MAMMALIAN BODY CONDUIT INTRALUMENAL DEVICE AND LUMEN WALL ANCHOR ASSEMBLY, COMPONENTS THEREOF AND METHODS OF IMPLANTATION AND EXPLANTATION THEREOF

Transcatheterly implantable mammalian body conduit intralumenal device and lumen wall anchor assembly. Anchor includes: wire network, connector positioning wires having a secured and a released position, and a connector disposed at end of each wire. Anchor has: a compact-secured-configuration, an expanded-secured-configuration, an expanded-released-configuration. When the anchor is in the expanded-secured-configuration, the wire network exerts a force on conduit lumen wall and the connector positioning wires are the in secured position. When the anchor is in the expanded-released-configuration, the connector positioning wires are in the released position, and do not obstruct fluid flow axially through conduit. Device includes an interconnector that allows for the releasable interconnector of the connectors thereto. Device and anchor assembly can be explanted from the conduit. Or, device can be released from the anchor at the implantation site and only the device explanted with the anchor remaining within the conduit.

Catheter blood pumps that include collapsible blood conduits and one or more collapsible impellers. The catheter blood umps include an outflow and an expandable flow diverter disposed in the outflow. The expandable flow diverters can be completely proximal to a proximal end of the collapsible blood conduit.

CATHETER BLOOD PUMPS AND IMPELLERS

Catheter blood pumps that include an expandable pump portion extending distally from a catheter. The pump portions may include an expandable impeller housing that includes an expandable blood conduit defining a blood lumen. The pump portions may include a collapsible impeller that includes a collapsible and optionally inflatable hub and one or more collapsible blades extending from the hub.

Blood pumps

Apparatus and methods are described including a catheter, and first and second impellers configured to be inserted into a subject's body via the catheter, the first and second impellers being disposed in series with each other. A motor is configured to generate rotational motion. A rotation shaft extends from the motor to the first impeller and imparts the rotational motion from the motor to the first impeller. A gear mechanism disposed between the first and second impeller is configured to effect a change in rotational motion that is imparted from the first impeller to the second impeller, such that the second impeller rotates in a different manner from the first impeller. Other applications are also described.

BLOOD PUMP

A blood pump comprises a pump casing having a blood flow inlet and a blood flow outlet, and an impeller arranged in said pump casing and rotatably supported in the pump casing by a bearing so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation. The impeller has blades for conveying blood from the blood flow inlet to the blood flow outlet. The bearing comprises at least one stationary bearing portion coupled to the pump casing and having a stationary bearing surface that faces radially outwards. The bearing further comprises a rotating bearing surface interacting with the stationary bearing surface to form the bearing, wherein the rotating bearing surface faces radially inwards and is formed on an exposed radially inner edge of the blades. The blades are designed to draw blood deposit on the stationary bearing surface in a radially outward direction.

Rotation drive device and centrifugal pump apparatus employing same

This centrifugal blood pump apparatus includes an impeller (10) provided in a blood chamber (7), and a plurality of coils (20) provided in a motor chamber (8) for driving the impeller (10) to rotate with a dividing wall (6) interposed therebetween. A flexible substrate (23) in the shape of a strip is arranged to surround outer circumferences of the plurality of coils (20), and is connected to the plurality of coils (20) and a connector (24). A driving voltage (VU, VV, VW) is externally supplied to the plurality of coils (20) via the connector (24) and the flexible substrate (23). Thus, assembling workability, productivity and reliability are improved.
