A carbon grounding brush has a sliding surface that slides on and grounds a driving shaft transmitting driving force and exposed to an insulating liquid. A slit is provided on the sliding surface, and at least one end of the slit is located on one side of the sliding surface. The slit introduces into the slit the insulating liquid pressed towards the sliding surface by the rotation of the driving shaft and discharges the insulating liquid from the one end of the slit. Thus, the contact resistance between the driving shaft and the sliding surface is made small, and electrical corrosion and electromagnetic noises are reduced.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING THE STATUS OF ONE OR MORE COMPONENTS OF AN ELECTRICAL MACHINE

Example brush holder assemblies of an electric machine are disclosed. An example brush holder assembly of an electric machine includes a carbon brush including an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. The brush holder assembly also includes one or more lead wires extending out of the carbon brush at an insertion point on the upper surface and a first cavity extending into the carbon brush from the upper surface at a location spaced away from the insertion point of the one or more lead wires and unobstructed by the one or more lead wires.

Driving device and window lift actuator using the same

A driving device includes a motor and a control unit for controlling of the motor. The motor includes a motor body and an end cap assembly disposed at one end of the motor body. The motor body comprises a stator, a rotor rotatable relative to the stator, and a motor shaft fixed to and rotated with the rotor. The end cap assembly is provided with two brushes. The control unit includes two connectors for connecting with an external power source. The two brushes are respectively electrically connected to the connectors through the control unit. Lengths of connecting routes of the two brushes to the corresponding connectors are substantially equal to each other.

A shunt extends from a brush received by a brush box of a brush holder. The first end of the shunt can be connected to the brush, and the second end of the shunt can connect to the brush holder. A lever connects to a back plate of the brush holder, and the lever may reversibly and selectively rotate between a first position and a second position; the lever can have a distal portion, and the second position of the lever secures a portion of the shunt between the distal portion of the lever and another component of the brush holder. The secured portion of the shunt can restrict downward movement of the brush in the brush box, while a spring pushes downward on the brush in the brush in the brush box, to thereby fixedly position the brush in the brush box.

A DC motor is provided for use in a starter that starts an ermine. The DC motor includes a commutator and a brush. The commutator is formed of copper or a copper alloy whose copper percentage content is higher than or equal to 99 mass %. The brush is arranged in sliding contact with a surface of the commutator. Moreover, the brush is formed of a sintered compact that contains graphite, copper and at least one metal sulfide solid lubricant. The percentage content of copper in the sintered compact is 30-70 mass %. The at least one metal sulfide solid lubricant includes tungsten disulfide. The percentage content of tungsten disulfide in the sintered compact is higher than or equal to 6.5 mass %.

Drive with a commutator motor
