INFUSION PUMP CASSETTE HAVING INTEGRATED PINCH CLIP OCCLUDER
A cassette usable with an infusion pump includes a monolithic cassette body and a segment of resiliently deformable tubing for conveying a flow of liquid. The monolithic cassette body has an integrally formed free-flow protection device including a fixed pinch element and a deflectable pinch arm having a movable pinch element. The pinch arm normally resides in a closed position wherein the pinch elements cooperate to deform the tubing segment to stop flow. The pinch arm is resiliently deflectable away from the closed position to an open position permitting flow. Deflection of the pinch arm away from the closed position spring biases the pinch arm for automatic return to the closed position. The pinch arm may be moved to the open position by operating a door of the pump when the cassette is loaded in the pump, and manually for priming when the cassette is not loaded in the pump.
Pressurizable fluid container and flexible dispenser
A flexible dispensing apparatus for coupling to pressurized fluid containers is described. It includes a flexible tube and a handle assembly. The handle assembly houses a second end of the tube. The handle assembly has a first side connected to a second side, a slide trigger, a roller coupled to the bottom of the slide trigger with a dowel pin, a spray nozzle assembly, a magnet reservoir, and a magnet. The first side has an inclined ramp that runs along a length of the first side and extends into the second side above and beyond a seam that is formed by the connection of the two sides. The tube is within a channel in the handle assembly formed between the inclined ramp and the roller. When the roller is rolled toward the end of the ramp it pinches the flexible tube near the top of the inclined ramp.
BLADDER IRRIGATION TOOL
A tool is attachable to a bladder irrigation catheter. A body supports multiple fluid pathways between each of the catheter, a supply of irrigation fluid and a waste fluid collector. A syringe or other pressure and vacuum applicator accesses the pathways and powers irrigation flow. A supply port and intake port are connected to a supply pathway leading to the applicator. Similarly, a drain port and discharge port are connected to a drain pathway leading to the applicator. The supply pathway and drain pathway can be selectively blocked so that action of the applicator only drives supply or drain irrigation action. Check valves are located to provide proper fluid flow direction. Bypasses between the supply port and intake port and between the drain port and discharge port can be activated to bypass the supply pathway and drain pathway and allow for gravity flow bladder irrigation through the tool.
Tube clamp and volumetric pump comprising tube clamp
A medical tube clamp for clamping a flexible medical tube comprising: a tube receiving area which is adapted to receive the medical tube, a first clamping portion including a first clamping jaw which is movable relative to a second clamping portion including a second clamping jaw, and a closure system for safely positioning the two clamping portions in more than one snap-fit position relative to each other so that, when the closure system is unlocked, the medical tube can be inserted in and removed from the tube clamp, in an open snap-fit position the inserted medical tube cannot be removed and is not clamped and in a clamping snap-fit position the medical tube is clamped between the first clamping jaw and the second clamping jaw, with the first clamping jaw being configured to be elastically movable relative to the first clamping portion via a connecting member and/or the second clamping jaw being configured to be elastically movable relative to the second clamping portion via a connecting member. In addition, the invention relates to a volumetric pump.
LOCKING MECHANISM FOR ROLLER CLAMP
Roller clamps are described herein. A roller clamp includes a housing, a roller wheel, and a locking device. The housing includes a first wall and a second wall, wherein the first wall and the second wall are spaced apart to define a longitudinal channel therebetween, the housing including an upper opening and a lower opening configured to allow a tubing to pass through the longitudinal channel. The roller wheel is disposed at least partially within the longitudinal channel and configured to engage the tubing, the roller wheel including a plurality of teeth extending from an outer surface of the roller wheel, wherein a longitudinal position of the roller wheel relative to the channel adjusts a flow rate through the tubing. The locking device is releasably engaged to the housing and the roller wheel, wherein the locking device prevents movement of the roller wheel from the longitudinal position.
Pump tube retention mechanism
A clamp arrangement for retaining a flexible tube (18) during operation of a roller pump (10) for pumping fluid, the clamp arrangement comprising a pair of rotatable bobbins (24A, 24B, 26A, 26B) mounted adjacent to each other. Each bobbin (24A, 24B, 26A, 26B) has a tapered groove (30), formed partially around a cylindrical surface of the bobbin (24A, 24B, 26A, 26B), and counter rotation of the bobbins (24A, 24B, 26A, 26B) clamps the tube 18 between the bobbins (24A, 24B, 26A, 26B) in the tapered grooves (30). The clamp arrangement allows tubes of different shapes and diameters to be securely held without overly deforming the tube.
Adjusting device for a flow controller
An adjusting device for adjusting the flow rate of a medicinal fluid-conveying system, said device having a selection wheel for selecting one of a number of possible flow rates, having an adjusting disc connected to said selection wheel for adjusting the selected flow rate, and having a catching nose that cooperates with the outer edge of the adjusting disc, is improved in that the adjusting disc has a star shape.
COUPLING ASSEMBLY FOR VARIABLE DIAMETER SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
An apparatus may be used with an elongate member that includes an engagement member, a hollow shaft, a compression member, a compression element, and a resilient gripping member. The hollow shaft extends from the engagement member along a longitudinal axis. The compression member is slidably disposed over the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft is disposed over the resilient gripping member and supports the compression element. The compression member has a conical inner surface including a detent feature. The conical inner surface is configured to urge the compression element radially inwards as the collar advances from the unlocked position toward the locked position where the detent feature retains the compression element. The compression element deforms the resilient gripping member radially inwards to grip the elongate member and prevents translation of the elongate member. When unlocked, the resilient gripping member moves radially away from the elongate member allowing translation.
Enteral feeding pump systems, valve assemblies therefor and fluid flow control methods for same
Enteral feeding pump systems valves assemblies therefor and related fluid flow control methods. The system includes a disposable fluid delivery set with an integral peristaltic tube section and an enteral feeding pump. The system may also include a pinching mechanism for regulating the flow of nutrient formula or water out of the fluid delivery set. Also disclosed is a flow selector valve assembly for an enteral feeding pump system, the valve assembly including a tube adapter having two input flexible tubing channels and one output tubing channel and being configured to position the flexible tubing channels in relation with a receiver. The receiver has an eccentric bearing that is moveable between a first position in which neither of the input flexible tubing channels is compressed, and a second position in which the eccentric bearing compresses one of the input flexible tubing channels therein to prevent flow therethrough.
Shunts with blood-flow indicators
An apparatus for shunting blood includes a flow-indication chamber shaped to define an entry port and an exit port, and one or more moveable objects disposed within the flow-indication chamber and configured to move in response to a flowing of the blood from the entry port to the exit port. At least a portion of a wall of the flow-indication chamber is transparent so as to expose the moveable objects to sight. Other embodiments are also described.
