11476599 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A cable system component includes a nut having a seal-grasping surface portion and a seal having an elastically deformable tubular body attached to the nut. The body has a posterior sealing surface that cooperatively engages the seal-grasping surface portion of the nut and a forward sealing surface configured to cooperatively engage an interface port. The seal includes a nonconductive elastomer overlying a conductive elastomer in a radial dimension of the seal. The conductive elastomer is configured to make an electrical ground connection with the interface port before a center conductor of the coaxial cable makes an electrical connection with an internal contact of the interface port when the nut is coupled with the interface port.

Coaxial and cluster connector assemblies

The present disclosure relates to a coaxial connector assembly comprising a first connector and a second connector adapted to be connected with each other, and a locking mechanism adapted to lock and unlock a connection between the first connector and the second connector. The locking mechanism includes a first locking member having at least one elastic snap-fit element and a second locking member having a locking element adapted to be snap-fitly engaged with the at least one elastic snap-fit element. The first locking member is disposed on an outer periphery of the first connector, and the second locking member is disposed on an outer periphery of the second connector. The elastic snap-fit element is constructed as a cantilever that extends axially toward a direction remote from the second connector, so that it is movable between an unlocking position and a locking position along a radial direction. In the unlocking position, the elastic snap-fit element is pressed down, so that the elastic snap-fit element is disengaged from the locking element, and in the locking position, the elastic snap-fit element springs back to its initial state, so that the elastic snap-fit element is snap-fitly engaged with the lock element.

Ferrule for a coaxial cable terminal having overlapping crimp wings

A coaxial cable assembly includes a coaxial cable having a shield conductor surrounding a central conductor, a shield terminal in contact with an inner surface of the shield conductor, and a ferrule configured to secure the shield terminal to the coaxial cable. The ferrule defines first and second crimping wings. The first and second crimping wings each having an arcuate shape and are compressively connected to an outer surface of the shield conductor. A distal end of the first crimping wing overlies a distal end of the second crimping wing. A method for forming the coaxial cable assembly and a crimping tool for attaching the ferrule to the coaxial cable is also provided.
