Wire-to-wire connector with shunt
10840614 · 2020-11-17 · ·

This disclosure provides a method and apparatus for connecting and disconnecting a first wire to a second wire. More specifically, an apparatus that includes a first electrical contact, a second electrical contact, an insulated housing, and a male contact prong (i.e., a shunt) is disclosed. In an embodiment, the first and second electrical contacts conductively connect with a first and second wire, respectively, via an insulation displacement connector. Furthermore, the male contact prong conductively connects (i.e., shunts) the first and second electrical contacts together. A wire-to-wire contact with shunt allows for two wires to be quickly and efficiently connected and disconnected.

MULTI-USE CONNECTOR FOR TRACER WIRE

Trace wire connectors that include a cover that can be attached to a base and used to electrically interconnect two or more tracer wires without having to remove insulation from the tracer wires. The cover has multiple portals that permit one or more tracer wires to pass into an inner cavity of the cover. The base has multiple cradles on which tracer wires passing into the cavity can rest. The cover can be oriented relative to the base for use with a through tracer wire and a dead-end tracer wire, or for use with multiple dead-end tracer wires.

A plurality of module housings extending in a lateral direction and arranged in a longitudinal direction orthogonal to the lateral direction, and terminals attached to the module housings are included. The terminals each include a pair of contact parts respectively projecting upward above an upper surface and downward below a lower surface of each of the module housings, and a first direction conversion mechanism configured to convert at least some of displacement and a force received by the pair of contact parts in an upper-lower direction orthogonal to the lateral direction and the longitudinal direction into displacement and a force in the longitudinal direction. The module housings each include a second direction conversion mechanism configured to convert at least some of displacement and a force received from each of the terminals in the longitudinal direction into displacement and a force in the upper-lower direction.

Low-force push-in electrical terminal

An electrical terminal includes a terminal base. A mate portion is attached to the terminal base and is adapted to mate with a corresponding electrical terminal. A conductor contact portion includes a box attached to the terminal base. The box defines an interior space. A lever extends from a wall of the box. The lever includes a curved portion that extends toward the terminal base. The lever is adapted to engage a conductor of a wire inserted into the box. The lever includes lift tabs that extend from the lever to outside the box.

Wire to wire connector

A wire to wire connector comprises an insulation housing having a receiving passage extending in an insertion direction of a first wire or a second wire, an integral conductive terminal disposed in the receiving passage and adapted to electrically connect the first wire and the second wire, and a pair of seal members. The receiving passage has a first insertion port and a second insertion port, the first wire is inserted into the receiving passage through the first insertion port and the second wire is inserted into the receiving passage through the second insertion port. The pair of seal members are respectively mounted in the first insertion port and the second insertion port and each have a passageway through which the first wire or the second wire extends. The seal members seal with the first wire and the second wire to prevent moisture from entering the receiving passage.

Communication connectors and components thereof

Various implementations of communications connectors are disclosed. In some implementations, a communications connector, such as a communications plug, may include a plug body and a termination sled positioned at least partially in the plug body. The termination sled may include a printed circuit board (PCB) having a front section, a rear section, and a connecting section connecting the front section and the rear section. In some implementations, a communications cord may include a communications plug having a conductive shell and PCB assembly. The PCB assembly may include a PCB, front and rear load bars, and a shielded divider.

Electrical connector having an electrical device mounted to a flexible carrier

An electrical connector includes at least two electrical connector elements extending side by side along a longitudinal direction, each of the electrical connector elements being connectable to a respective wire of an associated electrical cable. An electrical device is in electrical contact with the respective electrical connector elements. A flexible carrier bears inwardly against the electrical connector elements. The electrical device is mounted on an inner side of the flexible carrier which faces the connector elements.

Branch connector

A branch connector is capable of preventing cable breakage when subjected to vibration or shock. The branch connector (1) includes a pair of split housings capable of opening and closing with respect to each other, a relay contact (40) supported by the split housings and connecting electrically to a cable guided by the split housings in a closed state, and a cable holder, formed in the split housings to hold the cable, including a tight cable holder on the side closer to the relay contact (40) to hold the cable so that movement of the cable in a radial direction is relatively smaller when the split housings are in the closed state and a loose cable holder on the side farther from the relay contact (40) to hold the cable so that movement of the cable in a radial direction is relatively larger when the split housings are in the closed state.
