Catheter device
The catheter device comprises a drive shaft connected to a motor, and a rotor mounted on the drive shaft at the distal end section. The rotor has a frame structure which is formed by a screw-like boundary frame and rotor struts extending radially inwards from the boundary frame. The rotor struts are fastened to the drive shaft by their ends opposite the boundary frame. Between the boundary frame and the drive shaft extends an elastic covering. The frame structure is made of an elastic material such that, after forced compression, the rotor unfolds automatically.
MAGNETIC DRIVE APPARATUS FOR TRANSLATING ROTATIONAL MOTION TO NUTATIONAL MOTION
A magnetic driver generates a magnetic field that rotates about an axis and induces nutation in a disc with an array of magnets (wobble plate). The magnetic driver can be a drive disc with an array of magnets and rotated by a drive motor, or can be electromagnetic coils sequentially energized, to provide the rotating magnetic field. The wobble plate nutates about the axis of the rotating magnetic field but is constrained from rotating about the axis. The wobble plate can be enclosed in a pump housing where nutation of the wobble plate causes pumping of a fluid to occur, such as in an implanted Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) or a Total Artificial Heart (TAH). Driven in reverse, an input pumping fluid may induce nutation of the wobble plate which in turn induces rotary motion of a drive disc that drives a generator or a motor/generator.

The invention relates to a method for determining a fluid volume flow (1) through an implanted vascular support system (2), comprising the following steps: a) determining a fluid temperature parameter in the region of a cannula (4) of the support system (2), b) operating a heating element (5) which can bring about a change in a fluid temperature in the cannula (4), c) determining the fluid volume flow (1) using at least the fluid temperature parameter or the change thereof and at least one heating element operating parameter or the change thereof. The invention also relates to a vascular support system.
