Wire-to-wire connector with insulation displacement connection contact for integral strain relief
An apparatus includes a first electrical contact comprising a first aperture and a first insulation displacement opening. Centers of the first aperture and the first insulation displacement opening are aligned. The apparatus also includes an insulated housing comprising a first wire opening, a second wire opening, and a first electrical contact inlet extending through the first and second wire openings. The first electrical contact is at least partially inserted into the first electrical contact inlet such that at least a portion of the first aperture is aligned with the first wire opening.
Electrical connector with a sleeve having an electrical device
An electrical connector includes at least two electrical connector elements extending side by side along a longitudinal direction, each of the electrical connector elements being connectable to a respective wire of an associated electrical cable. An electrical device is in electrical contact with the respective electrical connector elements. A flexible carrier surrounds the electrical connector elements annularly in cross section, and the electrical device is mounted on an inner side of the flexible carrier which faces the connector elements.
Multi-dimensional cable shorting tool
A device for rendering safe a detonator firing circuit by short circuiting multiple conductors in the circuit includes a base portion and cable piercing members. The base portion has a cylindrical block and apertures for retentively receiving the cable piercing members. The cable piercing member has a first end to impinge on and penetrate a cable insulation when forcibly attached to an external surface of the cable. The cable piercing member has a low electrical resistance and impedance to generate a short circuit between conductors of the cable. Also, a method for rendering safe a detonator firing circuit of by short circuiting multiple conductor cables or a pigtail connector of a detonator system.
Wire-to-wire connector with shunt
This disclosure provides a method and apparatus for connecting and disconnecting a first wire to a second wire. More specifically, an apparatus that includes a first electrical contact, a second electrical contact, an insulated housing, and a male contact prong (i.e., a shunt) is disclosed. In an embodiment, the first and second electrical contacts conductively connect with a first and second wire, respectively, via an insulation displacement connector. Furthermore, the male contact prong conductively connects (i.e., shunts) the first and second electrical contacts together. A wire-to-wire contact with shunt allows for two wires to be quickly and efficiently connected and disconnected.
Insulation displacement contact device with a biasing element
An insulation displacement contact device comprises a blade assembly and a biasing element. The blade assembly has a plurality of blades disposed opposite one another each with a cutting edge. The cutting edges of the blades terminate into a contact slot disposed between the blades. The blade assembly is disposed in the biasing element. The biasing element is movable with respect to the blade assembly along a moving direction parallel to the contact slot.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
An electrical connector includes at least two electrical connector elements extending side by side along a longitudinal direction, each of the electrical connector elements being connectable to a respective wire of an associated electrical cable. An electrical device is in electrical contact with the respective electrical connector elements. A flexible carrier surrounds the electrical connector elements annularly in cross section, and the electrical device is mounted on an inner side of the flexible carrier which faces the connector elements.
Electrical connector for unterminated cables
An electrical connector is provided. The electrical connector includes two or more electrically conductive prongs. Each electrically conductive prong may have a tapered distal end operable to axially contact a conductor of a cable when a force is applied to axially push the cable onto the two or more electrically conductive prongs. Each electrically conductive prong may have a proximal end operable to be electrically coupled to a respective connector conductor.
