surface is provided in engagement with the electrical conductors. The second sealant/adhesive second surface is provided in engagement and bonded with the first sealant/adhesive first surface.

When the cables are connected to the first and second connection part, respectively, the core wires are arranged at an interval.

There is provided an electric cable connection terminal. A first connection part is configured to connect the one electric cable thereto. A second connection part is configured to connect the other electric cable thereto. A waterproof member is configured to be melted to seal leading end portions of core wires of the electrics cable when being heated and configured to be solidified to waterproof the leading end portions when being cooled. An accommodation part accommodating the waterproof member therein is provided between the first and second connection parts. A cable termination apparatus for an underwater cable with a conductive core, an axially extending annular insulation portion radially outwardly of the core and an axially extending annular conductive screen layer radially outwardly of the insulation portion. The apparatus having a stress control sleeve, located radially outwardly of the insulation portion and extending partially over the annular conductive screen layer. The stress control sleeve includes an insulating portion and a conductive portion. When the cable termination apparatus is assembled the conductive portion of the stress control sleeve is in contact with an end portion of the screen layer.

Underwater connecting apparatus and assemblies
