CATHETER HUB ADAPTED TO BE USED WITH MULTIUSE BLOOD CONTROL VALVE
20220233816 · 2022-07-28 · ·

A catheter hub of a safety needle assembly that includes a multiuse valve uses a proximal portion of the catheter as an actuator to open the partition membrane of the valve when the valve is subjected to an external biasing force. In another embodiment, the actuator is formed as an integral component of the catheter hub.

INTRAVENOUS CATHETER APPARATUS WITH SAFETY FUNCTION AND PRESSURE CONTROLLED VALVE ELEMENT
20210402154 · 2021-12-30 · ·

The invention relates to an intravenous catheter apparatus comprising: a catheter hub arranged at a proximal end of a catheter tube, the catheter hub having an inner surface defining a chamber; a needle defining an axial direction and having a needle tip, the needle extending through the chamber and the catheter tube when in a ready position; a needle guard slidably arranged on the needle and at least partially received in the chamber when the needle is in the ready position, the needle guard including a base portion and first and second arms extending from the base portion, wherein the first arm is deflected radially outwards by the needle against a restoring force when the needle is in the ready position whereby the needle guard is brought into retaining contact with the catheter hub; and wherein the catheter apparatus includes a valve which separates a distal space arranged in distal direction from the valve from a proximal space arranged on proximal direction from the valve. The invention further provides that the valve opens based on a pressure differential between the pressure prevailing in the distal space and the pressure prevailing in the proximal space.

INSERTING MEMBER FIXING DEVICE

This device is an inserting member fixing device to fix a linear inserting member to an insertion target, the inserting member fixing device comprising: a main body; a chuck portion; an inner sealing portion to be brought into close contact with an outer periphery of the inserting member; an inserting member supporting portion to support the inserting member; and a movement restricting portion to restrict movement of the inner sealing portion and the inserting member supporting portion. The inserting member supporting portion and the inner sealing portion are provided adjacent to each other in an axial direction of the inserting member, and a space is provided between the inserting member supporting portion and the inner sealing portion so that a main body-side end portion of the inserting member supporting portion is displaceable when the inserting member swings.

CATHETER ASSEMBLY
20210393920 · 2021-12-23 · ·

A catheter assembly includes: a catheter; a catheter hub provided at a proximal end of the catheter; a valve body fixed in the catheter hub; and an opening member housed in the catheter hub to open the valve body. The opening member is movable between a first position proximal of the valve body and a second position for opening the valve body by being advanced by a connector inserted into the catheter hub. The opening member includes an engaging portion that engages with the connector with movement to the second position caused by the connector, and maintains the engagement with the connector and retracts the opening member from the valve body to the first position when the connector is retracted in a proximal direction and detached from the catheter hub.

CATHETER SYSTEM FACILITATING BLOOD FLASHBACK VISUALIZATION

A catheter system may a catheter assembly, which may include a catheter adapter and a catheter. The catheter system may also include a needle assembly, which may include a needle hub and an introducer needle. A proximal end of the introducer needle may be secured within the needle hub, and a distal end of the introducer needle may extend beyond a distal end of the catheter. The catheter system may include a vent plug. A distal end of the vent plug may include a male luer adapter, which may include a cannula and a collar surrounding the cannula. The cannula may include a cavity to receive blood flowing proximally through the introducer needle. A proximal end of the cavity may be formed by a wall extending across the cannula and disposed within the needle hub. The cannula may be inserted into proximal end of the needle hub.

CATHETER ASSEMBLY

A catheter assembly includes: an inner needle configured to puncture a living body; a catheter configured to allow the inner needle to be inserted therethrough; a catheter hub located at a proximal end of the catheter; a valve body located in an internal space of the catheter hub; an opening member located on a proximal side of the valve body, the opening member comprising: a cylindrical barrel portion, a neck portion extending from a distal end of the barrel portion, wherein a diameter of the neck portion is smaller than a diameter of the cylindrical barrel portion, and a foot portion extending to a proximal side of the barrel portion, wherein the opening member is configured to move in a distal direction to open the valve body; and a movement inhibiting mechanism that resists movement of the opening member in the distal direction via a contact portion.

Introducer sheath and methods

A medical device for accessing body tissue or fluid is disclosed. The medical device may include an introducer sheath and a valve that impedes the flow of fluid through the introducer sheath. An assembly for selectively coupling components of a medical device is also disclosed. The assembly may comprise two components configured to engage with one another by at least a snap fit-type connection. This connection may facilitate disengagement of the two components via actuation of a release mechanism.

Introducer with partially annealed reinforcement element and related systems and methods

The present disclosure illustrates an introducer sheath with a partially annealed metal frame. The introducer sheaths described herein include a hub coupled to a shaft. The shaft comprises a braided wire frame with (i) an annealed distal portion that prevents the braided wire frame from unraveling at a distal end, and (ii) a second portion that is unannealed; a jacket encompassing the braided wire frame; and a liner forming an inner wall.
