PERCUTANEOUS CIRCULATORY SUPPORT SYSTEM FACILITATING REDUCED HEMOLYSIS
A percutaneous circulatory support device includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. A shaft is rotatably fixed relative to the housing. An impeller is disposed within the housing and is rotatably supported by the shaft. The impeller is configured to rotate relative to the shaft and the housing to cause blood to flow into the inlet, through the housing, and out of the outlet. A keeper is coupled to the shaft distally relative to the impeller, and the keeper inhibits axial motion of the impeller relative to the shaft.
Implantable blood pump with thrombus diverter
An inflow cannula for an implantable blood pump having an impeller defining a plurality of flow channels, the inflow cannula includes a proximal end a distal end proximate the impeller, the distal end including a protuberance extending outward from the inflow cannula.
CENTRIFUGAL AND MIXED-FLOW IMPELLERS FOR USE WITH A BLOOD PUMP
Apparatus and methods are described including a left-ventricular assist device (20) that includes a pump-outlet tube (28). A mixed-flow impeller (100) is configured to pump blood from a subjects left ventricle to the subjects aorta, by pumping the blood into the pump-outlet tube (28) via one or more blood inlet openings (108) disposed within the left ventricle, and by pumping blood out of the pump-outlet tube (28) via one or more blood outlet openings (30) disposed within the aorta. The mixed-flow impeller (100) includes an expandable portion (116) disposed along its axis and shaped such that a diameter of the expandable portion increases from a distal end of the expandable portion to its proximal end. The mixed-flow impeller (100) is configured to impart radial flow components to blood as the blood flows from its distal end to its proximal end. Other applications are also described.
CANNULA HAVING NITINOL REINFORCED INFLOW REGION
An intravascular heart pump assembly can include a rotor with at least one impeller blade, and a cannula. The present application describes various cannulas that can be manufactured from multiple layers of material to improve flexibility, manufacturability, and durability without increasing an outer diameter of the cannula. In one embodiment, the cannula includes an inflow section having a sheet formed of a shape memory material embedded within a polymer and having at least one lateral hole or aperture in the inflow section. The at least one lateral hole is defined by a first hole in the sheet and a second hole in the outer polymer layer of the cannula. The first hole and the second hole overlap so that blood can enter the cannula through the holes.
INTRAVASCULAR BLOOD PUMPS
Catheter blood pumps that include collapsible blood conduits and one or more collapsible impellers. The catheter blood pumps include an outflow and an expandable flow diverter disposed in an outflow region. The expandable flow diverters can be completely proximal to a proximal end of the collapsible blood conduit.
Silver motor stator for implantable blood pump
In one embodiment of the present invention, an implantable blood pump includes a housing defining a flow path, a rotor positioned within the flow path, and a motor including a stator, positioned outside of said housing, the stator including a length of silver wire, wherein the silver wire is not positioned within a hermetically sealed compartment once the blood pump is ready for implantation into a patient in need thereof. The present invention may also include a method of implanting the implantable blood pump including the step of implanting the blood pump within the patient and within or adjacent to the vasculature.
Centrifugal blood pump device
A pump device (10) includes a housing (30) including a blood inflow port (38) through which blood flows in, and having a fixed-side repulsive magnet (44) disposed in an annular manner; and an impeller (14) that is rotatably housed inside the housing (30), and having a movable-side repulsive magnet (56) disposed in an annular manner. The fixed-side repulsive magnet (44) is disposed in a position offset toward the blood inflow port (38) side relative to the movable-side repulsive magnet (56). In the fixed-side repulsive magnet (44) and the movable-side repulsive magnet (56), a fixed-side repulsive surface (44a) and a movable-side repulsive surface (56a) adjacent to each other have the same polarity.

MOTOR ASSEMBLY FOR CATHETER PUMP
A catheter pump is disclosed herein. The catheter pump can include a catheter assembly that comprises a drive shaft and an impeller coupled to a distal end of the drive shaft. A driven assembly can be coupled to a proximal end of the drive shaft within a driven assembly housing. The catheter pump can also include a drive system that comprises a motor and a drive magnet coupled to an output shaft of the motor. The drive system can include a drive assembly housing having at least one magnet therein. Further, a securement device can be configured to prevent disengagement of the driven assembly housing from the drive assembly housing during operation of the pump.
CATHETER BLOOD PUMPS AND COLLAPSIBLE PUMP HOUSINGS
Catheter blood pumps that include an expandable pump portion. The pump portions include a collapsible blood conduit that defines a blood lumen. The collapsible blood conduits include a collapsible scaffold adapted to provide radial support to the blood conduit. The pump portion also includes one or more impellers.
