The first annular wall has an outer and an inner surface. The cylindrical center plug has an outer and an inner surface, and is positioned within the first annular wall to form an annular chamber. The second annular wall has an outer and an inner surface, and defines a second chamber having an open end. The second chamber is further defined by the inner surface of the cylindrical center plug. An antiseptic material is on at least one of the first annular wall inner surface, second annular wall inner surface, second annular wall outer surface, and cylindrical center plug outer surface.
PRIMING CAP
A priming cap includes a conduit housing and a resilient member. The conduit housing further includes an upper housing, a lower housing coupled to the upper housing, a fluid passageway extending through the upper housing and the lower housing; and a plug positioned within the upper housing. The conduit housing can define a valve activation member configured to open and close a medical connector. The resilient member can include a retaining feature to secure the priming cap to the medical connector.
MEDICAL VESSELS WITH VALVES AND VALVE LOCK-UNLOCK MECHANISMS
The present invention relates, in some embodiments thereof, to devices, systems and methods for establishing a fluid passageway between vessels. In some embodiments, the invention provides a system for the engagement and establishment of fluid passageway between vessels, the system comprises a first vessel comprising a valve; and a second vessel configured to be coupled to the first vessel; wherein the second vessel comprises a valve unlock mechanism configured to unlock/open the valve, and wherein at about the time of or following the engagement between the first and second vessels, the valve unlock mechanism unlocks/opens the valve, allowing a fluid transfer between the vessels.
APPARATUSES FOR CLEANING CATHETER PORTS
Methods and apparatus for cleaning a central venous catheter port are disclosed. An apparatus includes a body, a coupling configured to connect the body to the hub, a cleaning cap coupled to the body, and an actuator disposed within the body for rotating and translating the cap relative to the hub. The cleaning cap includes a cap body defining a cavity and a cleaning member disposed within the cavity, the cleaning member having threads that engage with the threads on the hub.
PREPACKAGED NEEDLELESS INTRAVENOUS TUBING WITH IN-LINE DISINFECTANT PORT CAPS
A prepackaged needleless intravenous line assembly is provided as well as a method of delivering intravenous medication and/or fluid to a patient while maintaining sterility of needleless access ports. The pre-packaged needleless intravenous line assembly is a sterile intravenous line with at least one sterile access port, each access port having a disinfection cap installed thereon, sealed within a pouch with at least one strip of multiple sealed disinfection caps. An intravenous tubing kit, having sterile intravenous tubing with capped sterile access ports as well as sealed replacement disinfection caps, is removed from the package and attached to a patient's intravenous catheter. A disinfection cap is removed from the sterile access port. Medication and/or fluid is administered into the access port. A replacement disinfection cap is installed onto the access port.
DISINFECTING CAP FOR LUER DEVICES
An article comprises a cap and a cover. The cap comprises an opening to an interior cavity, and has an inner surface defining the interior cavity and an outer surface. The cover is disposed within the interior cavity of the cap near the opening. The cover comprises a base having an inner surface facing the cap opening and an opposite outer surface. A sidewall of the cover extends from a perimeter of the base toward the cap opening. The sidewall has an outer surface facing the inner surface of the cap and an opposite inner surface. Micro features are provided on at least the inner surface of the sidewall. The cover is displaceable into the interior cavity of the cap.
Sanitizing caps for medical connectors
Antiseptic caps that can be used to disinfect and/or protect medical connectors are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the antiseptic cap can include a first chamber configured to be removably attached to the medical connector. Delivery systems for use with medical articles are also disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the delivery system comprises various dispensing systems for antiseptic caps and/or antiseptic cap holder assemblies. In some embodiments, the delivery system can be configured to permit the medical articles to be individually removable from the delivery system.
FLOW COMMUNICATION UNIT WITH PRESERVATIVE
An assembly comprises a sealed drug reservoir unit, a subcutaneous flow conducting device in the form of a needle unit or an infusion set, and a flow communication unit. The flow communication unit comprises a proximal hollow needle adapted to penetrate a needle-penetrable septum of the reservoir, a first flow-way inflow communication with the proximal needle and comprising a pressure-controlled valve, a second flow-way in flow communication with the first flow-way, an amount of preservative arranged to react with a substance received by the second flow-way, and distal flow communication means adapted to provide flow communication between the second flow-way and the needle unit. A combined flow way can be established between the reservoir and the needle unit via the first and second flow-ways when the units are connected. The valve is controlled to open when the reservoir is pressurized, the preservative being provided to react with substances introduced to the second flow way via the needle unit.
UNIVERSAL CAP FOR MALE AND FEMALE CONNECTORS
A cap is described for connection to a medical connector, the cap includes a housing having a top wall and sidewall forming a cavity, and an integrally formed protrusion. The protrusion includes an inner thread on an inner surface, the inner thread being sufficient to interlock with a mating feature of a female needleless connector.
