Electric device comprising a feedthrough of a cable through a housing wall

An electric device includes a housing and a cable. The housing has a pipe bracket disposed on the housing. The pipe bracket includes an interior pathway extending from a free-end of the pipe bracket into the housing. The free-end of the pipe bracket has teeth thereon. The cable has a union nut and a sleeve. The sleeve has a crimped section attached to the cable such that the crimped section is non-displaceable. The sleeve further has a toothed annular surface. In an installed state of the cable to the housing, a feedthrough portion of the cable extends through the interior pathway of the pipe bracket and into the housing. The union nut encompasses the sleeve and is attached to the pipe bracket to thereby press the toothed annular surface of the sleeve against the teeth of the pipe bracket such that the cable is fixed rotationally to the housing.

Seal assembly/adaptor for an interface port

A seal assembly/adaptor for sealing a weather protection boot to an irregular shaped interface port such as a port having externally facing threads. The seal assembly/adaptor includes a seal subassembly comprising a compliant ring having plurality of arcuate segments defining an opening for accepting the interface port. Further, the seal assembly/adaptor includes at least one retainer operative to retain the seal subassembly such that, upon assembly, an axial force imparted by a connector coupling device effects radial deformation of at least one of the flexible segments into the irregular surface of the interface port to effect a seal between the irregular surface and the retainer.

Gel seal and system incorporating gel seal

Disclosed herein is a gel seal including a volume of gel between first and second end plates. The first and second end plates have one or more cable ports with a central longitudinal axis extending through the first end plate, the volume of gel, and the second end plate. The cable port has a first, circular cross-sectional profile in the first and second end plates for receiving a round cable and a second, elongate cross-sectional profile in the first and second end plates for receiving a flat cable.

LITZ WIRE SOLDER TERMINATION

A method for litz wire termination includes placing a ferrule over exposed conductors on an end of litz wire. The exposed conductors include a portion of the litz wire without an external insulation layer, and a portion at the end of the litz wire protrude past the ferrule. The method includes crimping the ferrule to the litz wire and placing the end of the litz wire with the ferrule in molten solder past the end of the ferrule. The method includes maintaining the litz wire in the molten solder until insulation on conductors of the litz wire is removed from the conductors in the molten solder and solder bonds to the conductors that are within in the molten solder. The method includes removing the litz wire from the molten solder and allowing the litz wire to cool until molten solder bonded to the conductors transitions to a solid state.

A wire harness includes electric wires, and an electromagnetic wave suppression member that includes a restricting member and an annular magnetic core, the restricting member being provided to cover a periphery of the electric wires and including an inner wall portion more rigid than the electric wires, and the magnetic core being provided around the inner wall portion. The restricting member includes fixing portions formed to fix the electromagnetic wave suppression member to a fixing target.

Joint structure for high-voltage cable

A joint structure of a high-voltage cable includes a cable core wrapped from interior to exterior sequentially by an inner insulating layer, a shielding layer and an outer insulating layer, a section of the inner and outer insulating layers is stripped at an end of the cable core, and a length of the stripped section of the outer insulating layer is greater than a length of the stripped section of the inner insulating layer. The end of the cable core is connected to an external terminal, a connection between the end and the external terminal and an adjacent section of the inner insulating layer are wrapped by a heat-shrinkable tube, a spacing is provided between an end of the heat-shrinkable tube and the outer insulating layer, the shielding layer within the spacing is wrapped by a copper foil and connected externally to a cable connector via the copper foil.

Insulator for a cable end

The disclosure provides an insulator for an end of a cable, the insulator having a longitudinal body in which a central channel is provided, the insulator including a connector system arranged in the central channel, the system comprising a connection pin for receiving an end segment of the cable, the pin being shaped so as to present an inside surface that is serrated.

Method of preventing moisture intrusion through the cable exit of an enclosure comprising terminals

Systems, devices, and methods including: a cable; a housing having a tapered exit hole connected to an internal volume; a tapered seal having a tapered outer surface and an inner aperture, where the inner aperture of the tapered seal receives the cable; an encapsulant disposed in the internal volume and about one or more wires of the cable; and a compression cap placed over the tapered seal and about a flange of the housing to compress the tapered seal into the tapered exit hole; where compression from the compression cap forces the encapsulant up inside the cable and around the one or more wires of the cable, and where curing of the encapsulant seals the cable from moisture incursion.
