RIG POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A system for monitoring and optimizing fuel consumption by a genset at an oil rig is described. Gensets require large amounts of fuel to initiate and to maintain in a standby, idling position. The system accesses data in a drill plan to determine the present and future power requirements and initiates gensets if needed; otherwise gensets can be shut down. Excess power can be stored in a power storage unit such as a capacitor, battery, or a liquid air energy storage unit.

VEHICLE AUXILIARY POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

A power system for a vehicle comprises a first power supply network configured to operate at a first voltage. The system further comprises a second power supply network configured to operate at a second voltage. The second power supply network comprises a second alternator, a power supply receptacle configured to output power to an external accessory, and a capacitive energy storage device conductively connected to the second alternator and the power supply receptacle. A directional conduction device interconnects the first power supply network and the second power supply network.

Vehicle electrical load shed

A vehicle system includes an interface, an outlet, and a converter configured to, responsive to user input to the interface enabling shed mode, interrupt flow of battery current to internal vehicle loads such that power available at the outlet exceeds a predetermined threshold regardless of whether an external load is plugged into or removed from the outlet, and otherwise, maintain the flow regardless of whether an external load is plugged into the outlet.

BIDIRECTIONAL CHARGING PANEL

The invention relates to a bidirectional charging panel (BCP). The BCP includes a relay for controlling a combustion engine and a battery voltage sensor for monitoring a battery voltage. The BCP also includes a grid switch to transfer continuous power between the battery and a grid interface, where the grid interface further includes a grid voltage sensor for monitoring a grid voltage of a grid of devices and a grid direct current outlet to transfer power to and from a grid of devices. The BCP also includes a controller to manage the flow of power between the battery and the grid of devices, where the controller uses the relay to start or stop the combustion according to the battery voltage and uses the grid interface to transfer power from the grid of devices to the battery in response to determining the battery voltage is lower than the grid voltage.

Methods and system for operating an oxygen sensor

Systems and methods for operating an internal combustion engine that includes an oxygen sensor are described. In one example, a voltage that is applied to a heating element of an oxygen sensor is integrated to determine a resistance of the heating element. The resistance of the heating element is the basis for adjusting voltage applied to the heating element during subsequent engine starts.

METHOD FOR CLEANING COOLING SYSTEM OF A WORK MACHINE AND SYSTEM THEREOF

A control system for controlling a work machine includes an engine for producing power to propel the work machine during a normal operating mode, a cooling system for cooling at least the engine during the normal operating mode, and a controller for controlling the cleaning system during the normal operating mode and a clean operating mode. During the normal operating mode, the engine is running and the controller operably controls a cooling fan of the cooling system to rotate in a first rotational direction to produce a first air flow in a first direction. During the clean operating mode, the engine is not running and the controller operably controls the cooling fan to rotate in a second rotational direction to produce a second air flow in a second direction. The first rotational direction is opposite the second rotational direction, and the first direction is opposite the second direction.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A control device for a vehicle is provided with a catalyst warmup control part supplying electric power to a conductive base to warm up a catalyst device if the temperature of the conductive base is less than a predetermined temperature and the state of charge of the battery is less than a second state of charge larger than a first state of charge when the state of charge of the battery is equal to or greater than the predetermined first state of charge and a driving mode of the vehicle is set to an EV mode in which at least the output of the rotary electric machine is controlled to make the vehicle run. The catalyst warmup control part sets the second state of charge so that the second state of charge becomes larger in the case where the resistance value of the conductive base is large compared to when it is small.

A power management and selection system for a class 8 tractor trailer, directs excess solar and vehicular charge capacity to an auxiliary load by measuring available charge capacity from a reefer power system including a reefer battery, solar panel and charge controller for moderating solar power to the reefer batter, and measuring available charge capacity from a cab vehicle power system including a propulsion system battery and alternator. Charge logic, in a selector configured for switching charge capacity to the auxiliary load, determines which of the reefer power system and cab vehicle power system has the most potential excess charge capacity, and directs the determined excess charge capacity to the auxiliary load, while the measured available charge capacity remains sufficient for powering the respective reefer power system or cab vehicle power system.

A system for discharging or charging a capacitor of a hybrid vehicle according to the present disclosure includes a target state of charge (SOC) module and a capacitor charge/discharge module. The target SOC module determines a target state of charge of the capacitor based on a speed of the vehicle. The capacitor charge/discharge module determines whether a state of charge of a capacitor is greater than a target state of charge. The capacitor charge/discharge module dissipates power from the capacitor to at least one of a battery of the vehicle and an electrical load of the vehicle when the state of charge of the capacitor is greater than the target state of charge.
