20220285881 · 2022-09-08 ·

An electrical connector system includes a plug connector and a secondary locking device. The plug connector mates with a corresponding counter connector and includes a plug connector housing having a terminal cavity for receiving an electrical contact terminal. The secondary locking device provides a secondary locking function when the plug connector mates with the corresponding counter connector and when the secondary locking device is in a closed position. The secondary locking device is movable relative to the plug connector housing from an open position to the closed position. The secondary locking device has a stem portion and a flexible leg. The stem portion extends in the closing direction. The flexible leg has a fixed end and a free end. The flexible leg connects to the stem portion at its fixed end. The flexible leg extends from the fixed end to the free end opposite the closing direction.

Separable articulating power and data interface

Connector inserts and connector receptacles that have a small form factor and where when a connector insert and connector receptacle are mated, the connector insert can rotate and articulate relative to an electronic device housing the connector receptacle. The connector receptacle can be connected to components in the electronic device through a flexible circuit board having an amount of slack or excess length to allow the connector receptacle and the connector insert to rotate relative to the connected components. A bearing supporting the connector receptacle can articulate about an axis to allow the connector receptacle and connector insert to articulate relative to the connected components. The bearing can further support a locking mechanism to lock the connector insert in place in the connector receptacle.

Dual card pluggable module

A pluggable module is provided and includes a pluggable body including a cavity. The pluggable body extends between a mating end and a cable end opposite the mating end. The mating end is configured to be plugged into a receptacle connector assembly. The pluggable body has a top wall, a bottom wall, a first side wall at a first side, and a second side wall at a second side. The pluggable module includes a cable assembly coupled to the pluggable body. The cable assembly includes an upper module circuit card, a lower module circuit card, upper cables terminated to the upper module circuit card and lower cables terminated to the lower module circuit card. The upper module circuit card includes upper contact pads proximate to an upper mating edge. The lower module circuit card includes lower contact pads proximate to a lower mating edge.

Universal bracket for multiple form factors of PCIe cards in OCP sled environments

A universal bracket includes a first wall, a second wall, and a third wall. The first wall is configured to be fixed to a first circuit card and a second circuit card. The first circuit card and the second circuit card include any of at least two different standardized types of circuit cards. The second wall is opposite the first wall. The third wall extends between the first wall and the second wall and is configured to be fixed to a riser card having a first connector for receiving a first mating connector of the first circuit card and a second connector for receiving a second mating connector of the second circuit card.

Connector and Connector Assembly

The present invention discloses a connector and a connector assembly. The connector has a housing and a latch safety. The latch safety is slidably mounted on the housing and adapted to move between a safety position to prevent the mating connector from being unlocked and a pre-locking position to allow the mating connector to be unlocked. A guide slot is formed on an outer wall of the connector and surrounded by a first end wall and a second end wall spaced from each other in a circumferential direction of the housing and two side walls spaced from each other in an axial direction of the housing. The latch safety has a sliding plate slidably installed in the guide slot, and the sliding plate has a first end and a second end spaced from each other in the circumferential direction and a front and rear sides spaced from each other in the axial direction. When the latch safety is moved to the safety position along the guide slot, the end face of the first end of the sliding plate abuts against the first end wall of the guide slot, so that a human finger cannot contact the end face of the first end of the sliding plate. Therefore, the risk of accidental reset of the latch safety due to misoperation can be avoided, and the use safety is improved.

A wetmate connector includes a plug and receptacle. The plug includes a plug body and the receptacle includes a receptacle body. The plug includes a recess circumscribing its forward end, adjacent to a coarse alignment feature and rearward of a front surface of the plug body. The coarse alignment feature includes a series of three truncated cones, the first and third of the cones including substantially congruent faces, the first and second cones being joined at their maximum diameter and the second and third cones being joined at their minimum diameter. The receptacle body includes a fastener adapted to cooperate with the recess in the forward end of the plug, to latch the plug and receptacle together when mated.

Releasable power assembly
11450995 · 2022-09-20 ·

A releasable power assembly prevents damage to plugs and receptacles connected to refrigerated shipping containers (reefers). Reefers are temporarily stored in shipping port reefer scaffolds and then loaded onto or unloaded off of ground transportation or freighters. However, errors in port command and control systems may result in the failure to unplug reefers prior to loading or unloading. Conventional reefer power plugs and receptacles are twist-locked together and damaged or destroyed if not manually disconnected prior to reefer movement. An advantageous releasable power assembly automatically unlatches before reaching a breaking point for failure to disconnect plug and receptacle.
