RESISTANCE WELDING METHODS AND APPARATUS
Disclosed is a method of resistance welding between composite articles. A conductive element is provided between faying surfaces, having a plurality of lower resistivity electrode portions spaced apart along the length of the contact area between the composite articles. The electrode portions can be used to spot weld across the electrode portions, and along a longitudinal portion of the conductive element between the electrode portions by application of an electrical current. Also disclosed are apparatus for use in the resistance welding methods and composite articles and structures and elements incorporating the conductive element.
Wire assembly with welded contact
A wire assembly includes a cable and a contact. The wire includes at least an inner conductor and an insulating jacket surrounding the inner conductor, wherein a tip of the inner conductor is exposed at a first end. The contact is welded to the tip of the inner conductor at the first end.
RESISTANCE WELDING FASTENER, APPARATUS AND METHODS
An apparatus and method for fastening dissimilar materials like steel, plastic and aluminum. A resistance welding fastener having multiple layers may be used with or without a sealant. The fastener may be used to form an aluminum covered steel laminate via a hemming pattern of attachment. The fastener may have a solid shaft or have an extended reach and have features for interacting with the welding electrode. A variety of electrode tips may be employed to cooperate with the fastener.
METHOD OF CONNECTING A WIRE TO A FEEDTHROUGH
One aspect relates to a feedthrough system. The feedthrough system includes a feedthrough and a wire. At least a portion of the feedthrough is made of an insulator and at least one area forming an electrically conductive cermet pathway. The cermet pathway may include an electrically conductive metal. The wire may be at least partially connected to the cermet pathway so that the material of the wire forms a joint microstructure with the electrically conductive material in the cermet pathway.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION ELEMENT FOR FASTENING, IN PARTICULAR SOLDERING, TO A GLASS PANE, AND RIBBON LITZ WIRE MIXED BRAID
The invention relates to an electrical connection element for fastening, in particular soldering, to a glass pane and conductive sections present there, in particular to a vehicle pane, consisting of a solder connection part and a ribbon litz wire section fixed to the solder connection part by welding. According to the invention, the ribbon litz wire section consists of a mixed braid which, in addition to single wires made of copper or a copper alloy, contains single wires made of a material which has a melting temperature that corresponds substantially to the melting temperature of the solder connection part or has a higher melting temperature than the latter.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING AN ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE CONNECTION BETWEEN TWO SUBSTRATES
A first and second substrate, and electrically conductive first and second connection parts are provided in a method for establishing an electrically conductive connection between two substrates. The first connection part is mounted on the first substrate by a first releasable connection and the second connection part is respectively mounted on the second substrate by a releasable connection. An electrically conductive connection assembly containing the first connection part and the second connection part is established by either a cohesive connection between a connection portion of the first connection part and a connection portion of the second connection part or an electrically conductive crossmember provided and a cohesive connection of a first length portion of the crossmember to the connection portion of the first connection part and a second cohesive connection of a second length portion of the crossmember to the connection portion of the second connection part being established.

VEHICLE WINDOW GLASS WITH ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR SOLDERED BY LEAD-FREE SOLDER
A vehicle window glass comprises a glass substrate layer, an electrically conductive layer forming a conductive pattern over the glass substrate, a lead-free solder layer on the conductive layer and a metal plate element of an electrical connector on the solder layer. Optionally a coloured ceramic band layer is sintered between the glass substrate layer and the conductive layer. The thickness of the metal plate element is between 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm.
