ROTARY VALVES FOR MANAGING FLUID FLOWS IN MEDICAL SYSTEMS
In one aspect, a valve includes a valve body rotatable about a central axis of the valve body, an interior channel adjacent the valve body for permitting a fluid to flow through an axial opening of the interior channel, and a plug within the interior channel that is movable between a first axial position at the axial opening and a second axial position spaced apart from the axial opening. In the first axial position, the plug closes the axial opening to prevent the fluid from flowing through the axial opening in a first direction and to prevent the fluid from flowing through the axial opening in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction. In the second axial position, the plug permits the fluid to flow through the axial opening into the interior channel in the first direction.
SLIDING SYRINGE CAP FOR SEPARATE FILLING AND DELIVERY
A cap for intake and delivery of a fluid from a syringe is described. The cap includes an outer cap assembly comprising a fluid inlet path and a fluid outlet path and an inner cap assembly configured for innertion into a fluid nozzle of the syringe and to provide selective fluid communication between an interior of a syringe and the fluid inlet path or the fluid outlet path. The outer cap assembly is slidable relative to the inner cap assembly between a first filling position, where the interior of the syringe is in fluid communication with the fluid inlet path, and a second delivery position, where the interior of the syringe is in fluid communication with the fluid outlet path. The outer cap may further slide, relative to the inner cap assembly, to a third closed position where the interior of the syringe is fluidly isolated from the fluid inlet path and the fluid outlet path. Syringes including the cap are also described.
Manual flow regulation for blood collection
A specimen collection assembly (100) including a flow control member (106) for adjustably altering a flow path is disclosed. In one configuration, the flow control member (106) defines a regulation channel (166) in fluid communication with a lumen of a cannula (112), wherein the flow control member (106) is configured to adjustably alter an effective flow distance between the lumen of the cannula (112) and an interior of an evacuated collection container. In another configuration, the flow control member (106) is positioned to vary an effective cross-sectional area of at least one of an inlet port (346) and an outlet port (350) adapted to be in fluid communication with the lumen and the evacuated collection container.
LIQUID MEDICINE INJECTION DEVICE
The present invention discloses a liquid medicine injection device that is attached to a patient's body to inject liquid medicine such as insulin at an appropriate time.
A liquid medicine injection device according to the present invention includes: a case; a liquid medicine tank that is disposed in the case and where liquid medicine is received; an electro-osmosis pump that is connected with the liquid medicine tank and moves the liquid medicine; a needle assembly that receives the liquid medicine by being connected to the electro-osmosis pump and injects the received liquid medicine into a human body; and an adhesive member combined to the case and attached to the human body.
Aspirators
A valve assembly (50) comprising a three-way connector (51) operatively interconnecting: an inlet (58), an outlet (56) and a vent (66), the inlet (58) being operatively connectable, in use, to an aspirator tube; the outlet (56) being operatively connectable, in use, to a syringe (82); and the vent (66) comprising a one-way valve (70) permitting, in use, the flow of a fluid out of the three-way connector (51), wherein the inlet (58) comprises a receptacle (60) containing a porous or perforated element (62) which, when dry, permits the flow of gasses into the three-way connector (51), but which when wetted by a liquid, inhibits or prevents the flow of liquid into the three-way connector (51).
Ported catheter adapter having combined port and blood control valve with venting
A ported catheter adapter having a combined blood control valve and port valve, wherein the combined valve comprises one or more vents that permit the passage of air and prevent the passage of fluids. The one or more vents are located on the outer surface of the valve so as to avoid being overlapped with the pathway of the side port. As such, fluid communication between the side port and the vents is prevented. Various venting configurations are provided. The invention further includes a valve actuator that is advanced through a slit in the membrane of the valve to provide a pathway for fluid to bypass the valve.
Medicant dispenser for the prevention infiltration from bacteria
Provided is a medication dispenser configured to discharge a liquid state medication stored therein by a pumping operation in a predetermined amount in a drop state and prevent a noise occurrence during medication discharge, and having a bacteria infiltration prevention function, wherein a flow path member and a second check valve are mounted in a liner, the second check valve is composed of a hemispherical cylinder mounted in an elevation space of the liner, having an open upper part, and of which a diameter decreases toward a lower end and includes a variable part in which the hemispherical cylinder is vertically variable and an opening and closing protrusion configured to perform supply and blocking of a flow path.
Check valve assembly, medical functional device and a blood treatment apparatus
A check valve assembly having an inlet and an outlet for medical fluids, comprising a valve body, wherein the check valve assembly in an initial state allows a flow of a working fluid and/or a sterilization fluid through the check valve assembly in both directions of flow, that is from the inlet to the outlet and vice versa, and wherein the check valve assembly in an operating state allows only one direction of flow of the working fluid, wherein the check valve assembly comprises a pin-pin-reception connection, which is embodied so that the check valve assembly can be transferred from the initial state into the operating state by applying force on the pin-pin-reception connection and/or by an impression of path on the pin-pin-reception connection.
PATIENT INTERFACE VALVE ARRANGMENT
A valve arrangement includes a first member formed from a pliable material, the first member having at least one aperture defined therethrough. The valve arrangement also includes a second member coupled to the first member, the second member formed from another pliable material. The second member is movable from: a first position in which the second member is sealingly engaged about a periphery of the at least one aperture, thus preventing passage of a fluid through the aperture, and a second position in which at least a portion of the second member is spaced from the periphery of the aperture such that the fluid is able to pass through the aperture.
