HIGH-INTENSITY LIGHT SOURCE WITH HIGH CRI
The invention provides a light generating device (1000), wherein: (I) the light generating device (1000) comprises: (a) a first light source (110) configured to generate first light source light (111) having a first light source light spectral power distribution, wherein the first light source (110) comprises a first laser light source (10) configured to generate first laser light source light (11); (b) a first luminescent material (210) configured to convert at least part of the first light source light (111) into first luminescent material light (211) having a first luminescent material spectral power distribution having an emission at one or more wavelengths selected from the wavelength range of 590-780 nm, wherein the first luminescent material (210) is configured in an optical resonator (230); (II) the first light source (110) and the first luminescent material (210) are configured to generate first luminescent material laser light (1211) having a first luminescent material laser light spectral power distribution comprising at least part of the first luminescent material light (211); (III) the first light source light spectral power distribution and the first luminescent material laser light spectral power distribution mutually differ; and (IV) the light generating device (1000) is configured to generate in one or more operational modes white device light (1001) comprising the first luminescent material laser light (1211).
LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS USING SAME
Provided is a light emitting device including a light source that emits primary light; and a wavelength converter that includes a first phosphor that absorbs the primary light and emits first wavelength-converted light, wherein the light emitting device emits output light including the first wavelength-converted light, the first wavelength-converted light is near-infrared light having a fluorescence intensity maximum value within a wavelength range of 700 nm or more and less than 800 nm, the first wavelength-converted light mainly contains a broad fluorescent component based on an electron energy transition of .sup.4T.sub.2.fwdarw..sup.4A.sub.2 of Cr.sup.3+, and the broad fluorescent component has a fluorescence spectrum half-width that is less than 100 nm.
FLUORESCENT MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Provided is a fluorescent material with high brightness. The fluorescent material includes a nitride fluorescent material comprising La, Ce, Si, and N; and a first phosphorus compound disposed on a surface of the nitride fluorescent material. The first phosphorus compound includes at least one selected from the group consisting of lanthanum phosphate, lanthanum hydrogen phosphate, and hydrates thereof. A content of phosphorus atoms in the fluorescent material is 0.07% by mass or higher and 0.8% by mass or lower.
Manufacturable laser diode formed on c-plane gallium and nitrogen material
A method for manufacturing a laser diode device includes providing a substrate having a surface region and forming epitaxial material overlying the surface region, the epitaxial material comprising an n-type cladding region, an active region comprising at least one active layer overlying the n-type cladding region, and a p-type cladding region overlying the active layer region. The epitaxial material is patterned to form a plurality of dice, each of the dice corresponding to at least one laser device, characterized by a first pitch between a pair of dice, the first pitch being less than a design width. Each of the plurality of dice are transferred to a carrier wafer such that each pair of dice is configured with a second pitch between each pair of dice, the second pitch being larger than the first pitch.
LASER-BASED INTEGRATED LIGHT SOURCE
A laser-based light source includes a material arranged on a package base adjacent to a laser diode chip and an optical element coupled to the material. The optical element is aligned to receive electromagnetic radiation from the laser diode chip. The optical element includes a wavelength conversion material and is configured to receive at least a portion of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the laser diode chip. A reflective material surrounds sides of the optical element.
Inorganic bonded devices and structures
An inorganic coating may be applied to bond optically scattering particles or components. Optically scattering particles bonded via the inorganic coating may form a three dimensional film which can receive a light emission, convert, and emit the light emission with one or more changed properties. The inorganic coating may be deposited using a low-pressure deposition technique such as an atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. Two or more components, such as an LED and a ceramic phosphor layer may be bonded together by depositing an inorganic coating using the ALD technique.
White-light generating device with fluorescent body with inclined side surface
A white light generating device, for generating white light from an excitation light of a laser light having a wavelength of from 280 nm-495 nm, includes a fluorescent body generating a fluorescence having a wavelength longer than a wavelength of the excitation light. The fluorescent body includes an emission-side end surface emitting excitation light and fluorescence, an opposing end surface on an opposite side of the emission-side end surface, and an outer peripheral surface. The emission-side end surface has an area larger than an area of the opposing end surface, and the outer peripheral surface of the fluorescent body includes a part inclined with respect to a central axis of the fluorescent body by from 3.4°-23° over an entire periphery of the fluorescent body. The emission-side end surface has an area of from 0.3 mm.sup.2-1.52 mm.sup.2.
LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE, HEADLIGHT, DISPLAY APPARATUS, AND ILLUMINATION APPARATUS
[Object] To provide a light source device, a headlight, a display apparatus, and an illumination apparatus having excellent heat dissipation. [Solving Means] The light source device includes a substrate, a phosphor, a light emitting element, and a wavelength-selective reflecting member. The phosphor is disposed in contact with the substrate. The light emitting element emits excitation light for exciting the phosphor. The wavelength-selective reflecting member partially reflects the excitation light emitted from the light emitting element to be guided to the phosphor and transmits fluorescence emitted from the phosphor by excitation caused by incidence of the excitation light and the excitation light reflected by the phosphor.
OPTICAL MEMBER AND LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE
An optical member includes: a conversion member including a fluorescent material; a light reflecting ceramic holding the conversion member, the conversion member and the light reflecting ceramic having a continuous surface; a light-transmissive film on the continuous surface; and a wiring on the light-transmissive film.
Eye-safe laser-based lighting
A laser-based light source includes a laser device configured to generate laser light of a predetermined laser wavelength and emit this laser light as a laser beam. A light-conversion device is configured to convert at least part of the laser light into converted light and a laser-output sensor is configured to determine a laser-output signal proportional to the output of laser light emitted by the laser device. Further, a converted-light sensor is configured to determine a converted-light signal proportional to the output of converted light emitted by the light-conversion device. A controller is configured to receive the laser-output signal and the converted-light signal, to determine a safe-to-operate parameter, based on the laser-output signal and the converted-light signal, and to control the operation of the laser-based light source based on a comparison of the safe-to-operate parameter with a at least one predefined threshold.
