AUTOMATED CABLE RUNNER

A computing apparatus configured to implement travel control for a carriage of an automated cable runner (ACR) along the pathway of the ACR from a desired start point to a desired end point to deploy cabling into the tray from the start point to the end point, the computing apparatus includes a processor; a memory; and a communication interface coupled to each of the processor and the memory. The processor is configured to: receive a cabling deployment job request; and instruct a carriage with a cabling connected thereto via a cable holder to travel along the pathway from the start point to the end point to deploy the cabling in the tray to fulfill the cabling deployment job request.

INTEGRATED TRANSMISSION LINE INSTALLATION SYSTEM

An integrated transmission line installation system includes a transmission line conveying system that operates to install a transmission line within a conduit by advancing the transmission line through the conduit. The conduit includes at least a first segment and a second segment. The segments are evaluated to determine a full route including the routes of the first and second segments, and an installation plan is generated based at least in part on the full route. The transmission line conveying system includes two or more transmission line conveying apparatuses, a first that controls the advancement of the transmission line through the first segment, and a second that controls the advancement of the transmission line through the second segment. The transmission line conveying system controls and synchronizes the operation of the transmission line conveying apparatuses according to the installation plan so that the transmission line can be continuously installed through the full length of the conduit in a single pass.

Fish tape assembly

A fish tape tool includes a housing and a chamber defined in the housing. A drum is configured to be inserted into the chamber of the housing. The drum contains a fish tape. The drum is rotatable relative to the housing to dispense or retract the fish tape from the housing. The drum is one of a plurality of drums that are insertable into and removable from the chamber of the housing. Each drum contains a different type of fish tape.

Pulling grip assembly

A pulling grip assembly and methods, systems, and apparatuses for constructing the pulling grip assembly are disclosed. The pulling grip assembly can include a pulling grip. The pulling grip can include an elongated body portion and a lug portion. The lug portion can include a blind hole for receiving an assembly including a hollow fastening member and a pulling cable retained within the hollow fastening member.

Pulling product lines underground under obstacles including water bodies

Embodiments and methods relate to pulling and installing a product line along an underground arcuate path beneath an obstacle, including pulling the product line for an extended length (i.e. a length that might otherwise be deemed impracticable) along the underground arcuate path beneath the obstacle. Embodiments also relate to a pulling apparatus for installing a product line using a casing along an underground arcuate path beneath an obstacle, having a casing pull head connected to the casing, a product line pull head assembly connected to the product line, and a pull bracket connected to the product line pull head assembly and to the casing pull head sleeve frame.

Described herein is a fish tape reel comprising a housing with two side shells coupled together. The housing defines an internal cavity. An internal portion of the housing defines a plurality of flat gripping portions and a plurality of finger notches. The housing comprises a plurality of tabs in the internal cavity, the tabs interfacing against an inner annular portion that is coupled to the handle when the handle rotates around the housing.

Wireless control in a cable feeder and puller system

A control module for controlling a cable pulling or feeding apparatus at one endpoint of a pulling operation and for wirelessly communicating with a cable feeding or pulling apparatus at an opposite endpoint. The control module includes a switch input to receive a start signal from a switch for initiating operation of the apparatus and an equipment output that connects to the pulling/feeding apparatus. A wireless communication interface communicates ready state or stop state messages to the other apparatus to coordinate a pulling operation. The control module operates in one of two modes: endpoint mode or repeater mode. In repeater mode, the control module may be positioned between the endpoints to extend the wireless communications between the endpoints.

CABLE PULLING RIG SYSTEM

A cable pulling system that has at least a cable pulling jig, a wire guide and management jig, and a mechanical coupling to attach the cable pulling jig to a first vehicle to pull multiple cables. The wire guide and management jig helps manage the multiple cables to prevent the multiple cables from i) tangling ii) getting out of alignment, and iii) any combination of both, while being pulled.
