Inlet cannula for a fluid pump
11517738 · 2022-12-06 · ·

An inlet cannula is provided for supplying a fluid from a human vessel to a fluid pump, the inlet cannula formed as a hollow structure suitable for conveying the fluid and a surface of the inlet cannula has an ingrowth zone and an inlet zone separated from each other by a tear-off edge extending in the circumferential direction of the inlet cannula, wherein a first tangent to the inlet zone on the tear-off edge has an angle to a longitudinal axis of the inlet cannula of >0° and <180°, and wherein a surface roughness in the ingrowth zone is greater than a surface roughness in the inlet zone, and wherein along the flow direction the ingrowth zone is concave, convex, or not curved and the inlet zone is convexly curved, and wherein the tear-off edge forms a curvature transition between the ingrowth zone and the inlet zone.

Intravascular fluid movement devices, systems, and methods of use

Devices for moving blood within a patient, and methods of doing so. The devices can include a pump portion that includes an impeller and a housing around the impeller, as well as a fluid lumen. The impeller can be activated to cause rotation of the impeller and thereby move fluid within the fluid lumen.

INTRAVASCULAR BLOOD PUMP

An intravascular blood pump having a rotatable shaft carrying an impeller and a housing with an opening through which the shaft extends with the impeller positioned outside the housing. The shaft and the housing have surfaces forming a circumferential gap which converges towards the impeller-side end of the gap and which has a minimum gap width of preferably no more than 5 μm, more preferably no more than 2 μm.

A heart pump includes a cannula having a sidewall defining a longitudinal blood flow passage and a plurality of outlets extending through the sidewall. A rotatable impeller hub includes at least one impeller blade, wherein the at least one impeller blade is shaped to convey blood through the blood flow passage toward the plurality of outlets when the impeller hub is rotated at an operational speed. A diffuser defines an outer, flow directing surface having a geometry that is configured to control at least one property of the conveyed blood prior to flowing through the plurality of outlets.

BLOOD PUMP PLACEMENT AND INTRAVASCULAR BLOOD PUMP

An intravascular blood pump for percutaneous insertion into a patient’s vasculature comprises a pumping device and a supply catheter. The pumping device comprises a pump section with a blood flow inlet, blood flow outlet, and impeller for conveying blood from the inlet to the outlet and further comprises a drive section connected to the pump section and adapted to drive the impeller. The supply line supplies the drive section with electric energy for driving the impeller. The supply catheter supplies electric energy for driving the impeller. The pump section is axially arranged between the drive section and the supply line. The pump section includes a flexibly bendable cannula, and electric lines are arranged across the cannula in a manner to prevent their rupture in the event that the cannula is subject to bending.
